I saw her live in LA last week. The vocal stamina that she has is insane, I did not expect her to sing for two and a half hours. I know she is a very genuine person but my gosh, hearing her speak and the way she carries herself made me appreciate her and love her even more (didn’t know that was possible). She is very sweet, down to earth, real, and a bundle of such positive energy. It felt like she just invited a bunch of people to her house to hear her sing. I felt like I was teleported back in time and was in a jazz club. So much soul and passion from Angelina and all the other musicians on stage. I loved how she gave each of her band members and backing vocals their own spotlight throughout the show, and we were really able to see all the people backing her up (they weren’t hidden). That girl could be munching on popcorn seconds before singing and once she picks that mic up, it’s like a switch is flipped. She visibly gets so into the songs, much like we’ve seen online, and travels to another place in her mind. Honestly, I was moved because I saw how much singing brings peace to her soul. It was written all over her face. I prefer her live version for sure because she rips it apart and adds nuances that aren’t in the studio version.
Thanks for sharing your concert experience. I have been to each of Angelina's 3 concerts in the US. She improves with each one, both with her interaction with her angels and with her singing. The entire day felt like a family gathering. I hope you got one of the button pins I handed out.

I was lucky enough to go to her show in LA and it was absolutely amazing. It just blows my mind how talented and beautiful she is, yet she's so humble and thankful to be performing for her fans. I loved how conversational she was between songs telling stories, thanking her family her friends and her fans and giving context to her music. She teared up at least 3 times, maybe more ( I brought a travel pack of tissues because I thought I would be the one tearing up!). I totally agree with you that I usually prefer the live performances partly because you get to see her personality more in the performance. I am so glad a traveled across the country to see her. Well I havent seen her so relaxed since her last concert in Norway. She seemed totally at home in Glendale, in the moment, even very talkative. She was so happy. At the beginning she said she struggled not to cry when coming on stage. When she's relaxed and at home thats always been when she's at the top of her game.
I was at both the Las Vegas and Glendale concerts and although I was blown away by her performance in Vegas - I thought her Glendale was 10 times better! It is amazing how Angelina keeps getting better and better!

First was Toby Gad's 15 year old daughter, Mei Mei (hope I spelled her name correctly), who sang two original songs while playing acoustic guitar. She was a bit nervous but did very well and has a beautiful voice. Then Scott Hoying of Pentatonix, sang two songs. Angelina took the stage around 8 PM and finished around 10:30 PM, with one short break to change her dress. Angelina sang 21 songs, including two new originals, "Thank You" and "What Am I to You". She sang the latter after thanking her home school teacher, who she wished could have been at the show. Angelina was surprised when she was told he was there and she invited him on the stage. Angelina couldn't hold back her tears and hugged him. Angelina sang John Legend's "All of Me" in a duet with Scott Hoying. Of course James Thiel and Chris Walker (on his BigAngiefan channel) will be posting the highest quality videos from the concert. A few are already posted.
Awesome reaction and hearing her live is an experience that can't be explained. Not only the Talent, but the Love in the Air is extraordinary! When I got home to listen to her on You Tube, the vocals were so different, it's hard to imagine someone that good, especially at her young age of 18. Like what a lot of people say it is scary, how good she is, and she really doesn't realize her impact. She is so sweet, humble, charming and the Love she projects is next level, you must attend a concert, it's life changing. It actually won my wife over, and she said, "she kept lifting her jaw off the floor", LOL, God Bless!
From what I understand, the audio for this was recorded a couple of years ago in the studio, but it wasn't released because Republic Records didn't want to include it on her EP, "Old Enough." After 2 years Angelina & Toby decided to release it under Toby's label as a single. So they recently filmed the video with her lip-synching to the studio performance from when she was 16.
It's just games, people who don't know they want you, don't know that they don't. Keeping you at a perfect distance, you get to close, they pull away. 🤷♂😥. Bad Valentine for sure. Hi Red.. I was at the concert in LA. She was amazing. Actually the live version she did at the concert, music and style wise, seemed to be more like this studio version than how she did it at the cafe a few months ago....IMO. I like it better, too.
🎶👣💫💎🎶 Always love her voice with the Grit and talent for miles. I lean towards her live version for the most part but there is more clarity in the earlier verses of this MV. Watching the lyric video, you learn that she is Belting "Heart" rather than "you" or "Yah". She seems to a have a soft H. I have read that they wanted to keep the video simple to let the Vocals carry most of the performance. I like the concept of the video, and of course the car (I took my first driver's test with Mom's 66 Mustang fastback). I think it missed the mark with it's execution though. The largest issue is Continuity problems with time of day back and forth. Learning that there is a2 year difference in vocal and visual performance may result in what some say there was not her usual keen connection to the emotion the song calls for. That may be why I like the Cafe performance, as we know it is this year and the performance matched the vocals. The goal of a simple video to stay out of the way seems to actually detract. Don't get me wrong though. I absolutely adore her artistry and listen to her practically every day. I love true talent and celebrate it when I see it. She is without a doubt, one of the most talented, down to earth, True talents I have experienced.

The studio version I think shows one of the talents that Angelina excels in. Angelina IS jazz - it permeates every bit of her. So happy to see your reaction. I was waiting for it. FYI, this song was actually recorded 2 years ago along with 7 others that she recorded with Tony Gad when she was working on her album. Since only an EP ended up being released , completed songs had to be left unreleased. That included all the songs she worked on with Toby. Now this song is finally released but on Toby’s label. Toby confirmed the other day that these are the same vocals from the 2022 recording so she was actually still only 16 at the time.

I think Angelina is reacting to someone who can only see her talent, her external beauty, things that I think she is proud of, but things that were gifted to her by God and parents, and just great genes. I'm really not sure how to say it, but I think she wants the public, or any genuine suitor, to treat her like a regular normal person and not as her gifted self, which is how she sees herself...I don't think the young lady is impressed with pedestals. Unfortunately, that kind of thinking only makes her even more special...such a conundrum.
I agree, this version had a little more polish. I think in the song Angelina is portraying a girl who is in a relationship with someone who puts her on a pedestal so much that it makes her uncomfortable. He's not real with her, even when she deliberately tries to provoke a reaction. Maybe I'm stating the obvious here..

Hi Red.. I was at the concert in LA. She was amazing. Actually the live version she did at the concert, music and style wise, seemed to be more like this studio version than how she did it at the cafe a few months ago....IMO. I like it better, too.

🎶👣💫💎🎶 Always love her voice with the Grit and talent for miles. I lean towards her live version for the most part but there is more clarity in the earlier verses of this MV. Watching the lyric video, you learn that she is Belting "Heart" rather than "you" or "Yah". She seems to a have a soft H.
I have read that they wanted to keep the video simple to let the Vocals carry most of the performance. I like the concept of the video, and of course the car (I took my first driver's test with Mom's 66 Mustang fastback). I think it missed the mark with it's execution though. The largest issue is Continuity problems with time of day back and forth. Learning that there is a2 year difference in vocal and visual performance may result in what some say there was not her usual keen connection to the emotion the song calls for. That may be why I like the Cafe performance, as we know it is this year and the performance matched the vocals. The goal of a simple video to stay out of the way seems to actually detract.
Don't get me wrong though. I absolutely adore her artistry and listen to her practically every day. I love true talent and celebrate it when I see it. She is without a doubt, one of the most talented, down to earth, True talents I have experienced.
Some versions in studio...with all bands are so different . You will always pick up extras in the studio versions hun!!!....live is a fun distraction though and its good to see and hear both.

I wasn't lucky enough to go to the LA concert but several videos of the concerts are already up . 2 in partucular you must react to are Bad Valentine and I'd Rather Go Blind accompanied by Jimmy Z. Just spectacular. Re the lyrics of Bad Valentine there is a lyrics video out. You should check that out too. I think it will give you a better understanding of the song .In particular 2 lines where she said he is not a fighter and he lost his worth. ❤❤👣❤❤

Such a cool and honest opinion Red. I really like the live version. I think I prefer it but isn’t really a “better” version. The studio version I think shows one of the talents that Angelina excels in. Angelina IS jazz - it permeates every bit of her. What I’ve come to realize is how much pop music really requires a driving beat and this song epitomizes that. This ability to infuse jazz into pop (popular) music will serve her well in developing her huge worldwide audience while also introducing them to the complex creativity of jazz. It’s a win-win situation that will benefit us all!

FYI, this song was actually recorded 2 years ago along with 7 others that she recorded with Tony Gad when she was working on her album. Since only an EP ended up being released , completed songs had to be left unreleased. That included all the songs she worked on with Toby.
Now this song is finally released but on Toby’s label. Toby confirmed the other day that these are the same vocals from the 2022 recording so she was actually still only 16 at the time.

At first I didn't like the official version as well. I think the live version has a more intimate feel to it. Now that I've heard it a few times, I do like they way they punched it up and think it is better suited for radio.

I think Angelina is reacting to someone who can only see her talent, her external beauty, things that I think she is proud of, but things that were gifted to her by God and parents, and just great genes. I'm really not sure how to say it, but I think she wants the public, or any genuine suitor, to treat her like a regular normal person and not as her gifted self, which is how she sees herself...I don't think the young lady is impressed with pedestals. Unfortunately, that kind of thinking only makes her even more special...such a conundrum.
I agree, this version had a little more polish. I think in the song Angelina is portraying a girl who is in a relationship with someone who puts her on a pedestal so much that it makes her uncomfortable. He's not real with her, even when she deliberately tries to provoke a reaction. Maybe I'm stating the obvious here..
