- Paxo starts off in his usual condescending way towards anyone without a Home Counties accent - but quickly finds out he's not dealing with another Westminster cocktail set drone. Plaid Cymru's economic adviser, Eurfyl ap Gwilym, sets the arch Celtophobe straight on a few matters, whilst Jezza faffs about like a beached whale. 2:15 is where the real fun starts.
Good to see a bully get what he deserves
Even when he loses, Paxman pretends he has won. He is a twelve year old boy trapped in the body of an aged toff.
Paxman personifies the English attitude throughout history. When they lost a battle, and they lost plenty, it is barely ever mentioned.

Went back a few years ago for a walk down memory lane and it’s a shit hole. Every decent pub, restaurant and hotel that was, all ramshackle and empty. Literally deserted. And this was the more scenic mid-north. Down south is a fucking Gaza Strip

Nah it's more that Paxman's rules are (1) argue belligerently with whoever he's talking to, (2) if he gets challenged, fight back with insults and dismissal. I don't think he has any contempt for Wales vs. England, but he was arguing with someone from Plaid.

An absolute doing for Paxman. He's a great presenter but boy does he let himself down when he is dealing with welsh and scot issues. He dealt with Salmond recently as if he was talking to a BNP council officer, making life easy for someone who merits tough questions. Hugely experienced but lots to learn.
He's used to dealing with the tame dogs of the Tory and Labour party who are scared off him.
I love that "sigh, God" from Paxman at 3:20. You can actually hear the annoyed frustration as he realises Ap Gwilym isn't just going to roll over, and will keep pursuing him until he admits that London gets more money than Wales.

Nice going Plaid! Never liked Paxman personally, he can act SO holier-than-thou. Notice how after every question asked, he NEVER lets the person answer it. Right or wrong answer, it doesn't matter how completely ridiculous the answer is, you must let the person finish their answer, then you can rebut it. Only then can you have a successful debate. Paxman doesn't seem to understand this rule.

Fair play, that was a fantastic performance. And shame on the BBC for picking out the one point (around 2:00) where Paxman appeared to have won his point. If this was a boxing match, I would give this to Eurfyl ap Gwilym about 11:1.

Full devolution I'd be happy with but after watching this interview I'd rather be independent and worse off for 10 years than put up with the way rich people like this act in a reasonable debate looking down on the people that grandparents fuelled the war with coal and land stolen and flooded for fresh water lines in to England then get treated like a third world country the amount of things that Wales has contributed is amazing for a place with just 3 million people we are proud and punch up not down
