Dear Aoife, Ian, Johnny, & now Zoey (Chris & Bendix) I just wanted to extend a sincere heartfelt thanks to each & everyone one of you lovely people. I have been subscribed to Eurogamer for years now & since day one it has felt like I am just hanging out with friends. Your personalities, senses of humor, crazy antics, & relationship/bond with each other. I have depression and you guys have made me smile, helped to keep me positive, & even made me laugh through some dark times.. So thank you for all the hard work you put into each episode & series. Thank you for providing me with years of entertainment. Thank you for making a positive community where I we can have a fun time. And thank you for always making me feel like a part of the Eurogamer family. I hope to someday get to England to buy you a drink, & thank you in person. P.S. Keep up the amazing work & know that you make more of a difference then you could have guessed.
I dont mean to be so offtopic but does anyone know a tool to log back into an instagram account?? I somehow forgot the account password. I would love any assistance you can offer me
I like to imagine the inside of Ian's brain to be like an Echer sketch, but made with bouncy castles, where random thoughts just bounce around furiously powered by a hundred hamsters high out of their minds.
ps: Ian they don't Have to be block buster movies, you can write your own line of quirky graphic novels, something to think about. Seriously. Later comes the Netflix adaptation.
"Do magnets work in space?" If you haven't read or watched any sci-fi involving this, I highly recommend The Expanse (TV series and book series). Seriously good stuff. And they use magnetic boots to move around and stick to "floors" when there is no "gravity" (in ships in the Expanse, artificial gravity is due to the ship being under constant acceleration, usually at 0.3G).
Ah, "Anisedora" the famous aria for lyric tenors from the Puccini opera Turandot where prince Calaf (the role that made Pavarotti famous!) wants to marry the princess Turandot, but in order to do so, he has to succeed in three challenges she gives every guy who claims her: Go to the Sevastopol and don't get murdered by milky boys. Go to a capsule and don't get eaten by an alien or it's crawly kiddos. Go to the Anisedora and stop it from being blown up. Good ol' Giacomo was way ahead of his time there. PS: The actual title of the aria is "Nessun dorma" which means "nobody sleeps". That is still quite accurate for this game.
Ian made that mask in a hotel room? I really hope while he was there he put the Do Not Disturb sign up - can you imagine if housekeeping came in and found that bloody thing???
I love this game and love watching others play through it so I've enjoyed all the vids so far and hope to see you both play through the DLCs too. and not sure if you guys knew that Amanda's character is based off a deleted scene from Aliens or the directors cut since in it, it's revealed that Ripleys daughter died a year or so after they discover the lifeboat ship 57 years after the first Alien movie. Fun fact the pic used in the deleted scene is that of Sigorneys real mom. ;-)
Just a bit of a fun fact and info on the voice types of singers, as I studied music in college and know them somewhat, if I remember correctly, women and men are separated into two groups; women are classified as either soprano, contralto, or mezzo-soprano. Men are separated into four groups; the lowest voice being bass, then baritone, tenor (I think is second from the highest pitch?) and then countertenor. I may have these the wrong way around, it’s been nearly ten years since I was in college. But then you have things like singing in falsetto, which when used by someone like Matt Bellamy, of one of my favorite bands Muse, makes their voice go an octave higher than their base voice (as he is a tenor).
So you're almost there, but in barbershop (to the best of my recollection) you go (highest to lowest): Tenor Lead Baritone Bass Lead is sometimes called 2nd tenor but they are so called because they usually have the tune. Also falsetto doesn't have a strict range but it's a very different way of using the throat and, whilst commonly is exhibited amongst the lower voices, can also be used by upper voices and, even without considering trans singers, you can and do have masculine altos and feminine tenors.

I can’t wait to see what you have planned for the next series and here’s hoping you will continue it as a Monday tradition.
Aoife, you don't know who Rik Mayall is? I'm from the US, and that was the first "Rick" that I thought of. You must watch the movie Drop Dead Fred. :) Also, you should have really caught on that Ian is going to scream Boo at you at the end of every episode. You should get him back. *evil smile*
I find it hilarious that you all are cheering on Taylor, the single sleaziest crewmember from the Marlow 😂🤣. If you pay attention, you find out quickly that she KNEW about the creature all along, she KNEW it would be there and she wanted to get the information back to Weyland-Yutani so they could use it for their Bioweapons division. Taylor was Alien: Isolation's version of Carter Burke.
3:34 My vacuum cleaner makes that noise when too much of my hair gets into it. Centrpetal force still works in space, so you can create artificial gravity by inducing a spin & walking around the outside of the inside of the spinning section. Also, centrifugal force is not a force but an effect of the centripetal force, much like cold is to heat. Edit: Also, Aoife you really need to stop with the walking backwards stuff. Never, ever do that in a horror scenario. 7/10 on the quiz this week. Pretty happy with that, but I'm sure a couple of the Ianvasions actually are B-movies too.
Thanks to this series, I have bought Alien Isolation Ripley Edition for 14.99€. I'm in for more scares than ever but every single cent is worth for this awesome game. I just hope Milky Boy Ian won't come to hunt my game now. I hate when that happens.
So as an FYI those leftover bits at the end of any furniture/self assembly build are nicknamed “comfy’s” in Scotland. Their proper name is “Where the fuck did that comfy?”
During the whole first half of this episode, I kept wishing my voice could travel through the screen and through time, so I could whisper in their ears to look to their left and use the Ian Torch to cut open the vent access. Or, to use one of the access rewires to let out a milky boy who will kill all the shooty boys.
In the extended media (the comics and novels) it was stated that drone aliens could molt into queens. Also in a deleted scene in Alien Dallas was being turned into an egg, so that could be a thing.
@@larshansson1953 Nah its pretty good. Like the scene in Aliens where they first find a impanted colonist, or Alien 4 where Ripley finds her clones. Ripley is running from the Alien after they decide to blow the Nostromo. She finds the Alien's new nest/home. Brett and Dallas are both being turned into eggs, Brett is dead and a lot further along, Dallas is still alive (poor guy). He groans "Kill me" to Ripley, and she sets the whole place on fire. I think it was cut for the pacing, it broke up the tension/limited time/oh no "Shes all alone" feel of the ending.
27:56 I think Believe was actually the song that made Auto-Tune popular. The producers set it on the most aggressive setting so that it would immediately correct the pitch which created the robotic sound. The technique then was called "Cher Effect" because it was the pretty much the first time someone had made use of Auto-Tune in that way.
You really need to arc your throw with a molotov. When you're crouched throwing it at an approaching target you might as well just be pouring liquid fire all over yourself.
Jonesy died in Alien 3 if I remember correctly along with Newt and hudson. Correction, Jonesy lived with Ripley and was left behind prior to the events of Alien 3 so was not taken on the ill fated mission.
So in space things don't have weight (ish) but things would still feel heavy, particularly things that you wear. Inertia is a thing (and is essentially how difficult it is to start something moving) and spacesuits would have that, along with any natural resistance to being moved (think of a badly-made leather jacket). These things don't really depend on the gravitational field.
Me: I don't think she saved. *Re-winds video* Me: oh no she, definitely didn't save Aoife: should I... Should I save? i'm not gonna save right now, I feel like that would be foolish. Me NOOOOOOOOO! lol
Less scary than Episode 11, but with some very amusing moments. In particular, I really enjoyed the opera-style singing - "Iiiiiiion!" X-D - plus the Invasions quiz and then, between 1:21:26 and 1:21:30, Ian almost getting clonked by Aoife. Nice one! ^o^
Ian should post a copy of that story he wrote about the prisoner saving the human race (if he wants to update it to reflect his refined 21-year-old tastes, that's fine too). It sounds like a really interesting way to touch on the concept of legality vs morality!
Interestingly enough, and American football player recently got a mild form of trenchfoot - Antonio Brown - and then he went into a cryochamber and completely screwed up his feet by freezing the trenchfoot.
Using a cryo freezer has become quite the trend amongst athletes. I find it a bit troublesome that athletes are encouraged to push their bodies to ruin for wealth and entertainment.

Aside from its protomolecule shenanigans, The Expanse depicts space travel and how artificial gravity would work pretty well.
I don't think Marlow was intending to escape. I think it was more of a murder/suicide kind if thing.

You're semi correct about Falsetto. Falsetto is simply a different register above your normal range. Any male part can sing Falsetto.
So you're almost there, but in barbershop (to the best of my recollection) you go (highest to lowest):
Tenor
