You were asking about a clarification of verses 8 &9. Verse 8 speaks of those who are haughty and out to gain pleasure and do according to their own wants not thinking of others. Verse 9 James is telling these people to change their attitude, ways, and actions to repent and seek forgiveness from God for their sinfulness, which they have pleasured themselves in. If it’s ok I would like to mention or highlight that you mentioned other verses (Matthew 22:37-39) and I think one thing I learned from another video is that when we love God, we’ll submit to Him because like you said “submission is the action or fact of accepting or yielding to a superior force, will, or authority of a person (in this case our God). Now this isn’t to say we won’t slip and mess up but when we love God the way God wants us to love Him, I believe (and correct me if you feel I’m wrong) that it’ll be one of those “ingredients” that helps us resist the devil and submit to God. One last thing I wanted to add (if it’s ok with whoever’s reading this lol) is that I think verses 6, and 7 go hand and hand. Without being humble you aren’t submitted to God, and without submitting to God you won’t be humble. The Bible says in 1 Peter 5:6-7 NKJV “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” What I’m trying to get at is that when we humble ourselves God lifts us higher, a place the devil can’t touch us. Through casting your care upon God you in other words are saying that whatever it is you’re going through (or caring about) isn’t something you can deal with on your own. So when you cast your cares upon God I think (PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I’M WRONG I rather be wounded by a friend than be deceived by an enemies kisses read Proverbs 27:6) that’s a action of submitting to God. This is very helpful, seeing you making notes and talking through what the scriptures say about submission to God. It's often times seem to be like a Rollercoaster ride, you have ups and downs, good days and bad, but He is always there to carry you through anything. Thanks for these videos!

@@jakeusaf9401 You need to read the Bible to know how God wants us to live, obeying everything in the Bible is obeying God. Also, as you get closer to God you will start to hear his voice personally (not only verbally). For example, if you want to watch TV something is telling you to read your Bible instead, you should go read your Bible. To help you discern God's voice from yours and the devil, God's voice gives you peace as you obey. Also pray for discernment
