Yeah when I first saw this episode, it really came out of nowhere. I was shocked at how well written it was and kinda wondered if it had originally been intended as a series finale.
It may not be today and it may not be tomorrow, but there will come a time in my life where there will be a generation of people that did not grow up while The Simpsons was airing. Maybe it goes out with another movie, maybe Disney cancels it after someone who voices one of the main characters dies, but that day is coming. And as bad as the show has felt for so long now, I don't think I can handle it.
I remember this episode and it definitely felt like a good ending however if they ever decided to refurbish the show on Lisa Bart and Maggie as adults I’m sure I’m not the only millennial who could relate and watch every week ❤️
I disagree that this episode is a satisfying ending. The future episodes don't seem to count. They are just like treehouse of horror and are just an exceuse for Jetsons spoofs. I would much rather have a normal epiosde be the ending for the Simpsons.
For me it should have ended with Trilogy of Error. Simply because that's the last great episode thwy ever made. Everything after that is pretty much crap.
Okay but couldn’t we have one more final episode that continues off of the previous “final” show? Another 10 years down the line. Showing the final bits of what would be the show and set up their future
Watching the Simpson’s now is like watching your pet dye. The pain is that it has been dying for 20 years. I loved it up until about 2001 but it has been a completely different show since. The plot lines are dreadful, the characters aren’t likeable and the jokes have been dumbed down.
The only way I would like to see the Simpsons carry on is as spin off using some of the more popular characters. But it still probably wouldn't be great
I always wanted a final season solving all the problems through all the show and giving one last word to the villains/characters and a movie. It'd go along 1 year and it'd like this: 1- Bart would finally turn 11, but sideshow bob goes free and the family, worried about him, forgets bart's birthday. At the end, sideshow bob would finally realize murder is not his thing and apologize bart for his action, giving him a krusty show for present 2- Abraham (Grandpa) would finally visit the place mona's ashes were spread, but he'd realize hank scorpio's corp. are ruining the enviroment, so he'd try to stop it with financial help of herbert (homer's step bro). Abe would catch a disease in the mean time but woulsnt notice. 3- The mob would try to kill Krusty after some unpaid debts to them. Side show bob would help krusty with some help of the simpsons. Fat Tony would seem "defeated" but not yet, as he'll remember this. 4- Homer and Barney give Moe some hoñe and help him get more people to his tavern. At the end Barney works with Moe (to help and secretly drink duff) and Moe owes a favour to Homer. 5- Abe's disease would be more noticable, so the simpsons call Artie Ziff for some help. Artie, after many complications, agrees and decides to create a cryo machine and freezes abe till a cure is found. 6- Martin helps Bart with a winter project, in which he accidentally finds extraterrestrial life. But at the end Bart gets the credit and gets a full paid university education. 7- Hank Scorpio arrives to the simpson's house to ask Homer help with the project Abe helped destroy episodes ago. The goverment takes scorpio away but fat tont sees potential and takes him out. 8- The -stonecutters- No-Homer's run into trouble when important files end up in the wrong hands, Homer's hand (obviously). By the end of the episode, the organizarion completly disolves. 9- Milhouse keeps unsuccesfully trying to flirt with lisa, but Nelson gets in the way and it seems Lisa x Nelson might be a thing again. Lisa denies any relationship with nelson and admits she'd be more comfortable with milhouse (Doesnt mean much but milhouse gets happy) 10- The shelbiville people steal more of springfield's monuments, but the springfield people manage to get them back. At the end, they put up a decent guard on the Shellbivile and Springfield border. 11- Flanders and Homer go on a friend ( yes, friend) trip, when they find a consporavy between Hank and the mob. They cant stop it but have enough info to be kept alive. 12- The villain of the movie (I forgot his name) tries to destroy springfield again, but after trying without the (president's permission) and failing again, he'd get fired, but have a back up plan. 13 (Season finale)- Burns would visit the simpsons to prepare hos vengeance for many misfortunes caused by them, while the mob, the remaining No-Homer's and the villain of the movie watch and wait for the moment to act. At the end, Burns would shoot Homer (like maggie did to burns on season 6-7) and it would go right into the movie. Movie: After seeing Homer get shot, the remaining no-homer's spread out to take homer away. The mob would kidnap the family and the villain guy would prepare explosives to blow everything up. The no-homer's would heal homer to later tell him they'd TORTURE him to death. Moe, owning homer a favour, qould attack the no-homer's and take homer (lenny and carl would help Moe and Homer too). Meanwhile, The mob would wake the other simpsons up and tell them they'll use their human energy to help power hank's weapon, which would be capable of almost anything (EXCEPT time travel [I wont fix it that way]). Homer would call his step bro herbert to locate Marge and his children. Meanwhile, the real skinner would return with anger but with the actual intention to have his mother's forgiveness, he'd see the villain's movie plan out the bombs throughout the town and try to stop him, but after being unsuccesful, he'd start to fight him. The real skinner would start to get tired when the "fake" skinner comes to rescue and unite forces with the real skinner to defeat the villain. Meanwhile, Homer and his friends (carl, moe, lenny, flanders, barney, artie [after ep 5 of this season], herbert) find marge and the kids, but the mob outnumber them. Homer tries to get Hank on the good side, but hank refuses. Just in time Krusty, Smithers, Sideshow bob, wolfcastle and burns (after smithers convincing him) help the simpsons and the others, since they helped them in a certain point, defeat the mob. The two skinners notify everyone of the bombs and the mayor orders the bombs to be located and moved away. Fat Tony, even defeated, would ask the mobs across all countries to help. To prevent that, they think about using hank scorpio's weapon to wipe out everyone's mind about what happend. The real skinner would sacrifice himself to help activate the machine. Everyone on springfield would forget what happend except Maggie, since she would easily activate it. Hank would go to a max security prison, the mob would leave the simpsons alone aswell as the no-homer's. The Movie would end with the simpsons watching tv and homer strangling bart for not letting him hear what the tv said. As the camera slowly backs away, The end would appear in the skies.

It's sad we're talking about the shows end. I would end it with a movie where the power plant is the reason for never ageing and Mr burn being evil and time travel to stop that and the family become the age they should be and realise that they got everything they wanted and moe also get something since his the loneliest charectar
Everyone told me it started to suck after season nine but I watched it and i'm on season 28 and still find myself rolling in laughter, I don't think it will end or should end anytime soon
I have never, ever before heard of fans calling for the cancellation of the show that they are fans of. Somehow it seems appropriate that The Simpsons is the first.
I think the final episode should end with them slomo walking with cool shades down one of the roads in Springfield and one of the side characters playing the last like 30 seconds of we are the champions and then it cuts to a black screen with like an old fashioned television like static thing popping up so we think we missed something but then sad music starts to play whilst the credits roll for us all to cry to.

How it will end:
Homer dies because the simpsons wouldn't be the simpsons without homer
The tile how the Simpsons should have ended, sounds like what Hishe would do
I remember this episode and it definitely felt like a good ending however if they ever decided to refurbish the show on Lisa Bart and Maggie as adults I’m sure I’m not the only millennial who could relate and watch every week ❤️
I disagree that this episode is a satisfying ending. The future episodes don't seem to count. They are just like treehouse of horror and are just an exceuse for Jetsons spoofs. I would much rather have a normal epiosde be the ending for the Simpsons.
If you ❤️ The Simpsons, you may be interested in my channel! It's all about insane fun theories surrounding the Simpsons! 😀
Q: How should the simpsons have ended?
A: A long time ago.
For me it should have ended with Trilogy of Error. Simply because that's the last great episode thwy ever made. Everything after that is pretty much crap.
It should ends how it starts... at Christmas!
A heartwarming, family plot driven episode...
I thought when clicking on dis Simpson’s had ended
After the real finale then we gotta find a cannon storyline
Is really important for teen sitcoms to always be immortal
3:29 no matter how many times I hear it, this joke makes me laugh way more than I can justify.
That song at 10:08 was used by a metal gear solid youtuber i used to watch back in like 2015... jeez.
it should have ended with Larry Burns throwing a random party with Any Way You Want It playing
It's actually been projected to continue for millions of years into the future.
If it WAS going to end it should do something to make it look back to the first episode
i had a cool idea that Bart saw a bad future and used black majic to prevent it the episodes about everyone finding out and if moving on
Okay but couldn’t we have one more final episode that continues off of the previous “final” show? Another 10 years down the line. Showing the final bits of what would be the show and set up their future
Fun Fact: This was the first episode of the show I ever watched
HISHE be like “write this down write this down!”
Watching the Simpson’s now is like watching your pet dye. The pain is that it has been dying for 20 years. I loved it up until about 2001 but it has been a completely different show since. The plot lines are dreadful, the characters aren’t likeable and the jokes have been dumbed down.
It shouldve ended back in 2007 with the movie.
The only way I would like to see the Simpsons carry on is as spin off using some of the more popular characters. But it still probably wouldn't be great
They should say at one point "FINALE EPISODE HAPPENING TODAY" and then replay this Episode, and never release another Episode
I always wanted a final season solving all the problems through all the show and giving one last word to the villains/characters and a movie. It'd go along 1 year and it'd like this:
1- Bart would finally turn 11, but sideshow bob goes free and the family, worried about him, forgets bart's birthday. At the end, sideshow bob would finally realize murder is not his thing and apologize bart for his action, giving him a krusty show for present
2- Abraham (Grandpa) would finally visit the place mona's ashes were spread, but he'd realize hank scorpio's corp. are ruining the enviroment, so he'd try to stop it with financial help of herbert (homer's step bro).
Lisa denies any relationship with nelson and admits she'd be more comfortable with milhouse (Doesnt mean much but milhouse gets happy)
10- The shelbiville people steal more of springfield's monuments, but the springfield people manage to get them back.
How will the Simpsons end?
1) an irreplaceable cast member will pass away
Or
2) Matt Groening will finally decide he has enough money
Matt Groening has no control over when the shows ends. Fox does.
Loved the analysis makes me sad it didn’t just end there. Does anyone have any episodes past season 13 that they recommend I have to assume besides this one there must be a handful in like 20+ years
Even though I’ve only watched a handful of Simpsons episodes, this one always felt like a finale to me
I never see Spaced brought up. That's a phenomenal show.
I feel the movie was a great sendoff.
Obviously the show should have ended before that, maybe at Season 10, but the movie would have been a *perfect* epilogue.
the simps
i think the best way would be with santa’s little helper dying. the show started with the simpsons getting him and i feel like if they did it tastefully, emotionally and heartfelt
The last time I watched a new episode of the Simpsons was season 14, and even that was past its best before date imo.
i wonder what has kept it going all these years it's the longest running show in the history of television over 30 seasons
Does anyone remember that's Simpsons Futurama crossover and did you know Bender from Futurama lives in the basement of The Simpsons I propose an idea you know Professor Frink from The Simpsons what if he builds a cable and streaming device for any dimension or reality and he tells the Simpsons about the end of Futurama The Simpsons feel bad about it so they used time travel to stop it the infinite repeating timeline they're going to prevent it does that sound like a good idea that way Futurama can come back please give this idea to Fox maybe they could have a Futurama episode about the Coronavirus maybe fry accidentally brings it back to life maybe she gets fired from Planet Express and he gets a job at the cryogenics lab that unfrozen him and unfreezes a guy from the year 2020 unknowing to fry he had the Coronavirus maybe fry doesn't realize he's in the disease part of the cryogenics lab because he doesn't realize he walks in the wrong room maybe fry accidentally spilled his beer on the cryogenic people that unfreezes them
I won’t mind if it ends it has been a long run but I can tell if it does the movie or episode will be great!
It should end with the second movie it should zoom out from the Simpsons house look up towards the sky and the clouds cover
After seeing the title i was crying
I have never, ever before heard of fans calling for the cancellation of the show that they are fans of. Somehow it seems appropriate that The Simpsons is the first.
I think the final episode should end with them slomo walking with cool shades down one of the roads in Springfield and one of the side characters playing the last like 30 seconds of we are the champions and then it cuts to a black screen with like an old fashioned television like static thing popping up so we think we missed something but then sad music starts to play whilst the credits roll for us all to cry to.
I think the series should end with Homer waking up from the coma back in 1993 "So It's Come to This: A Simpsons Clip Show" with the original animation
“Eventually, lisa, bart, and Maggie will leave the nest.”
Like that’s ever gonna happen.
This music hits doe
Originally it was set to be the last episode. I think they should do a season of them being grown before it ends.
What show did he mention after "Life On Mars"? I couldn't make out the title.
The best ending to any series I've seen is the final scene of Blackadder Goes Forth
Some people are saying the show would end when one of the cast members die, but I really hope that wouldn't be the case. Imagine one of the most legendary shows, a show of which has been going on for 30 years, ending on a random episode. That would be beyond heartbreaking.
The Simpons: (sees the title)Nah i'm good
Rick Astley: (holding gun)SAY GOODBYE
JUST GREAT! Make me want to watch this!
At this point one of the main voice actors will pass away mid-season and it's going to be complicated on how to end the series.
This made me cry 😢
I know I’m gonna get flack for this from plenty but please hear me out...while I love your videos I got kinda mad on this one.
I’m watching for a discussion on the Simpsons, Matt Groening, and Fox.
When COVID started I started watching Breaking Bad because I’ve never seen it before and know nothing, which excited my girlfriend, family, friends, etc.
What I didn’t expect on this video was for you to start talking about the finale to Breaking Bad. You gotta give a guy a little heads up if you’re going to do that. It’s not even 10 years old yet, and I don’t see the correlation between it and the Simpsons so I nearly had a heart attack.
The show started with a Christmas special, ending that way would be fitting. How about with the death of Santa's Little Helper? It can end John Wick Style with them getting a new dog.
Hey, what's the name of the track playing in the background around the 9:00 mark?
At the end of season 12, that’s how it should’ve ended.
When will the spongebob end when will loud house end
I've heard 2 theories, a 2nd movie or Homer becoming POTUS. I think it would be great to combine the 2 ideas.
They said it’s going to be a loop and the last episode is going to be the first
My thoughts exactly.
Just like big bang theory and young Sheldon, it will have a spin off called old Lisa or old bart. It will never fully die
It should have ended with “so it comes to this” as Homer is given a definitive death clock eta by god himself
3:27 so There’s the youngest kids name but in one episode grandpa doesn’t know the names of the oldest kids and he thinks they’re gonna get stolen them marge says you tend to forget a lot then he says no I don’t he was trying to steal Bert and Lucy! (Bart and Lisa if you didn’t already get that)
