I just got a set of these and I'm definitely going to use your tips. I have been a hooper for almost 8 years and I think I can definitely do some stuff I do with double hoops with fans once I figure out how to move with them
This is so lovely! Thank you for making it so easy and speaking to the mindfulness piece. I am brand new to this. I’m a busy Mother of four looking for ways to make myself feel happy and release stress. I ordered some Fans and am So excited to get started when they arrive. Happy.
I hope you enjoy your fans as much as I love mine! You can follow @elementsofflow on Instagram to get more inspiration. I’m in one of her online courses learning more about fans and I love it! 💗
Love love love these tutorials, Your energy and the flow community I recently gotten into flow a couple of weeks with led poi and silk poi and found that I prefer wanting to learn with silks fans over silk poi
Sorry to be offtopic but does anybody know a method to log back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly lost the password. I love any help you can give me!
@Drew Ernest i really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and Im in the hacking process now. Takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Im so glad to see this up, i walk on a cane but want to get into silk fans for my performances. I feel like this video could help me with that But do you have any tips for flow artists that are mobility challenged, i have arthritis so i cant move as quickly or do much worh my knees and hips. 😅
My wrists are covered by skin grafts from a burn accident that occurred when I was young. I can see this practice being really therapeutic for them as well as the PTSD from the incident. Thank you for sharing 🙏 This is is a truly inspiring video! Are there any other flow arts you'd recommend for wrist strengthening/range of motion?
Yes, I would recommend hula hooping as another option for wrist strengthening and also yoga if you have not already explored that modality. Yoga has helped me build strength and decrease pain in my body and it compliments a flow arts practice like silk fans/hula hooping/ even poi.
@@SerenityFlowArts thanks for getting back to me and for the valuable advise :). I've tried hooping a bit, however, the stiffness in my wrists really seems to compromise the fluidity of the movements. Perhaps the fans will help to loosen them up enough to better handle a hoop. Much gratitude!
What do you recommend for people who are 5 foot 2 inches? The ones on Etsy are too long for me I find. LOVED THE VIDEO SO MUCH! Love you’re energy and style
Heyy, Thank you for this video! I have been using my silks since March now and I’m in love! I come from a fire fan background, so it was easy to pick up for me. You did give me some inspiration from not fully opening the fans! I like the look of the half openend fan now! 😊 So, thank you! Also, thank you for saying it’s not really about the tricks. In the Flow Arts community it feels to me like you have to know manyyy tricks or else you’re “not good”. And I have been kinda struggling with that. So thank you! Keep up the good work! Love to see more flow videos from you! Have you considered using fire fans? :). Much love💕💕
So I had a question that I can't really find an answer to I bought some fans but they are the really short type and I wanted to know if I could use them the same way as the ones your using if so how?
How short are they? Do you mean you want to flow with them in the same way I am in the video? If the silks are shorter they will just look slightly different when you move around. But they should still look very beautiful when you move with them! I'd love to see a photo
haha thank you ! I am no expert with these props but I do love to use them to flow. I always love learning more about them and will try them in the right hands next time :)
I'm thinking of organizing a choreography of Prince Ali and Friend like me from Aladdin (2019) and I think having the choreographers dress up as Arabian and have the ladies dance with silk fans and regular fans would be amazing.

You're welcome!
Thank you for the instructions! It seems you were holding the left hand fan with your right hand. As a result you cannot keep it fully open.
