Been following your channel for a long time and the content keeps improving and your ability to articulate shooting fundamentals is impressive. Thank you!!’n
Agreed. It's nice to have these informed videos. They aren't pretentious or off-putting and they have even helped me a bit, even after shooting for quite some time.
@TheHumbleMarksman great series and really enjoying going through it in preparation for 2023. Just a heads up the Shoot like a Boss playlist is contains only videos 1 & 2 of the series and not the remaining videos.
These videos are amazing. Your explanations are some of the best I've ever seen. I wish I would have found your videos before I received my "RUclips Range Ninja" degree and learned how to do everything wrong.
Excellent presentation! That breaks down the differences in "fast triggering" better than I've heard it from most people. I still take too much time at those short, easy shots! And, you not once mentioned "pinning the trigger" which is probably the dumbest thing ever - Ernest Langdon taught me that this is going slow at the least useful time and he's right! He also taught us to start the prep on the double action of our precious 92s during the draw. Because the double and single both break at exactly the same spot, the makes it no different, beyond longer travel.
Yeah, I completely agree that if you know how to pull the trigger correctly, you can shoot like a boss. It has been proven in LITO VALLES PSD that you can even hit a toothpick at 12 yards and the target plate at more than 20 yards far just holding the upside down gun with your two fingers only. Sir HUMBLEMARKSMAN is absolutely correct.
Well done! I like the wall drill, so it is now my drill, and I may or may not give you credit since I suffer from a very common affliction, kleptonesia, which means I remember other peoples’ ideas as mine own. Thanks!
It would be interesting to hear your opinion on using subcaliber (.22LR conversions and also airsoft) as training tools. I felt both had excellent potential as long as I accepted their limitations.
Good stuff. I'd like a video about your movement and how you drive your eyes through the course, maybe slowed down with commentary. Glasses that track the eyes would be outstanding, maybe at some point you can get a hold of some or borrow them. So much is eye related. A how to train your eyes to get faster video. The benefit of different holds in different contexts with iron sights + cowitness/third with a dot. A video about moving in and out of a position with detail on weight shift, wobble, regaining your stand or finding a stand that would work in the weird position atm. Good video.
Great lesson, very helpful. I think I am there with the surprise break and prep and press but have difficulty when trying to shoot faster (then say 0.5s). Any exercises you would recommend for increasing trigger speed?
Great presentation. I have an unrelated question - will the Tau striker control backplate fit on a MR 920? would it function properly? I think I really want one of those pistols. OK that's 2 questions.
Good day I hope you can add to my knowledge set, when I shoot fast and transition I catch myself tracking my red dot above the target and as I pull the trigger the dot pulls down and I hit the steel plate. What is the root cause and how best to fix this. My follow up shoot therefore also tend to be low. I am not a beginner, but I find myself doing this when I go fast and have less time to focus on fundamentals, but I am unsure on how to fix this?
Couldn’t you have just slowed your slap down to .25 ish to get good A zone hits and maintain a good split speed? All I’m saying is, you got a ton of A zone to use there at that .36 split. Excellent video!! Always enjoy watching!
Have you tried to slow the trigger slap at distance? It’s a controlled trigger press but with no stop after a prep. Most shooters who think they prep and press quickly are really not doing it. Slow motion video shows that many are actually slapping but slower.
Would like to hear your thoughts on trigger management relative to pull weight. Do you change technique or approach with triggers as the pull weight goes up. Shooting a pistol with a 5-1/2+ LB pull is very challenging as contrasted with a trigger at 3-1/2 LB pull. Thanks
Shot 2,000 rounds today with Frank Garcia working on grip and trigger prep. Say slap the trigger to him he will scream😁. Out to 5 yards he says slap away, after that, they become more dangerous the further you get. At 25 yards prep is paramount. Good vid. My forearms are sore!
@@douglassalley9117 I'm old...lol... And can afford (don't tell my wife). I buy 100,000 rds at a time where I train. They have big time reloading equipment and ties to all the suppliers. Hope you all find what you need! We are all in this together!!!!!
@@bshadrick I use to buy 1K at a time, but since you pay 1K for that I've started just buying 500 at a time. Recently I've seen 1K around 650 which keeps the per round down to less then .70. "Don't tell my wife", I've benn shooting for 3 or 4 years. My wife knows about my first gun Ruger Security 9 and a S&W M&P 2.0 with 4" barrel. But. in that first year I also bought: CZ-10, Spring field armory XDM mod 2 w/w" barrel, Sig P-320 with 4" barrel. I use the S&P for EDC. I mod it with apex trigger and Holosun 507C-green dot. I still get to go to the range once a week and sometime twice. I've been doing a lot of one box drills but I still go through 100 rounds. I use to do 100rds twice a week. Thank you for your reply.
Informative , but I'd say practice with the hardest to acquire sight picture because real life will probably be hard due to variety of circumstances . Always challenge yourself .
Agreed. I'm a new follower and this guy has really been informational. I have been in the competition realm for a while, not professionally unfortunately, but he's broken down and helped me fix a few of my little flaws I never knew existed lol.
I’ve been learning a lot from your videos. I have a quick question. Do you rest your support hand thumb on the frame? Does it actually touch the frame? Mine doesn’t touch and I’m trying to see if it’s better to rest it on the frame or not. Thank you😊
A stage planning basics video would be super helpful. Keep up the world class production! Thanks!
Seconded!
Agreed!
Yes!!
That explanation consolidates everything I've been taught about trigger press. Thank you so much for that!
I love the fact that you gave, distance, split time and showed the target. That is HUGE. Thank you.
thank you for doing these. Simple and to the straight forward. These drills will defiantly get my 3Ps on point!

Great content. Always looking to improve. These techniques will help.
Awesome video. I appreciate the effort and care that went into making this.
I know these videos are a little older, but they have helped me improve immensely in just a few weeks time. Thank you 🙏

Your videos are great, and very educational. I never subscribe to to many channels, and you just got a

Excellent video. Sig Sauer Academy is on my wish list. Love the 'shoot n' chase' drill at the end.
That was really good instruction!... excellent video 😊👍🏼
Awesome video thanks this better than class of different

Hahahah. I just recently saw that in one of his videos. I thought he was crazy for a minute

Good and informative videos lately man!
Trigger slapping absolutely applies in defense and combat shooting.

I don't know!! I don't think I want my finger on my apex trigger as soon as I clear my hoster! I would be afraid I would have a ND ans shoot my leg!!!
Wow your a great teacher - keep up the excellent work :)

A matter of practice, which most of us can't because we lack the facilities. Before leveling the playing field, you need a playing field.
