I am sure you will, just keep up flying and don't stop even if you hit a wall or other stuff in the first weeks/months. That's how I did end up like this.
Wow this is the first time when I hear theme song of GoT and be like nah this griffon is much better than those dragons of Westeros. Look at how swift you are in front of all the dragons! Ah I love this so much!
Orpan, I finally completed the griffon and the needed masteries. I was wondering if you could post some of your favorite locations to fly. I am having a hard time finding good places to practice and I am too new to really recognize the places you are flying. So far I have been mostly practicing in Rata Sum but keep ending up in prison when I fly too low. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Edit: and thank you for all the hard work! Seems the new height cap hasn't effected this too much
Yeah! Graz to your griffon! I hope you will have much fun with it. I like Queensdale to fly around or Gendarren Fields. DR and Lions Age are nice too. HoT is also fun :D
I'm not the original poster, but if you are still looking for the answer, I can share what I learned so far from my Griffon practising :) To be able to pull your Griffon up very high after some flying, you initially need to start your flight and dive from the very high place. For example, on this video you can see how brandstorm tornado in Jahai Bluffs can take your Griffon extremely high in the air (higher than it would be possible using the map terrain as starting point for the flight). When you make second wing flap during the dive, don't release your Dive key immediately after it; need to dive longer to store more power for longer gliding/higher pull up ability. Your Griffon slowly loses this stored height/power over time; the power loss is faster when you turn Griffon around and do little "jumps" to avoid obstacles on your path.
Basically it works like a falcon. There's actually a species that can dive at almost 200 mph and swoop back up. You're doing the same concept with a griffin. :) (just throwing this out there for anyone looking in the comments. )
I personaly would say it absolutely is. It can be so much fun. But if you aren't into flying, doing stunts etc, then I am not sure. Feel free to check my other videos for stunt stuff.
Yeah, if you are doing it for the joy of flying (and SPEED Griffin speed is something like > 350% movement speed. If you are looking for a reliable form of transportation then not so much. This is mainly due to having to have a high enough start point and map with cooperative terrain. Although, as you get better, you can use some tricks to help with that but it will always remain a constrain. That being said I have logged 100s of hours on my griffon and it is what I spend the majority of my time doing. Griffon is easy to learn but incredibly difficult to master (I mean *incredibly* even after logging so many hours I am not even close to Orpans skill level and may not be able to obtain due to lag limits). That's another point as well flying griffon requires some decent frame rate etc. I have significant lag when I get near objects at speed and this can lead to some annoying non-user crashes. Probably way more info then neccessary but get me going on flying Alestella and I get carried away (pun intended)... Happy Flying
I'm in awe. I'm just sitting here with my mouth open.-
I am happy that you enjoy those videos so much!
1:22 Guild Wars2: Hm, lets not do too much on the flying Tequatl, none will see that she has a unfinished leg.

I own a skyscale but I admit the gryphon has the closest feeling to flying
Skyscale is helicopter.
This is incredible work, and a better trailer for Griffon than any company could ever manage to make! Well done
I spotted many of the GW2 elements. Includinng the great tree from Tangled Depths. Well done.

I did a tutorial on my channel where I explain how it works. You may need to change your settings for it.

How did he mount up inside ice cave meta. Thought it was disabled ?
Please, can you tell me, where is the structure from 2:00?
Hey :D it's in desert highlands. It only appears when it's night, close to that mastery point whats in the floating building in the sky.
I reprinted your video on the Chinese video website, so that Chinese players in Guild Wars 2 can see the super cool gameplay
0:00 - 0:44 what area is this?
It's the big tower on the last HoT map.

How do you go that high with the skill? When I do it I lose my momentum way faster
