I Cancelled My Flight To Stay Here Longer! | Exploring Pai, Thailand

- If you haven't heard of Pai in Northern Thailand, you are missing out! Nestled up a crazy winding road about 3hrs from Chiang Mai, this small town has a population of only about 4,000 people, but it is a very popular place for travelers looking to get away from it all. It has a very hippy, bohemian, creative vibe going on and great for people who want to see more remote natural beauty in Thailand. I liked it so much that I decided to skip my flight from Chiang Rai!

*I highly recommend this travel health insurance because you don't have to pay out of pocket for your medical expenses and they have very reasonably priced long term plans. You can buy the packages for shorter trips as well, but they're especially fantastic for digital nomads and nomads who want regular health insurance when they are abroad. I am an affiliate of this company, but of course use the plans myself.

Hi Alina! There's no place like home, and there is no place like Pai, Thailand! Sometimes we unexpectedly find special and unique places when we are looking ahead to other plans. Pai has such a cool vibe, and the surrounding landscapes and natural features are awesome and wonderful. Remote northern Thailand is truly a lovely getaway for you and dad!
@alina try to go to Laos they’re a lots of beautiful places if you like the place like Pai you’re probably love Laos you’re better try it out
Lies again? Bus Driver Black Dog
What a beautiful and peaceful place!! 😍
Yes and that girl is also more beautiful 😊😍
Hi
I don't suppose many Farangs as an adult would travel with their aging parent(s). I'm sure your dad was very happy having his daughter as a traveling companion. Way to go, Alina!
hello
I just know the dad had NO IDEA what marrying to mom and inheriting a restless daughter would do to his life. I joked he got a "different virus" from his daughter, the 15 year old Japanese model. When she took off to Tokyo to do modeling, that had to be the beginning of a realization this was a very DIFFERENT sort of daughter! And now, they are off to Hanoi and the mountains of northern Vietnam! Does he tell stories in town?
I'd take this dad with me, too. He's cool!
Been on holidays with my mum more than once no dramas remember parents have the money 💵 !
❤
A stunning explorer trip in Pai, Thailand!
The city of Pai - Thailand is very interesting. Especially for people who suffer from the stress of big cities. And only 30 USD/day. My favorite breakfast: Veggie Breakfast (06:09). An ideal place to rediscover the fullness and beauty of life. Loved the suggestion!
Alina and Dad are a perfect team to travel. Pai very calm slow living, beautiful natural like mineral pond to relaks, beautiful serene of sunset and a china village there.
Very informatif video to explore new destination like ecoturism.
Hi sweet nancy
Thank-you, Alina. What a lovely area. I just checked the Pai weather report to see the humidity is a comfortable 26% - very unusual for Thailand. All the best to you and your father.
This video is one of my favorites from Thailand. Thoroughly enjoyed watching every minute of it
Aw thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Hello Alina, It looks like the perfect place for a longer stay. We have not been there. As always, thank you so much for the lovely tour. A chill place to slow done and smell the coffee you
drink. The video was so beautifully done. Namaste 🙏🙏🙏 to you and Dad. Sending you much love ❤❤from Jim and Harriet. Richmond , Va.
Thank you so much!
Great seeing you bring your dad to enjoy his twilight years ! Wishing you both a wonderful time !
Hello Alina,
nice remote place!
From Chiang Mai I was to Me Sa Valley, which was also a remote place. At least in the days, I was there. It was so relaxing to hear the nature without all of the motorcycles.
Best regards, Ralf
We love Pai and have been many times and hope to be going there this year. Hopefully it hasn't lost it's small chilled out vibe.
Nice to see your Dad in your video Alina
Pai looks like a right chill place, a good escape from the city. Those day trips look like an awesome thing to do on a nice day but I'd be equally happy just to chill on the veranda lol.
🙏 Alina! Glad to see you go back to Thailand once more. I believe you will enjoy more this time than the last time when you were there. Love your videos! 🙏

I’m in southern Thailand now… I have all my paperwork in order and I’m going to get a bigger bike and start touring soon… I’m really into photography and want to go to as many temples as I can and photograph them…. Pai looks like a wonderful place… I’m sure my travels will take me up there in the future….your young… so enjoy this time that you have for exploring before the business of life gets a hold of you… it took me 40 years to get back here…. Great video… I hope to be up there soon….

You made this trip very beautiful. Thank you. I hope you enjoy your trip. 😊

Lovely to see your video, I'm now 50 and was there back in 1994 as a 21 yr old backpacker and loved the place. Never felt so free. I'm now back in BKK and hanging out as a digital nomad and this video popped up. Haven't been back for 15 years but your video has inspired me to return! Thank you
Once you are back home in Canada, if you decided to build a home I'll bet you will have some interesting architectural ideas after staying in Asia.👍😎🇺🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦

Found Pai 32 years ago when it was just a little backwater with my wife. At the moment we are in Sukohthai which I recommend you visit when possible. Keep travelling, Mick….
I’ve heard very good things about Sukhothai!
Pai is actually next to where I am, Lamphun. I like the way you narrate and the places you've been to are really interesting places that anyone would love to go. I alo love to see how you take care of your dad and bring him to these places and another important thing... you've got really refreshing lovely face and soothing voice.
Amazing Thailand north region with smooth and beautiful culture..
Love your content! ❤ It's helping us plan our upcoming trip to Thailand. Pai looks amazing! Do you think it would be too hot to visit in April?
Day time temp would be quite high but pleasant at night. But then there is Songkran Festival 13-15 Apr when you be wet all day having fun splashing water on strangers.
@@rudhthongvanit682 Thank you so much for your response! ❤
I'm glad! April can be hot, but up north it would be nice.

Spent one night in Bangkok and didn’t take to it so will be interesting to see where u go and what you do there x x
Тайланд такая удивительная и красивая страна!
thank you so much from thailand
The same feeling i had when i reached there. Keep going experiencing the natural surrounding. Great feelings...
Haven't been to Pai yet, but the town reminds me of Chiang Khan. Highly recommend that place. Check out the sea of clouds in the winter at sunrise
Pai is my favorite place too.
Thank you for visiting Thailand. If you love nature, the south of Thailand with many beaches will make your dream come true.
Love that Alina. Happy you really enjoy nature and modern amenities. Take care. Indeed it's still cool in SE Asia, while the rest of the world is in Sub-Zero
comfortable in Thailand, you can still walk here until you are satisfied, let alone staying in a traditional, beautiful atmosphere and fresh air...amazing
Thank you so much Alina Welcome to Thailand again
Beautiful place! Grilled cheese with tomato soup is a classic meal for me! Much love to you and your family ❤️
Love seeing your dad in your videos!
The first time I saw your video, very good. Checking out everything on Thailand and your insight on Chiang Mai and safety is super helpful. Planning on moving there next year. My cousin will move full time there this year. I like it for mountainous surrounding, I like mountaineering/ hiking and Chiang Mai is relatively close to my beloved Himalayas. Well much closer than from my home Clearwater Florida. I tell ya Pai looks fantastic place to visit.take care and safe travels.
Once ride from Kuala lumpur to chiang mai, Pai definitely a great place to stay although I stopped there for just a few hours for coffee. Will return n spend more time thee. Smells of flowery field is still fresh in my minds

Hello, Alina, it's really nice place to visit. Will definitely in my next visit to Bangkok -Ashi
Been to Pai a few times. awesome!! Gotta get back soon.
Nice video. I’ll be in northern Thailand and I wasn’t so sure if I should go there. I’ll definitely stop there now, for at least a few days. Thanks
Hope you have a great time!
I visited here in year 2018. I lived by a river that was beautiful. The only thing that bothered me is that during the daytime I was very hot. Usually I went out for shopping after five.
Excellent. Looks fantastic.👍😊🇹🇭
Excessively smokey this year. Myanmar after harvest rice fields burning and many forest fires. Even with the temporary smoke problem Chiang Mai is still a great place to retire.
Thailand welcome Have a nice trip in Thailand.
Wow! Your dad was amazing on the stilts. I would have landed on my head or my butt.
So enjoyed the journey you are doing with your dad. For my mom's 90th, in 2006, we did Laos and Thailand. We stayed in the countryside in Pai. Walking to town everyday. 2007, we stayed in town, which was great so we could party the night away. I returned in 2008, solo and every year until 2019. Unfortunately, my mom ended up in the hospital xnmmas/new year 2019. So I missed the 2019 scheduled Jan trip. Then Covid arrived in 2020. My mom celebrated her 107 on Jan 1. We live together. We still have happy hour. She really enjoyed Pai too. We shut down BeeBop, one night, which no long exist now, when I celebrated my birthday in 2007. I had to approach traveller's on motorbikes to give us a lift home - 3 on a bike, which we had done 2 times before. Two wild and crazy Cougars🤣.
Pai, is my home away from home. I miss it so much. Can't wait to return. More to say, but have to run. Would like to send another message regarding recommendations. However, so much has changed in 4 years. I know my frequent places are still around, which I'm sure you have already discovered them.
Excellent video. Hope to chat soon. Have a Margarita for me, at Jikko Bar, if you end up there. Hello to Marco, Angie, Sandy and crew.
Have a blast in Pai.
Safe Travels.
Jacquie 🇨🇦 🍁
Great information regarding the place u visited
Welcome back.
Thanks. The yellow looks good on you by the way.
Great video. I want to go. Love the water
Great Place when Dale from Vancouver and I traeled there from Mae Hong Song in 1991 only one guest house back then and dirt streets. We went onward to Fang , Taton and took a boat to Chaing Rai on the Mae Kok river. Sad to see how commercial LANA has become. I always thought would return but spend most of my days in ISSAN now. Take care of Dad seems as he is enjoying the time with you. CHOCK DEE
Hmmm… maybe not yet Pai, but most of Lannaa was already touristicly exploited in ‘91. The Mae Kok boat trip Fang-Chiang Rai with police guard, stopping at the hot spring to boil an egg, I did in ??? ‘90!
Pai was just a stop on the northern loop to MHS for those who did not want to pay for the flight with a ATR of Thai Air.
Alina I am Stunned by your Beauty 😊
Good luck 👍 💓 and ihope you ok 👌 and take care
Wow beautiful place my friend
