In my experience, using ToneX or NAM to capture amp has been definitely more reliable than my QC. Result is more accurate, especially in the attack, that’s the most important for the feel in my experience. QC utilizes a very small neural network while ToneX is bigger and NAM is even bigger. I hope NDSP will allow training of bigger NN on computer, off line, or via cloud. QC has enough DSP power to run ToneX level captures. That said ToneX needs to reajust input trim and that’s very annoying. NAM doesn’t have this issue. I think I’m getting the NAM player pedal asap
I can’t remember I saw/heard where but Robb Flynn of Machine Head said they couldn’t recreate the sounds of Burn my Eyes, reckon you could give it a go?
I would've buy this thing but I'm not that advanced with the programs , recordings and these kind of stuff...i have to wait a little bit more until i learn. Freat video anyways
just wanted to drop a quick thank you because your capture the tone series is a damn life saver, I am lucky enough to have an old fender gdec amp and if I copy your amp settings and add extra EQ in my DAW, it sounds perfect! and I can also multi track without prerecording its amazing. keep up the amazing work
Thats great that you're getting on with your Cortex! I've had mine just about a year and agree, such a great piece of gear. I don't plan on doing captures anytime soon, BUT I am debating on getting a Synergy 50 Power amp as a "practice" jam amp, theoretically should be great too.
@LAMBCHOPPERS, I want to start using headphones to play at home for privacy and wanted to ask you what is my best option for a great tone? Should I use software like neural DSP or STL tones? Or get a quad cortex or similar unit?
I’d start with desktop software for now. Plugins are pretty impressive these days. Quad cortex is outstanding, but probably overkill for what you’re wanting for now
I find it hard to pick one that I prefer. The DSL sounds very cool at first, but after switching to the JCM800, you realize how the DSL has way more treble than is really needed for a good tone. In a mix, that treble can translate to a thin tone that struggles to create its own space in the mix.
@@metalinsights9664 Booth are awesome, but i find the DSL more agressive and opened. Perhaps with different headphones would sound different to me... Cheers from Portugal 🤘🍺🇵🇹
@@portuguesebeer5069 I have the DSL, and at first, when I heard them in the video, I was like, wow, I actually like the DSL better, but upon repeat listens, my ears zeroed more in on the fizzy treble that I consider a blessing and a curse with the DSL. I don't think your perception would differ with different headphones, as long as you are listening to both through the same pair of headphones.
Thanks so much for sharing this preset and the ones last week. They sound killer. I'll try this one out at volume during band practice tonight.
Let me know how it goes 🤘🏻
Great work, brother! Really enjoyed this
I appreciate these videos man, I've learned a lot about tone AND killer riffs by watching you. Cheers!
can i get the same tone if i dont have parrots😀
Unlikely bro 😂
First and Holt awaits bro
My favorite Exodus album tone...now available to grab from CC, thanks soooo much!

I'd buy the Quad Cortex if I could just get your GH capture tones.

H sounded waaay better than G 🤘
Ollie got a new pal? Oh and nice riffin as always
Amazing bit of kit, I can really see why these are so popular.
Can I politely suggest that you save the captures as amp cab or just amp etc? Easier to understand what your captures. They sound sick
Sure mate, will do
nice
random question but have you ever tried to do SRV dumble sound ?
No, he’s got great tone and so unique. One of my favorite guitar players
FORWARD MARCH

I make quite a lot of NAM models and I am impressed by how fast the Quad can capture the sound (even though it lacks some highs).

But how to make a Quad Cortex look as cool as a room full of amps? It’s a serious issue.
You're the best! ❤
Monster tone.
Man I just love your videos and your set up. And so glad you’re still here. I love your birds. It isn’t loud there is it ??
No noise at all, the only sound goes through my headphones

I Prefer the tone of the DSL!
Would be nice to compare with the Silver Jub!

@@metalinsights9664at least the brightness of the clean channel of the DSL is not a blessing at all, imo.
