Chris sang an Aretha Franklin song at one of his concerts, to honor her when he found out that she passed that day! In doing so he stated, in his opinion Aretha is the greatest singer who ever lived, if that doesn’t tell you where he gets a lot of his inspiration, nothing will, from that statement!

Chris has written a huge number of songs besides the ones he sings himself. There are 2 more singer-songwriters like this. Rag N Bone Man (Rory Graham) in the U.K. and Avi Kaplan in the USA. Rory even sounds alot like Chris. Try "Human" from him or he does one with Pink "Anyway Away From Here".
Avi's voice is alot smoother, he had professional singing training, but his themes are the same and soul the man does have. "Change On the Rise" or "First Place I Go" I'd suggest for him.

So glad to see another fan of the Uber talented Rag N Bone Man. I bought his album immediately after hearing his "Human" song on here, way before his music started getting used in commercials in the US and getting recognition. Amazing album.
