I just love this guy even when he was not in form I still had that faith in him he will come back to his ways
I really wish him the best. I never slated him because I know he’s more than capable of pulling through. It’s rare, but at least it’s there. Lingard itself isn't bad. What was terrible was the formations they were often thrown with and a defense that was often questionable.
Man Utd's motto has always been "Attack is the best form of defense" but you'll still need solid defenders at the back to keep guard if the front doesn't break and since Moyes's period, we haven't seen strong backliners like Ferdinand.
That's why even with players that performs well like Lingard, they can't shine fully. In fact, I would even go one up and say he's better than the other attacking mid we used to have, Pereira.
