    Good topic and great video, I’ll have to check out some fish stores the next time i’m in Columbus visiting my parents.
    Telling potential buyers to drop to their knees is a big Flex 💪🏾 move! 😂

      I haven't been to any in a while but Reef Systems is always worth a visit and and there were 2 in Gahanna, not sure if they're still kicking. There may be new ones since I moved tho.

    You inspired me to buy the same sump with how much room it has. Upgrading from a reefer 350 to an IM 200 EXT. Saw this sump in your video with the giant middle area and searched it out and found one left online so I grabbed it.

      Its working out really well as a frag tank. its a nice sump. Edit: Oh yeah, you will love the 200 EXT as well. I helped a buddy move one and it's HEAVY. took 5 of us and we still struggled with steps and doors, lol. Its the same as my tank, just 12 inches longer.

      If I never fragged it, it would probably be beach ball size. however, it has fragged its self at least once - 30 polypss cannot be supported on the base of a single polyp skeleton, lol.
      Thanks for the kind words!

    Man, love your setup. I've got a Waterbox 150 (48x25 x 21). I was thinking about upgrading to this setup. Mind if I ask you why you upgraded and was it worth it? Great work and channel. Appreciate your contributions to the hobby! Love those lights. Going to be hard for me not to sell my Radions and go with those lol.

      Thanks man. I am 100% happy with the upgrade from an equipment standpoint but my corals were rocking before the upgrade and not all of them enjoyed the move, lol. Still super happy. Honestly, the only reason I upgraded now was I didn’t want a rimless tank, let alone a 5 year old rimless tank that had been moved twice, running on my 5th floor apartment otherwise I was not looking to replace it. I saw one too many seam failure videos.
      I would say keep the radions if you’re happy with them unless you want more spread or the sleek form-factor of the Stratons. All these expensive lights can grow the hell out of corals lol

    Nice! I might have to try this as my chaeto isn’t doing the best. How are you keeping P04 down?

    • @NBurgReef
      @NBurgReef 10 месяцев назад +1

      I do weekly water changes and rinse my frozen food (soak in a cup of tank water and strain it before dumping) otherwise nothing specifically. Maybe I have less fish than most and having a lot of coral mass will eat up PO4 a lot too. My PO4 isn’t really low tho, 0.08 - 0.15 ppm most of the time.

    WOW! But dont you need some bacteria like bio balls, rubble or bricks in the sump? Dosnt seem like you would have enough live rock in tank! I made a hige mistake and made a 20 g long into a frag and to much rubble and 2 inch bio balls, coral skeltons ect all over bottom and impossible to keep clean!

    • @NBurgReef
      @NBurgReef 2 месяца назад

      There's plenty of live rock in the tank. You don't need as much as you think as long as you keep your nutrients in line with water changes and skimmer. There are some VERY successful coral farmers that use absolutely zero live rock or bio media. the glass, racks and corals themselves are enough. As long as you done pack the tank with too many fish, there is no need.

    I just setup a frag section in my sump. I'm wondering if you have to deal with algae at all down there? Do you have a clean up crew in the sump?

    • @NBurgReef
      @NBurgReef 7 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah actually just had to replenish the clean up crew. Realized I’m the snails and hermits died when I got an algae bloom.

      @NBurgReef 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@anthonylineberry yep, had them and a fish get sucked into my skimmer intake so I DIYed a little guard for it, otherwise not bad. Astrea snails can get stuck in frag rack holes tho so best to investigate every few days

      @tomg5405 Have you tried turning the cyan channel completely off? I thought the same thing until I turned cyan off and UV and violet to 75%, blue and RB at 100% and white around 30-40%. Cyan washes out colors and I'm not sure why it was added.

      If you do weekly water changes and have a lot of coral biomass, its worth a try, if not, I would stick with mechanical filtration!
