This is mindblowingly good. So much more then just a demo
Mike DOES THAT!!!😉
(I bought the Strymon ‘Dark Side’ because of him!!)
Just ordered one of these beautys. Your video helps a lot - thank you! Great playing!
a good tool in the hands of a master craftsman == work of unparalleled beauty!
Great review!! Great pedal, great player.
Jam pedals killing it as usual - and Mike too!
Thanks. Jam rules
I have this pedal and it definitely is a great sounding unit, and not just for Pink Floyd stuff. Keep in mind there's a send return after the Big Muff style pedal so you can run other drives or a volume pedal etc. I run a Strymon reverb pedal stereo at the end of the chain and I'm happy.
The pedal is incredible, but the guitar player of this video is even more ! Thanks 🙏
Mike, that was genius, damn, so good!
He's so ridiculously good at what he does. His skill is mind-blowing.
Very cool variations and delivery there man.The Graphics alone call you to explore it's workings, lol. Thanks for doing this demo, and the knowledge of this pedal.#keepitsmooth
You and Andy Martin are the two best demo guys
I have them making me a custom board right now! Can’t wait.
One of the only companies that I would have make me a custom board. I love each one of their effects.
That is an AMAZING rendition of that song!!!!!!!!!! You should put it out as a cover.
Thanks!
I have zero interest in this pedal but it is always a pleasure to hear you play! That "Dogs" cover was awesome and "Money" was really interesting too.
Mike is a monster, I would pay to go to a concert where he just demonstrates his gear
this is... insane holy shit
Love the Money: Impossible cover
Thanks! I’ve used this arrangement a few times and my band plays it like this
Up next: .
Jam Pedals Even Flow? You could play "Dogs" with it but they'd all come out like butterflies.
:)
Great stuff Mike. You have such a distinctive "voice" and style - the mark of a true virtuoso.
Thanks! That’s a nice compliment
@@popintothechemist You're welcome :)
I would love to own this.
Amazing sounding pedal. Mike, do you work around the clock to pull these demos off every week? It's a staggering amount of material you come up with on a continual basis.
I do work hard. This “pigs” arrangement I came up with as I was making the demo. This makes me work faster. Plus I love doing it so that helps
just looked at the pedal before clicking play and thought "delay with tap tempo and subdivison, compressor, OD, fuzz, wait what is going on here". Like a multi but with all the tweakability of individual effects. Very good idea, I'd like to see more of these types of units.
I nearly bought one used. He wanted $750AUD neg. Idk why he was selling - desperate times I guess.
Wish I had that $ at the time. He ended up selling for $500 + a trade.
I still have dreams about what might have been...
@@mattgilbert7347 oh you know what, I didn't realize this pedal is like 18 months old. AND $1000USD, wow. I suppose that adds up though, as if you could buy the individual effects from EQD, Walrus, et al. for less than that.
No subdivisions I thought?
@@spieglass3211 Not in Australia. We get price gouged over here.
Not anywhere I suppose! But that'd be the cost of a Kemper in Oz. Maybe more.
@@spieglass3211 Got it.
Well-named, Spieglass! I'm blind as the proverbial.
That comp into delay 9:45 reminds me that lots of delays can do an adequate slapback but nothing does it like bbd. Drool.
Hey You Whitehouse..ha ha... brilliant demo Mike.
Can you explain how the seagull works? Is a latch switch? Just step on it a one seagull squawk? More pressure on the switch more squawks?
somehow I feel destined to own this gem.
Hopefully they rethink the graphics so users can tell which section is what effect.
It’s pretty intuitive. Plus after a day of playing it you just know where everything is...
@@popintothechemist A day? That is not plug 'n' go.
That thing is a freakin behemoth of a pedal
Eggs, sausage, chips and beans and a tea.
Is that really mono? For more than 1600$ CDN mono?
no reverb?
man thats a sweet unit. if stereo with built in ir's or user loadable, i'd grab one for sure. i'll look further into them
I LOVE it. I think it sounds better than digital. All analog goodness
Great playing! These sound like fun! ...but saving for another guitar.
Thanks. Totally fun and inspiring pedal
Agree ... Very nice playing
I don't think I will ever understand why people would want something like this. It's basically a whole bunch of regular JAM pedals in an unchangeble order (did they even add some effects loops in there? Or just one maybe?). Don't get me wrong. JAM pedals make some real cool stuff, but there's a tubescreamer in there. There are literally thousands of tubescreamers out there. This one may be good, but will it be the best one you can get? What about the build in Big Muff? Same story. Is this the best Big Muff you could find? The best chorus? The best delay? Compressor? It may very well be that one or even two of their pedals are indeed exactly what you'd go for if you'd build your own board, but all of them? Never! And there's no way to swap a pedal if you wanted another one. And what if you'd want to add some extra effects? Where do you put them?
Sure, you get a free seagull. It's like getting a plastic toy with your BMac menu. It's funny. The whole board is funny and yes, I could play a gig with it and I'll be covered for a lot of stuff, but man It would annoy me after three songs.
But what if you're a huuuuuuge PF fan? Well, David Gilmour changes his rig more often than I change my underwear. I remember at one time he used over 150 different pedals (only talking about stomp boxes here.
And you know, I totally get it. If you're in a Pink Floyd tribute band and you pay $400.- for an old, but hard to find concert poster and you have an autographed album, signed by Nick Mason, that you bought for 300 dollars, then this will be your next toy. I'd personally go for something like the Dark Side by Keeley and add some other effects.
Again, JAM pedals makes great stuff and if this is what you want, don't let anyone tell you not to do it. Certainly not me. I'm only fascinated by the idea that people will actually buy it. I just don't get it. Sorry. :-(
You'd save a bunch of cash and even with the unchangeable order, just stick a Mooer E-Lady and/or Phase90 clone up front and you're good to go.
The Waterfall + Red Muck + Delay Llama+ would equal the price of this pedal, give or take 50-100 bucks.
Btw the Tubedreamer is no ordinary TS. I have one and it blows all (except the Keeley Red Dirt Studio Deluxe) out of the water, full stop. Ditto the Red Muck. That thing is fkin incredible.
There's an effects loop in there plus an expression-in.
Matt Gilbert ; I’m glad you’re happy with it. I love the Waterfall, but I’m less excited about the rest. Fortunately we all have our own pedal dreams. It’s the concept of this thing I struggle with a little. And maybe it has something to do with the fact that I’ve changed my rig from a bunch of pedals to an ‘all in one sollution’ three times in my life as a guitarist (I’m old). I regretted it every time. I understand the ease of it all. That’s why I made that choice myself. Like I said, three times! But I’m glad I’m back using a bunch of good pedals. Anyway, I wish you the best time with this board! 😊👍
Yeah I mean it is what it is... A pretty rad grab and go board. Sure you can go digital and do all sorts of stuff. But there's definitely an appeal to someone using this to cover 95% of classic rock in a band with easy setup.
You did make me think about it a little deeper before I order one. You make some good points.
Does it cover all Floyd’s Albums you reckon? Or only a couple? It’s $899 I believe it’s a steal. The OD alone is worth it
It pretty much can cover all Floyd stuff...
Mike Hermans Thank You so much 😊
Those rosewood fingerboards never looked better, Mike. Oh, and your pink does flow (Or was it your flow does pink?)
I think Pink does flow. Haha. Thanks!
@@popintothechemist I insist: Most gorgeous-looking fretboards. Wood seems to really breathe! May I suggest (but, Mike, just forget it if you must) that you check my 'Blues for FZ'? I'm sure it might sound great in your hands and gear. All royalties for you :)
Petition for Andy Martin and Mike Hermans to collab!
Very attractive unit. They know it, hence the hefty price. Would love to own it but having already a Line HX EFFECTS....it does not make sense.
Same!
I love this unit. You never see full analog units like this. It sounds so good. You can also customize your own with whatever pedals Jam makes too...
mike you make my life miserable..you are so good at what you do and I want to buy all the pedals that you review....
Finally a pedal demo with actual good guitar player, saw one the other day, the musician in the demo was so bad made the pedal sound like trash
Gilmour Floyd kinda thing
Oh the pinky winkies in a box...
Sounds amazing but $1000.... gonna have to pass, unfortunately.
It’s just a bunch of Jam pedals stand alone ANALOG pedals in one box. That’s why you get that price tag. I think it’s worth it’s price...
@@popintothechemist definitely. No argument there.. Great playing, btw, Mike.
*Very nice. But not $1000 nice.*
Six pedals in a box! With the Seagull we count seven! One power supply, no cables between the effects. Handmade in Greece, all analog, great graphics, a company with a enormous reputation. Mate: think about before you cry ;)
That thing is a freakin behemoth of a pedal
For $1000 MSRP it should be
