Congratulations on your new business. I got a 1977 242 DL from a mechanic friend of mine in 1981 and had that car for 21 years. So these clips bring back alot of memories.
You can test the injectors with a noid light. Some parts shops carry them. Simply unplug the injector and plug in the light. If injector pulse is present, the light will flash. The old LH 1.0 and 2.0 systems are pretty simple to diagnose. What makes it a little goofy to test is that they're batch fire. And those tiny little metal injector retainer clips go FLYING when you try to remove them. Be VERY careful when you do this!!!
Before you install the new sending unit check it for continuity. There are a bunch of units out there where the 12v signal doesn't make it past the RF choke. I asked the guy who processed my exchange to check the replacement unit before he sent it out to me, he said they had 5 in stock, and 3 of them were bad. Also check to make sure the float doesnt leak. I've heard that this is a common problem too. Cheers!

Congrats!

Wild that might explain why my 88 wagon has been going through so many fuel pumps! Thanks for the heads up!!
