I share your perception of the art you showed vs the art in the Barron-Reid decks. Agree very much so, it is disconnected feeling and offers nothing at the elemental essential divine feminine level... something can be felt very directly when there is transmission and when not. I find you perception to be clear, and actually an objective perception of what is... beyond "personal" subjective preferences in this case. I so appreciate your fine discernment and articulation on this...

I too have put off purchasing decks like these.
What feels inauthentic about them for me, is that the Goddesses have been expressed in a manner that standardises an ideal of perfection.
Raw and real goddesses show up as they are, in their primal and ancient expressions which care nothing for modern humans ideals of beauty and perfection...
becos authentic beauty is imperfect, raw, and oftentimes frightening.
That is where the transmission lies, in the integrity of their beingness, in the profound celebration of honesty.
It is this energy of authenticity that the true energy of any entity or teaching is channelled cleanly via transmission. No filters allowed.
Love these conversations that you share with us 💗🙏

I too have experienced a disconnect with the various “Goddess” decks and have not purchased them because they just seemed to be commercial and not of any real spiritual value. The one that I did purchase was the Dark Goddess Tarot by Ellen Lorenzo-Prince. The reason that I bought this one is that it doesn’t try to be more than an expose’ of world history and cultural anthropology dealing with the many ideas and images of the goddess throughout time. I was wondering if you have seen this one and what you think of it? Thank you making this video and for being courageous enough to tackle this difficult topic in a sensitive manner.

Hello Sadhana. Thank you for joining and sharing your knowledge regarding this subject.
My reference to the DM and DF as being a new age thing is regards to applying a gender to these energies. I refer to them as you do, Divine Energies. Again the issue is slapping the absolute title of male and female on them and depicting them as such. I find that's an attempt to pigeonhole and simplify a concept that one doesn't have a full understanding of.
Again, thank you so much for continuing the conversation. You mentioned your own lineage.
Can you recommend some references or guidebooks for one who may interesting in learning about the yogic path?

You're welcome and thank you Queen Auset. There is a wealth of information on the app "Satyam Yoga Prasad". The icon is a swan. U I have the app on my iPhone. Should be available for android as well. There is more reading there than one could ever need. If you are interested in the book I was reading last night, go to 1st Chapter Books, then to Meditation to the fifth book "Sri Saundarya Lahari". The introduction of this book discusses the DF.

Thank-you for this video. I bought the Kali oracle deck, it is only my second deck and I am new to this and I thought I could not go wrong with Alana Fairchild. I bought it to learn more and to have a better connection with Kali, but from this video and Oya’s Girl video I think I have made a mistake by buying this deck if I am serious about learning more about Kali. I am still able to return the deck as it is unopened. I now feel that if I open the deck I would be disrespecting Kali in some way. Anyway my main reason for writing this now very long comment is to reach out to anyone who can direct me to any teachings or books to learn about Kali, I would greatly appreciate it. Many thanks!

Understanding Kali is only a part of the journey. It begins with learning about Shakti in all her aspects and integrating each of those "faces" within your own divine feminine energy.
Start reading about the Mahavidyas so you understand the whole picture. Here are a couple of links: vedanta.org/2010/monthly-readings/the-mahavidyas-the-powers-of-consciousness-conceptualized-part-1/

Thank you for your in depth perspective. I am so drawn to the beautiful artwork in Alana Fairchild's Kali deck, but I fear it's more due to the commercialism. I don't want to be culturally insensitive, or not educated about the meaning of the Mahavidya. Or the fact that so many of the images are model-esque, which perhaps so many of the images don't have to be. I appreciate your knowledge. It has really helped to hear about some parts of the deck that are lacking, that were incorrect, that didn't go deep enough. It is too bad that there was a disconnect with the art and the messages.
I was especially skeptical because Alana Fairchild puts out so many decks, involving do many Goddesses, I didn't understand how she could be doing it justice.
If I get this deck, I an inspired to use it as a starting point, to springboard learning more.

Thanks Kristen for your thoughtful comment. When deck creators start publishing a massive number of decks, I am always skeptical that they are under pressure from their publishing house. And yes, that deck or any deck can be used a spring board for further study. Best of luck with your journey 😊

The comments about these cards not being enough could be said about a lot of decks in general. Hopefully whenever people start with oracle and decide they want more, they will have gained enough discernment to do more. Spiritual paths take work, you can't just buy a deck and automatically become enlightened. This entire industry should be seen as the cash grab that it is ("commercial arrogance" is spot on) and the community overall should be more consistent about when they express their disapproval. This is not the only deck A. Fairchild has missed the mark and she's certainly not the only one. I wish more people would keep that same energy for other decks and creators.

    • @IntegrativeHealingwithSadhana

Thank you for joining in the discussion Artemis. As long as people understand that what they learn from any oracle deck is just a sampling, I think we are ok but when a deck creator overshoots and tries to teach too much in a deck, it just loses all credibility with me. One deck that comes to mind is A Yogic Path Oracle - I can't even begin to comment on that one.

The Wild Kuan Yin oracle was made using pre-existing images of Wang Yiguang's art- and Wang Yiguang wasn't even drawing Kuan Yin! His art is not of Kuan Yin but of Tibetan people, often children, and yaks. So his art was appropriated into an intention that wasn't in the art.

    • @IntegrativeHealingwithSadhana
      @IntegrativeHealingwithSadhana  3 года назад

Hmm . . . may I ask you a question. Do you feel the same way about all curated decks? Does it make a difference if the art is in the public domain or not? I just sent a message to Wang Yiguang as I'd like to hear from his perspective.
The energy of Kuan Yin has taken many forms and wasn't expressed in a female form until sometime around the 12th century. Is it even possible to express the energy of god pictorially? The freedom and flow of Wang Yiguang's art captures a beautiful resonance between the human's and animals.
Thanks for getting my thoughts rolling on this topic!

@@IntegrativeHealingwithSadhana I think when a deck uses traditional depictions of deities, that's a strength. Most traditional imagery is in the public domain because it's ancient. And I find that on the whole that I prefer those depictions- nowadays people seem to transpose current beauty standards onto their depictions of deities, especially goddesses.
It makes a difference to me whether the art was intended to be of the deity in question. Alana Fairchild's other Kuan Yin oracle- the one that's just called 'Kuan Yin oracle'- uses some pictures which are actually depictions of Tara or Chang'e. Some of the pictures are the artist depicting Kuan Yin, yes, but many aren't. If I didn't know this, maybe I'd be able to connect all the pictures to Kuan Yin... but knowing what I know completely prevents me from seeing those pictures as Kuan Yin and even makes apparent to me, which of the pictures were actually the artist's depiction of Kuan Yin and which were of another deity, or of no deity at all. Benebell Wen's review of the deck further showed me that the way the art has been curated for that deck has a lot wrong with it. Mostly due to the white gaze on the orient.
I really love Wang Yiguang's art and I wish the Wild Kuan Yin oracle was called 'The Wild Divine Oracle' or 'The Flying Yak Oracle'. I wish it didn't have any connection to Kuan Yin. I think it's a wonderful deck to connect with playfulness and trust. I don't think it's a deck that should have been linked to Kuan Yin. There's also been controversy over the fact that Kuan Yin is a Chinese deity and Wang Yiguang's art is Tibetan, given the politics of what China has done to Tibet and also to Tibetan religious practices...

The Living God loves you so much and so much that He sent His holy Son Jesus from heaven to earth, to be born of a virgin, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins, and to be put into a tomb 3 days and rise from the dead the third day, and He (Jesus) went back up to heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, and unbelieving, & abominable, and murderers, and immoral persons & sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus and put your true faith and trust in Him today & repent.
