I am Catholic, and I am so pleased with the election of Pope Leo IV. As a mendicant Augustinian who has taken a vow of poverty, the Pope’s vocation has always been to serve the least of us, the poor and disenfranchised. I get the sense that he is a deeply spiritual man with a broad empathy for all of his fellow men. As a moral, decent, and kind AMERICAN man, he is the quintessential opposite of the lust, greed, self absorption and narcissism of your current President.
Those were my thoughts as well. As an old “recovering” Catholic, I smiled at the choice. I sense a chess move on the Vatican’s part. Picking an “American” whose character, intellect, & role can elegantly demote the perverted allure of the pretender in the Oval Office. It puts the old conniver in a tight spot. 😂😂😂 I might now enjoy the next few years.
