My son reads Biochemistry at Imperial College. I read The Old Man in the sea, and it’s a beautiful book. However, I’m intrigued. Why biochemistry students should read this book?

What differences (if any) do you think the interviews being online this year will have, and do you have any advice separate from the ones in the video for online interviews?

Interesting question. I may make a video specific to this topic, as it's obviously quite important. But I'd say, firstly, make sure your camera is well set-up. Everybody looks better when the computer is slightly elevated with the camera kind of angled down on them, as opposed to looking down over the computer. You'll want to make sure you're dressed smartly/in clothes that turn up on camera well and make sure your background and lighting is all good. I'd make sure, as much as possible, family and other household members don't intrude and give you lots of breathing room not only during the interview but before it too. Making sure the internet is stable and fast ahead of time is also key. As for a kind of "hack" off the top of my head, you could sticky notes/talking points in your eye line but behind the computer. The caveat being it needs to not be obvious if you do jog your memory. It might take some pressure off if you have the things you anticipate discussing in front of you. Although personally I'd prefer to prepare well in advanced and then take the plunge. If you have any books or materials you'd like to discuss, bring them on camera and show them off to the tutors - I'd totally geek out. Other than that, I'd treat it as much like the in-person interview as possible :)
