Not gonna lie I disagree with Destiny on a very large majority of his opinions, but watching a long form video of him for the first time opened my eyes. I was pleasantly surprised by his ability to understand nuance and that he is willing to be wrong. I will definitely be watching him more often in the future because it is a breath of fresh air to have my world view challenged for once.

The main reason this turned into a shitshow is because of the beginning. By refusing to acknowledge he watched the video the purpose of the debate was never defined. We know the crux of the debate was the content Will made criticizing Hasan for making baseless claims without conducting any due diligence. But because Hasan didnt acknowledge he watched the video the entire crux of the debate was rendered meaningless. That is why he could shift the arguments to was bombing Kyiev good or trying to get Will to explain his position on these topics.
Hasan is honestly behaving horrifically here. Those of us who were around these communities at the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine war are witnessing the rewriting of history. Hasan attempting to reorder timelines such that he doesn’t look as utterly inept as he showed himself to be is insane, and unfortunately it’s clearly working. Not gonna lie I disagree with Destiny on a very large majority of his opinions, but watching a long form video of him for the first time opened my eyes. I was pleasantly surprised by his ability to understand nuance and that he is willing to be wrong.
I will definitely be watching him more often in the future because it is a breath of fresh air to have my world view challenged for once.
I also don’t agree with destiny at least 50% of the time if not more - but it’s obvious that he’s intelligent and doesn’t resort to shady tactics in a debate.

He’s been on cumtown before to give you an idea of what his humor is kind of like. Politics wise, he’s dirtbag left, definitely aligns with Hasan on Israel Palestine. But I think he was trying to not make any facial expressions bc he agreed with hasan but didn’t want to endorse how he was acting or looking during the convo
The main reason this turned into a shitshow is because of the beginning. By refusing to acknowledge he watched the video the purpose of the debate was never defined. We know the crux of the debate was the content Will made criticizing Hasan for making baseless claims without conducting any due diligence. But because Hasan didnt acknowledge he watched the video the entire crux of the debate was rendered meaningless. That is why he could shift the arguments to was bombing Kyiev good or trying to get Will to explain his position on these topics.
Hasan is honestly behaving horrifically here. Those of us who were around these communities at the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine war are witnessing the rewriting of history. Hasan attempting to reorder timelines such that he doesn’t look as utterly inept as he showed himself to be is insane, and unfortunately it’s clearly working. The number of times hasan can be abysmally incorrect about geopolitics, yet somehow worm his way around it despite us having literal video evidence of everything is unbelievable to me.
This can only happen in a world where information is so readily available and in such vast quantities that it is impossible for anyone to actually sift through. There’s just… to much hasan content for the average person to be expected to be aware of his graven fuck-ups.
