- www.johnchow.com The Tesla mod shops wanted over $1000 to "de-chrome" the Model X with vinyl wrap. We DIY it with $20 of Plasti Dip. Came out great! Watch the video to see how we did it.

Looks good. Only issues I see as a possibility is the door handles since they’re constantly being touched and the mirror since it folds constantly.
You did a great job. I've seen some come out bumpy because they did too many thin coats. You did nice thick coats and it came out very smooth.
how's this holding up 1 year later Mr. John Chow?
seems too thin to me, reckon I'd have done another coat.
Spray thin layers first 2-3coats and let i dry between. Ur sprayin to much on first layer
You spray the way you want. I'll spray it the way I want.
@@MotoTTZ as a prof painter.... Nevermind
@@frank-7279I heard many say this definitely gonna take advice
Nice video how much did it cost with masking tape and did the door handle hold up since it’s constant touched
That’s my question as well.
How is this holding up two years later?
Not bad at all. The door handles are showing some wear because you're always pushing it to open the doors, but the parts that are not touched by hands look as good as the day they were put on!
how about the mirrors folded? you still see chrome.
I fixed that here ruclips.net/video/cTkqbqudTiU/видео.html
looks great! how did you spray the folding part on the side mirrors? and what about the front "grille" and front fog lights?
Just checking in! Wanted to see if the dip is still holding up, thanks!
Lithium battery gases gone thru your head you supposed to do light coats.
I love my chrome, but that came out very nice!
Elon, please just make the trim black on all cars going forward.
I love the color of the wheels. How did you do the wheels? Did you have them professionally painted or did you do plasty dip or something like that?
Those are factory.
Look verty nice
Thanks!
Good job!I did not see it in the Video, how many cans did you use on all the chrome on the car? T
Three cans will do the job.
I’m trying to figure out how you didn’t get it on the paint. In the areas that didn’t seem covered by painters tape.
You just peel it off after it dries.
Very informative. Thank you.
Looks great!
Does this scratch easy or start peeling off on its own?
Once it cured, it's really hard to scratch or peel.
how long did you wait between coats?
30 minutes.
How’s it holding up? Thinking about doing this
Holding up great.
How long can keep?
Years.
How has it held up....?
Pretty good. Still nice and black!
@@MotoTTZ awesome !! Think Ill do the same to my car, thanks for the reply.
Very good video mr. China man
How’s it holding up
Pretty good!
You spray painted a $80K+ tesla? Have you gone mad?
so because you paid $80k, you over pay a shop to do something you can do yourself? Also, its not spray paint (permanent), it's plastidip, which can be removed.
Great, but why?
Because it looks better. Chrome is so 2000.
