Too many whiny people about this cover. This is the first time i've seen this myself, and I've listened to as much music in my 35 years that most listen to 70 years. It's coincidence that alot of people drawn to this have similar artistic interest.
I was hoping that was nice island scene from the DR and everybody says it's just a painting lots of other people use. You live on an island, take the same picture outside, sheesh.
I think, at this point, it is a pure provocation to use this cover, it is impossible that they do not know it has been used by other bands, however they got my attention in some way and this shows that they were right
I absolutely LOVE Bierstadt, but using always the same 2 paintings is getting a little bit boring. Artists, please know your art history and you'll see that there is a lot of beautiful paintings that are worth to be an ABM album's cover. That being said, the EP isn't bad.
I think they often prefer Bierstadt over other artists because he's the master of creating a broad, blissful atmosphere. There's not much deeper meaning or hidden context in his paintings, only nature, bliss and harmony. This makes the perfect setting for albums like this or Echoes of Battle (Caladan Brood, 2013). Aivazovsky, for example, used to paint things and people in motion, to express pain, despair, rage, or hope. Something ABM might express in lyrics, but don't tend to put out on the album cover.

@@williamsmith666 oh wow nazi guatemalans ? Also sorry for late reply man did nazi your message. Well, the U.S did come over to guatemala and did massive genocide toward the native Americans during the 1970's because they though the native Americans were Communist but they were not. the U.S also did a lot of war crimes there so yeah it would make sense for em to use nazi image to piss people off. i am no nazi, but i am pretty proud to be native american :D

Definitely not an original thought for the cover or the music, but still pretty good.
