Hopefully he comes up with something even more original, this country album has convinced me rock hasn't died. Samurai flicks and anime are 2of my favs (next to heavy psychedelic rock) though so maybe I'm biased just by that, but from what I've found this transcends everything else I've heard from him

So, the channel I listen to put up his new album the other day as the album of the week. Totally loved the new sound! Not expected, but nothing surprises me with Sturgill. He plays it all! The surprise was the anime on Netflix! I don't even like anime, but with his music, it was spectacular! It did make me wonder which came first, the anime or the music. This cleared it right up.

As a gen x'er growing up I watched GForce, Robotech, Space Battleship Yamato, Voltron, etc. which led to Appleseed, Ghost in a Shell, The Light and Darkness War, Afro Samurai, Samurai Jack, etc. Those comics/cartoons along with some other stuff like Judge Dredd, White Dwarf, etc. always seemed way more interesting than the rest of the stuff out there. Cool stuff Sturgill and thanks Joe for having him on.

Sturgill I live in WVA coal and river valley country, Mars is in Retrograde. Is getting requests, we are digging the entire grove of it really . I heard a small excerpt of Tim Magraw saying how important a album is to the Artwork itself. I agree there is something different about art in music. The Devine aspect I suppose. According to the word we can sing a song the Angels can’t sing. Mars in retro has a Waylon feel to it. Great work . More please!
