Before becoming the FIRST hip-hop dancers for the Platinum recording rap group, Whodini.. Kangol & Doc were one of the hottest breakdance groups in the country. These are two of their appearances on local NYC TV shows after winning a dance competition at Radio City Music Hall. Видеоклипы

Yea right that shit looks old as shit
When "Hip-Hop" was innocent and FRESH. CLASSIC !!!
Before the devil got a hold of it after that it was a rap for real.
Before white folks got to it....
Before the controllers
@@nottodaylilbaldhead is that what’s wrong with today’s hip hop and rap 🤣🤣🤔🤔
White news media used to be sooo cringe when they "discovered" something new and amazing happening on the "dangerous" streets of New York City or Philly!! But as a kid back in the 70s and early 80s it was the only way you could see your culture on television for a brief few minutes. Now I miss those days white corporate media didn't know anything about what Black & Latino culture was up to!
Pre UTFO!!! Doc moonwalk FLAWLESS!!! They BOTH were DOPE!!!
At that point, it was still called the Back Glide.
Exactly were Michael Jackson get it from wow 😯 history culture
@@jessicawalter9775 I’m glad I was in the streets dancing during this time. They like to rewrite history but I remember the Moonwalk being a totally different dance than what MJ called it. It was the Back Glide or just The Gilde in the streets.
@Michael Davis it was invented in the streets of America. Jeffrey Daniel adopted the Backglide and people started calling it the Moonwalk.
@@lemondishonor7736 That’s right. No disrespect to Michael...but “we” breakdancers were doing this BEFORE he made it famous during the Motown 25 (back in 1983).
Two extremely talented young Black American men out of Automotive High School and George Wingate High School, Brooklyn, respectively, changed the trajectory of global contemporary dance.
Black Americans set the standard ✊🏾

Rip 2 the legend
No gangster stuff. Just 2 brothers coolin..rockin 2 da beat...
Kangol Kid is Haitian !!! Haiti 🇭🇹 stand up !

Who would've thought these young cats would become legends!!
damn, RIP Kangol, my hero !! RIP Shaun Shiller Fequiere aka Kangol (Kid)(ex-UTFO, Whistle), legendary hip hop producer, songwriter, break dancer and emcee pioneer (55) ;-( Kangol Kid was the first hip-hop artist to endorse a product through his official sponsorship with "Kangol headwear", his signature hat has been inducted into the Collection of the "Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture", Shaun is considered to be one of the "pioneers of hip-hop", Kangol Kid was originally a breakdancer along with his dance partner, Doctor Ice, in 1984, "UTFO" became one of the most popular rap and breakdance acts in the country on the strength of their breakout single, "Roxanne, Roxanne", during the mid-80s, as "Roxanne, Roxanne" gained popularity and chart position, UTFO was voted best rap group, at the 1988 "Urban Music Awards", had featured spots on Don Cornelius' (d. 2012) "Soul Train", "The Phil Donahue Show" and performed live for actors such as Dustin Hoffman and Tony Danza, UTFO was the first rap group to perform at Harlem's "Apollo Theater" as they opened for Hall & Oates and the Temptation's Eddie James Kendricks (d. 1992) and David Eli Ruffin aka David Ruffin (d. 1991), in 1987, UTFO released their most popular selling album, "Lethal", the title song featured the rock group "Anthrax" and later that year became the number one rap album in the United States etc. !
Our culture is so creative. I remember looking forward to going outside to see who can do the best moves.

Thank UTFO and Full Force for the Roxanne saga...✊🏿✌🏿
The second host is very envious of the Power of these young men.
I can imagine Educated Rapper watching these two performing on this tv show and saying, “I need to join these guys. They’re fresh!”
Man I remember carrying my boom box everywhere and rockin UTFO and many others!! Just bcuz the music was so dope and you want the world to take note of. I wouldn't dare today!
I got a bluetooth speaker, I will still rock HIPHOP on the street.
Dr ice brought his friend breakfast while he was sick and it made him so damn happy he loved his homeboy
As a former breaker myself, those were the year kids were been creative coming with new form of dancing. May his soul continue to electric boogie 🙏 after death. R.I.P brother.
🔥🔥🔥🙌🏾... love the way they kept their cool everytime the host tried to be slick with them too
IKR trying to correct the spelling and annunciation. Talking bout spelling it like buggy, like horse and buggy…that’s not how you spell or pronounce boogie. You don’t spell boogie or book with a “u”

Well I'm Kangol and that's a fact
And for some reason, my name's on everybody's hat
One theme that I tell me they didn't know
That I was Kangol from UTFO
But to be another Kangol, another Kangol Kid
That would be irrelevant that's right, that's what I said
To be a mellow supreme, the consequences are extreme
Not even fantasize that dream
When my mind goes wild, my friends will all see
I got finesse and I'm as cool as can be
I survive in a fire like Doc and E, for being so extraordinary
Because my knowledge has shown that
Until a year when MCs rock a microphone
And from the day I was born, never did nothing wrong
Just rocked all night to the break of dawn
So you know I'm gonna rock it, give it all I got , it's like another day
And I can even pop, definitely talented I acquired the skill
And come to think about it, you know what I think I will
Be the best there ever was and ever will be, ever more
better than he employed in consideration
UTFO will organization, so bite it!
Bite it!
Bite it!
Epic! A moment in time never to be forgotten. Wish I could go back.
RIP Kangol Kid! You along with many REAL RAPPERS brought us 80s teens great music!! Im in my mid 50s, but I still get down to your music, as a matter fact, about to turn up the volume!!
Dope!... I first caught them as UTFO...loved the group!... Didn't know that the 2 were this dope as dancers, first. We had it better in hip hop back then. No guns, no gangs, no degrading our sisters and no drugs..... we need to get BACK to that!.... Praying for Kangol's family and friends 🔥
Now that was dancing! Wow simply amazing yall! 💯🔥
Dr Ice and the Kangol Kid before Mix Master I C E and The Educated Rapper better known as UTFO untouchable force organization just a fun fact for you youngins

This is great! Awesome teamwork between the two of them. The interviewer on the second clip was kind of a jerk, but KANGOL handled it like a true champ!!!
I'm glad to see that Electric Boogie has been coming back too! There are lotsa' young kids doing it these days. KANGOL KID and DR. ICE are true pioneers here. And don't even get me started about UTFO!!!!
The second half of the clip they were interviewed by Gene Rayburn of Match Game, which was a game show that came out in the 1970's into the mid 1980's.
They never knew they would become legendary.

I remember seeing them do this routine live on stage with the closing act being run dmc as a child that shit was amazing!
UTFO was, & still is, one of the greatest, yet underrated hip - hop groups of all times. The way they move & rapped was phenomenal. I hardly believe that we will ever see this type & style of dancing in this lifetime again.

It's incredible. Who knew that mime artists like Marcel Marceau and Shields & Yarnell would be the "fathers" of break dancing? Legendary street dancing. Come on! Black people are SO creative, so talented! 😍
Yes, remember, the four biggest influences on breaking were Marcel Marceau, Shields & Yarnell, James Brown, and, Michael Jackson. So, "miming," and, the "boogie," gave birth to break dancing as we now know it today.
Thanks to being God’s chosen people.

R.I.H Kangol Kid I come from the Golden Age of Hip Hop and he was definitely a Pioneer U.T.F.O for ever
UTFO: My favorite Hip Hop Group
PIONEERS!!!!! It's hard for many of us to appreciate SEEING something like this "FOR THE FIRST TIME" when there was NOTHING LIKE it before. With RUclips showing how street dancing (as it was called back then) has EVOLED, progressed to incorporate so many different styles, moves, nuances. The boundaries as to what you can do, IS BEING PUSHED ALL THE TIME, new moves, new styles even are being invented. Yet ALL of what we see, would NOT BE POSSIBLE without the Pioneers, the Founders, many of who their names are not even put in no hall of fame. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE A STREET DANCE AND HIP HOP Museum recognising all those who "contributed" to the culture, however small it was.
HIP HOP MUSEUM should be erected to preserve the legacy, the history, the story.
(Im old skool, what hip hop it doesn't carry generally speaking a POSITIVE MESSAGE which it used to generally back in the early days of hip hop)
Love UTFO. Kangol Kid, so talented and just a beautiful soul. Rest in Paradise.
