The model from the movie does not have a "sports chrono" and there is no launch control, we can see a start with the release of the brake pedal, with the really launch control can be 0.5s faster ...
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the noise. In the UK the rivals all have Diesel engines pretty much and it sounds much better than them. Put some options on it in the T guise and you’ve got yourself a decent little SUV.
Thanks for the video, always excellent quality! Any chance you could have figures for Macan S and GTS? Some motor journalists claim figures are not worth the 12K difference in price.
@@madrx2 Unreliable is the typical notion from the vast majority of people that actually never had one. Aesthetics is always a matter of personal taste.
Imagine paying that money for a Porsche badged VW + Audi parts bundle. It’s probably exactly the same body and chassis as the Q5 - rear seats, door panels, boot all look very similar in structure.
Nothing wrong with sharing parts if it means reduced costs and that Porsche can sell these to continue making the supercars we all love. Besides, its a known fact that over 2/3's of the Macan is designed in house and not borrowed from Audi. The two cars are distinct enough from each other and I'd take the Macan any day.
Did I detect a key? Surely keyless start would be the way to go. The small increments on the speedo would confuse the hell out of me. I'll pass on this one thanks, I'm getting bored with all the SUVs on the market today.
Isn’t this the $100k car that doesn’t even have basic adaptive cruise control or even AEB standard which any base model $30k Corolla or Mazda3 has? Feels like “luxury” carmakers are in a race to see how little standard equipment they can put in a car and still have it sell at exorbitant prices based on the badge on the bonnet. I’m sure it’s lovely to drive, but at this price I’d expect no less than what is standard on a $40k car like heated seats without ticking a $2k option box on top of a $90k starting price.
Also what is that horrendous digital readout for the odo/speed that looks like it’s a cross between a 20 year old Volkswagen Polo odo and a Kmart microwave display.
Porsches upselling strategy is awful, but their car's suspension setups and overall feedback is just amazing. I test drove an M2 and then jumped straight into a very basic 991.2 4S afterwards and it was eye opening. It's leagues ahead even in the lower non-GT models. Unfortunately, with the steep price curve it's also unobtainable. Porsches have always been the doctor cars in Germany, so things are as expected.
@@dafaqking I don’t doubt that, I watched reviews of the Taycan and it looked like it was absolutely glued to the road. But on a car like this that is heavily sharing the Audi Q5 platform and basically barely changed from 2014, the pricing is still ridiculous. I’d go as far as to say this car really should be worth $50k or so in despecified base form. At that point I’ll believe them that every dollar went into the pure engineering of a drivers car, and that nothing was spent on extra equipment. But as it stands, they still have a huge margin to amortise R&D costs from a decade ago for the “engineering” and really should be offering at least the kind of equipment you’d get in a $35k Mazda CX-30 or so.
@@User-cb4jm I don't want to defend Porsche too much here as they definitely put a premium price tag on their products. But 36% of the Macans parts were reengineered by Porsche. And it's not like they changed a few diameters. The completely revamped and homologated them. If you take a look at the parts list of German premium cars, you will find a lot of upgraded, reinforced parts even between different engine sizes. This is fairly obvious with BMW, where a 325i probably has completely different brake (caliper, disk, pads, mounting parts, probably even the brake booster) and drive train parts (don't get me started here) than a 330i. Did the car stall out on the second on dash clip? What was that?
you should mention the quad exhaust is also an option
Without LC its the same as a XR6 as in previous PD video.
Why don’t they use the same 2.0 turbo boxer engine that is in the 718 Cayman instead of this VW derivative? Anyone know why?

I have the S. It is more than enough.
Lexus NX 350 with 279PS is 1 second slower to 100. Kinda odd since it weighs less
Shitty gearbox from Toyota. That's why.
The Alfa Romeo Stelvio is faster than this one (also 280hp but with a ZF8HP gearbox)
because its not Porsche😂
Three letters: PDK!
@@samborlon I very much prefer the ZF8HP, it’s almost as fast but it’s much lighter and much more compact because it is a single clutch.
