- Lauded by horror fans as one of the best new horror movies of 2023, When Evil Lurks. This Argentinian horror is directed by Demián Rugna, which you might recognize as the director of Terrified.
But screw all that, the more important thing is that we announce the new permanent cohosts of Horror Movie Talk. You'll never guess who made it!
I like how the new girl curses more than both guys combined.
We're good Mormon boys
Love the new additions. You guys go! Who needs that other guy? I keed, I keed. Wish you well, David, wherever you are.
you did great with the spanish, Max! Love to all from Argentina.
The movie here surpassed in revenue every international movie on theatres, country-wise.
Jaw dropping is not enough to describe what the experience to see it on the big screen was like. It was definitely comforting to have other people around to be scared and surprised with. I personally didn't like the ending that much, i kinda laugh at some of the little girl performance at the end hahahah but the practical effects are incredible.
The most direct translation instead of 'the rotten' would be 'the infected', i don't know if that explains more.
A detail i really liked is the relationship between Pedro and his oldest son, the whole 'apple ice cream' which is the only thing he likes to eat, apparently. Although he hasnt seen him in years, you can see all the ice cream boxes in the freezer at some point, like he was stocking them. Plus, it's stated he tried to kill him at some point, blocking the air escape from the gas heater, and that's why he has a restriction order.
anyways, loved the review and the podcast, i'm here for more!
We back in business baby! Let's effing GO!
Congratulations Max and Sydney! I am so glad that Horror Movie Talk is continuing!
@16:08 _"people are saying it's the best horror movie of 2023..."_
I have been meaning to watch this film for awhile, but have sorta put it to the side because even w/a 60 inch 4k smart TV, I have trouble reading the subtitles sometimes & get annoyed because if i look away or dont see something, i have to rewind it & watch the scene again, but I definitely am/have been curious about it, & kinda have to watch it now, because if people are saying it's the best horror film of the year, that would mean it's better than _Poor Things_ (which as of right now it's my number 1) & _Talk to Me,_ which was my favorite before I watched _Poor Things._ If you havent had a chance to see it - do yourself a favor & watch it. It's 3 hours, & came out right at the deadline, but if you're a fan of some of the old school horror monsters like Frankenstein, & Dracula, you *_have to_** see it.* It's a fvcking *wild* reimagining of that same sort of concept. Also Emma Stone is naked like *a-lot* in it, & shows it all so any fellow pervs out there, this is a heads-up ✌🏻🧔🏼♂️
We have a 65” OLED and the subtitles were very easy to read!
Great episode it has a old school vibe but with a new twist. I'm glad the show isn't over
