Not really,its not too much about the color over there. Its about who sells the best and is the best representation of that culture. People were against J.Lo playing Selena,regardless of her color,but they grew to like her b/c her star quality and her talent brought a large crowd to the latin pop world.
J.lo has definite Native Amerian features and heritage. Shakira is Lebanese. If you see pics of Shakira before she started singing in English she had black hair and was very successful. It's the racist U.S. market that makes them dye their hair. There isn;t as much racism in Latin America because we are a mixed people. We aren't a race.
