I just gradually went up to a 10 bright white-ish blonde from a 4-5 mid brown (box dyed!) and I LOOOOOOVE the Goldwell Colorance 10P! It is the most beautiful shade! So bright and pearlescent! Thank you for this excellent video!
About to try the 9gi for the first time and I’m hype! I have it to add to 9v but I also have 9t. Might skip the 9t in there tho. Love the freedom that shades eq gives.
OMG, Thank you so much for this video!!! This is the most informative video that I have seen about toners and the results that they produce. I almost started crying because I found EXACTLY what I needed. I can get the color blonde that I actually want now
Sorry to be off topic but does any of you know a method to get back into an Instagram account? I stupidly lost my login password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me!
@Mario Tyler Thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Blondes beware - Sally’s has a new generic redkin shades line.my hair is bleached to level 10’( it took me 3 weeks ) the swatch for the 9v is a light ash blonde .I used it alone with the appropriate developer, followed instructions - MY hair came out dark brown purple. If you’ve ever used ion purple additive it’s like using that on its own . If I was going for dark brown this would be amazing but I was not - I was going for a nice all over 9v color. FYI :(
Thank you!!! It has taken my highlights to the next level, I’m obsessed! There’s only one beauty supply where I’m from that carries it, and they slowly have less and less off the shades I want. Plz tell me you know of an online supplier?!?
I thought CC might help me catch some of the names. It didn't, but it's worth it just for the comedic value "Gold Oil expressed horrors are some of my favourites" JZQ (Shades EQ) has a nice mole step to it" ".. for this I use Goldwell because Jay-Z is sometimes too dark for me" " I'm sure it's far more frustrating than funny for people who need Closed Captioning though- RUclips needs to stop dismissing a large part of the population.
I know I'm late to this part so getting a response probably won't happen. What an amazing video! I wish you could do my hair !! went to a salon yesterday to have a toner gloss put on my gray blended yellowish highlighted hair. goldwell 10BP was used and left on for almost 20 mins..... my highlights are barely noticable now and I'm a little to ashy. what can I do to get this color out as quick as possible and retone with either shades EQ or goldwell.?
I could listen to u talk about toner all day 😂 I’ve been trying to find the perfect tone for my hair every time I get my hair done it comes out brassy 😫
Hey I have a question...I have an expensive wig that is too ashy for me that I want to warm up some. It is a Gardeaux wig...one of their ashier ones. Its a level 9 at least, Im sure...which shades eq should I add and how would you do it? Would you go all over? I LOVE what you did to the girl at the 2 minute mark...I bet that was hard. It looks intense. It is gorgeous! Omg and at 9;29 that is incredible
Hi!!! Can you provide details on how you would use these products (and exactly the products) to do a root touchup/highlight on the hair? During COVID I can't see my hairdresser and need to do a quick touchup before I film myself. Thank you soooo much!!!
Janet Dungan its because only licensed pros can buy them...its not guaranteed to work if you order somewhere else like amazon as an unlicensed consumer :/
I am a little surprised at what you said about the Colorance not lasting as it is supposed to be a 'demi-permanent' and is supposed to last longer than the Redkin Shades EQ. I tried the Colorance 10P as a toner last week - but didn't have the Colorance developer so used a 10 volume developer - and it washed out as you say in 2 washes - but I assumed it was because I didn't use their developer. Now I am thinking that what you say could just be the case whether you use their developer or not.
It could be that you need a protein filler so the color has something to stick to. Goldwell makes a good one . After you have washed your hair spray your hair with the protein filler then color your hair. Also, be sure to use a sulfate free shampoo.
I don’t do Instagram. Would you consider doing 3 min You Tubes of some of your favorite or most popular cases? A photo of Instagram images with a photo of the formula for You Tube. I’m subscribing JUST IN CASE ❣️
My hair lifts to a yellow, but i have fried my hair and have had to cut it off. I have a good bit of white silver growing in, but i tried to color my hair a silver gray because lengths were blonde and i wanted a better blend while growing it out. It is darker than I care for. Is there a way to tone it lighter silver white?
I was wondering what shades eq I should use to brighten a client. I did her her hair wanting a platinum but it came out too dark with too much ash. What should I put on that to brighten?
Soooo I kinda toned my hair too much, too grey... what would you recommend to get that whiter look? Can I tone again or do I wait? I doubt you'll see this but worth asking...
Don’t tone it again! That would saturate it even more. It should wash out a bit by the end of the week and leave you with white if you lightened it to level 10 first.
Dawn dish soap a few times. Chelate your hair. It will fade. If you cannot get it to lift do a bleach bath with 10vol developer for about 5 to 10 minutes and it will lift out. Then retone if required.
Do toners only effect the level they are directed to help? For example can I have a toner and mix like a 6 for my root and a 9 for my ends and just apply it to my whole head or should I apply the 6 to my root rinse and then do the 9? I just never understood if I could mix all the toners together.
Brittany Lay I use the Goldwell Colorance Lotion for my developer- I think its a 5 volume since it just deposits and doesn’t lift, not sure off the top of my head. Two parts developer one part demi. I used to work with Aveda, but let me tell you... Goldwell will blow you away! ❤️ Thanks for commenting!
colorsbykayla thank you so much for your reply! I toned my hair today with 60 grams developer 20 grams 10sb, 10 grams 10v, 10 grams 10p. It was perfect!! What is your favorite root tap by goldwell?
When you tone on wet hair, the water acts as a 'buffer'. If you want your toner/gloss to be stronger, dry hair is the way to go :) I personally almost always tone at the bowl on wet hair and never have issues with it not being as effective, but if your client has an issue with longevity you might want to apply dry. Hope this helped! Thanks for watching!
I have very orange root from using a high lift color. Which one would you recommend for me? My ends are white (because I used to bleach). I suffered lots of breakage and switched to high lifts (I love joico and Majirel they leave Hair Soo Soft).
Miss Viking Its hard to tell without seeing your hair in person- but when hair is orange (no yellow at all), it is at a level 7. If its a orange/yellow its at an 8. At those levels you can’t tone it ‘ashy’ so your options are to either breakthrough the warmth by foiling and lifting to at least a level 9 and then toning, or you can tone it down creating a shadow root at a darker level to minimize the warmth. If you go that route, shades eq is a little translucent so it won’t cover most of the warmth you have. I would use a mix of 6/8n from joico lumishine with a little bit of 6 or 8na depending on how warm you are. Hi lifts are great for some, but sometimes they leave to much NRP (raw warmth) exposed, if that makes sense and its tricky to prevent and get rid of that without foiling through or going darker. Hope this helped! :) Feel free to follow and message me on insta! Thank you so much for watching! :)
colorsbykayla ...too afraid to foil. I already burned half my hair off by bleaching and I’m content with having healthy hair even if it means ugly color. One day I might do highlights or otherwise fix it, but only when my hair grows out long and strong. For now I want to grow out healthy hair and will be content with gentle toners.
No, but put a protein filler on your hair before coloring it . Goldwell makes one it is in a spray bottle. If your hair does not have enough protein then the color will have nothing to stick to. Lightning ( bleaching) the hair will strip out protein and you must put it back in before coloring your hair .
Clear is used to dilute the color. So when she’s saying shades is darker I think she means more pigmented. It’s also recommended to use shades eq on clean completely dry hair. Process 20 minutes otherwise they are washing their money down the drain. Any time you mix a developer it is oxidative, permanent color. It’s less alkaline so less aggressive but still an oxidative dye. 5 minutes does nothing for longevity especially on damp or wet hair.
I just gradually went up to a 10 bright white-ish blonde from a 4-5 mid brown (box dyed!) and I LOOOOOOVE the Goldwell Colorance 10P! It is the most beautiful shade! So bright and pearlescent! Thank you for this excellent video!
Can you put everything you discuss in the description box
Just jot it down, I am thankful for the info she shared, sounds like she works full time as a stylist 🙃
About to try the 9gi for the first time and I’m hype! I have it to add to 9v but I also have 9t. Might skip the 9t in there tho. Love the freedom that shades eq gives.
Those are really nice and bright. Think I’ll try this line next.
I agree Shades can be darker initially. That can be a good thing though, as it wears it brightens.

Love this video! You do such a great job & love pics with your descriptions. Thanks.
Hey there! Love the look at 10:33 . What did you use for that base? Or if it's natural, what would you use to get that color?

Colorance 10V is my all time FAVE - however have in mind all Goldwell Colorance wash out in 1-2 washes! But Redken Shades last long time !!!
I am a little surprised at what you said about the Colorance not lasting as it is supposed to be a 'demi-permanent' and is supposed to last longer than the Redkin Shades EQ. Can you please do my hair?
Are you in Florida?
My favorite toner is Lakme Pearl

Thank you ! Question You said you would add in 9na is that on top of 9v+9p?
What do you have to mix goldwell toners with? Developer? Colorance lotion? What’s the difference?
Developer volume 3
What goldwell is the best for a pure white blonde maybe icy
What about 10 vv with 9p?
Omg beautiful!
Oscar thanks so much!
Hello my name is Elizabeth l, I love your Info, on the GI with 9V/9P what developer Do you use?
Great video! Very informative 💜

Thank you your great! I’m trying not to go to the salon . Kuz the Corona 19 . How can I get pearly bright highlights with a toner. Thank you so much !
Yes that’d be a great vid toning brown since I seem to be every level on the chart. Ok maybe all 12 too! 😂
MUA Baybe sounds great! thanks for the feedback! :)
And do you tone on wet or dry hair
When you say you add a little 8NW Into your formula what is a little mean by proportion ?
I was wondering what shades eq I should use to brighten a client. I did her her hair wanting a platinum but it came out too dark with too much ash. What should I put on that to brighten?
love your video ❤️
Cute factor 100 :) where did you get those glasses?
Deanne P Thank you so much! :) I got then at my local Lens Crafters- they are Bulgari!
Hi! I switch over to shades and while it looks amazing walking out the door it fades after two to three washes. Can you help me with why?
Put a protein filler on the hair before coloring.
Then retone if required.
are you close to NY... I would go to you in a heart beat!!!
How long do you leave the toners on
Oh my gosh you are so freaking cute!
yourgirl bee thank you so much! you are seriously the sweetest!
whats your favorite toner from shades eq for neutral lowlights?
Are you local?
Loved this
Good video and helpful
Do toners only effect the level they are directed to help? For example can I have a toner and mix like a 6 for my root and a 9 for my ends and just apply it to my whole head or should I apply the 6 to my root rinse and then do the 9? I just never understood if I could mix all the toners together.
I would do your roots first and then rinse out with cold water and conditioner. Then tone your hair 2nd.
Thank you so much! You are amazing! I enjoyed learning from you💖
Do you do any virtual consults cash app or Venmo I just need a suggestion for my roots in bang area they are driving me crazy please help thank you
Do you use 6% to develop your goldwell colorance Demi? I work with Aveda but I’m really interested in the goldwell line.
Brittany Lay I use the Goldwell Colorance Lotion for my developer- I think its a 5 volume since it just deposits and doesn’t lift, not sure off the top of my head. Two parts developer one part demi. Wow I need you to throw some of your magic In this dull hair!
is it best to put the shades eq on wet hair or dry?

@jasmine estes I now use Lakme toners. Silver and Pearl is all they offer and I like both, alternate them
Where do you offer services? I would come to you for sure.
pretty

Does adding clear seq make the toner last longer?

What is the point of subscribing you only have 3 videos?¿
I wish I would see more golden or champagne blondes. These ice blondes don't appeal to me at all.
