How is it that any time I search an obscure question about building my stang, it's always you with a video saying exactly how to do it? You're amazing.
@@AlfsMustangGarage Do you recall which P/N fuel line was used on that build? I'm struggling to find one that's close enough that I can modify it for use with a Summit carb which has the inlet right in front of the choke. That one looks like it would definitely work with just 2 re-bends.
I don't remember. But my computer remembers for me. I can pull up his invoice and find out for you tomorrow. But go on my website and send me an email through the contact me section and that will remind me so I don't forget.
@@AlfsMustangGarage As I sat here for hours trying to make stuff work, I gave up. I'm going to go ahead and make the switch to braided and AN fittings.
Only difference mine has is the upper bolt for the Alt bracket doesn't have a spacer behind it, my AC bracket has a dogleg that sits behind there instead. Otherwise, saved me so much time compared to the really terrible shop manual/assembly diagram reproductions. Thanks sir!
Great job on the step by step. I remember a time when I thought these systems where simpler then a serpentine system. I will admit I was afraid of change.
Dude! Ya when all you have is an alternator and water pump, super simple. But then you start adding other options and it's just so much more complicated. Imagine a setup like this with a California emissions smog pump!
Great video!! Do you know why two of the three bolts that hold the AC bracket are studs and not just bolts? Does it have anything to do with the installation procedure?
Thanks Andy! So yes the studs are there because you have to install the power steering bracket first and then the lower ac bracket also installs over those studs. Makes it way easier to keep all that together with studs.
Amazing, I’m literally in the middle of an AC under hood upgrade and PS pump rebuild. Question: There is a third hole in the front of the PS pump. Is it not used? Mine didn’t have a bolt but assumed it was missing.
Great video again. Much appreciated I have a 65 mustang 289 Non Ac. I have an Eaton pump with the reservoir on top of the pump. Will this bracket configuration fit my car? If so do you have information regarding where I can obtain on. Thanks Paul
I love all your videos! quick question. working on a 66 Thunderbird landau with 428 engine. does it have single contact points or dual contact points ? and also how many degrees does the dwell have to be adjusted to? thank you!
Really enjoy your videos as I am rebuilding my 289. While watching this video , I have a question about a item located on the head just above the spark plug behind the upper arm of the alt mounting bracket. There is a round 1"x1" protrusion of the block with a hex head bolt in it. Any idea what this is for?
I have another question, the brake lights on the 66 tbird don't work when the key is not in ignition switch and the pedal is depressed no clicking either, but as soon as the key is in the accessory position and run position they work like normal. is it normal for them not to work without the key in the acc or run position or do i have a problem?
Just went through this on my ‘66 yesterday! I upgraded to PS to mine (already had AC). I used a kit from CJ Pony with a 67 pump but the belt was too short. Do you happen to know the belt part numbers you used? I’m thinking maybe 15470?
Hey sir, have another question for you. I have my 1966 mustang in-line 6 that has power steering. As of recently when I turn the steering wheel either left or right I get a screeching noise. My fluid level is good and the belt doesn’t seem loose. Do you have any ideas what would cause this issue?

Ha ha! We must be lucky I suppose. Glad to hear we can help.

i swear every time i work on something with my mustang, the next day you put out a video of exactly what im working on
Ha ha that's awesome except I'm a tad late.
You're a lifesaver. I've been going crazy with this. The problem was worse because of a 4 bolt crank pulley that didn't work.
Oh gosh ya these things can be quite challenging. Glad we could help out!

Oh cool, glad I could help. Those old diagrams are quite difficult to interpret
@@AlfsMustangGarage Yeah they are, especially when you get into factory versus dealer installed stuff and/or early vs late 65s.
Your videos are very helpful. I enjoy watching and learning.
Thank you very much!
Love your videos. Clear and to the point. You've helped me a lot with my 68 289. Thank you and keep them coming!
You're very welcome and thank you for your support 👍
Best video I have seen on this. Thanks so much!
You're very welcome
Great work helped me lots with my 66 fairlane 500

Of course!
Amazing video. Very helpful

Can you tell me the length of each belt?
Thanks for your help

thank you I appreciate it!
No problem!
Great video. Which groove on the crank pulley does the AC compressor go on?

Good timing then! So ya that third hole is not used. What it's for is a car that doesn't have ac and uses a different ps bracket.
Great information. TY. 👍
You're very welcome!
Ooooh very nice!
Nice car hu?
Yes very nice. I want to see more of it.
There will be more to come
Awesome!!
Where do you get the spacers for the idler pulley/ water pump?
I do most my shopping at National Parts Depot

Well I am thinking it won’t work

Thank you. I wouldn't know those specifications and would have to look in my old shop manual. I can look on Monday 👍

Oh cool thanks. Are you asking about something you're looking at on the engine in this video or your engine?
@@AlfsMustangGarage It is on my engine and I am unable to find anything on its purpose.
I stand corrected about the location of the protrusion. It is located on the head.

I would assume it's normal to operate only when the key is on or in run position. But I would need to see the wiring diagram for it.
Do you have a part number for that idler pulley? Or where I can buy the complete set with spacers and bolts. Thank you
Do you need a 3 groove crankshaft pulley for this set-up?
Yes
Oh cool, well then I suppose you don't need a 3 groove pulley.

I'm sorry I can't remember the belt size. This client provided his own. Sometimes you just have to buy a few and return the ones that don't fit.
What Model is the Sanden a/c compressor in this installation? I need to purchase one but not sure which one to buy.
What is the correct tension for the belts?
