- Big news from the folks at Dovetail Games, creators of smash hits like 'Flight Sim World' (lol) and the seventeen-hundredth iteration of 'Train Simulator' and 'Train Sim World': on Feb 21st several North American routes within the game will be updated as well as 3 new North American add-ons will release including the Amtrak Acela, NEC NY Penn to Trenton (along w/ the NJT ALP46 & Bi-Levels) and a Union Pacific SD70ace heritable pack.

Thank you for putting the fart sounds with reverb. It really changed my life.
No one asked for a heritage unit pack. You can easily create those yourself. What we need is more locomotives. Sd45s, sd70M, CN wide cabs, Cowl units, high hoods, GP 15-1s, Dash 8, U boats, tunnel motors. We really have the bare bones of the bare bones. I hope that sim rail will be better. I don't think we will see a single new locomotive type in the next 5 years. Next they will probably do NS heritage units or make a UP F7 or something stupid like that.

There is no LIRR layer - these would be only available at NY Penn Station.
There aren't stationary CSX locos in the yards, as we determined they would hamper performance for something which, ultimately, isn't playable.

Hey SP, another great video with appropriately timed "wet farts" inserted to emphasize the BS that comes from Dovetail. I will most likely only by these on sale. I refuse to spend 80 bucks for this. $50, yes, but not 80. I too have everything except the 3 new items you mentioned. Keep up the great work buddy
Dtg making the heritage units a paid dlc when everyone is just gonna get them off the creators club for free is absolutely wild
Can't wait to see them remove those liveries just like they did at first with branded liveries, it's gonna be a mess

@@KentuckyAk101guy it was when they released the livery editor for the first time, this was a post they made on the forums:
"Several operators have granted permission to create and distribute mods that use the logos or brands that they own in the Creators Club Beta. However, these must not be altered in any way. The list below will be updated as new approvals are obtained. You can use them in your game livery mod. We hope to expand on the logos in the Livery Designer in the future to help with your creations."
At the time, I remember seeing liveries get deleted from the sharing platform because of that. I don't think it's an issue nowadays though.
@@QJ1120 oh ok thanks. I’ve been making livery’s for a while and have had some of mine taken down. I made CP 7021 and tried to post it because I saw other CP loco’s and rolling stock but it was taken down not long after I posted it. I’ve found some work arounds thankfully

The stuttering is due to running straight from editor. Sounds for the acela are using real recordings when dtg did a ny trip a few years back. Alp46 was supplied by community as well. Sounds shouldn't be too terrible but who knows
For sherman Hill and Boston sprinter, the upgrades are the new lighting and skies that came in tsw3. Boston sprinter is also getting a signalling overhaul. These are free.
I have stuttering and im not playing straight from the editor. With that, my PC specs are not the issue either.
they actually got lazy and used fan railers train simulator audio for both the acela and alp46. very disappointed. i was expecting brand new audio considering they literally have real samples, but apparently, they’d rather use iphone recorded audio and decade old railworks motor audio.. i’m going to be making a mod with someone to completely overhaul this thing.

Giving what has been announced during the stream tonight, the route is gonna be a big let down, lots of things cut or missing. Definitely feel like DTG is trying to get that $$$.
If we could get a midwest-south route, that would be Golden.
I'd love to see KCS in TSW. I'd also be on board with FEC and MRL. We've gotten plenty of BNSF and UP over the years.

that horn on the njt alp46 is going to be changed. unfortunately, everything else with the audio seems finalized.. they had samples for the acela from their wilmington trip, but they used fan railers iphone recorded audio and decade old railworks motor audio. i’m going to be making a mod with someone to completely overhaul the sounds and texturing because it’s not the best.
I'm mostly wondering whether those UP AC4400CWs will be included in the Sherman Hill update. Terribly boring with just SD70ACEs.

@Minnesota Railfan11 Yes indeed, I think I'm gonna invest in a computer because it seems Run 8 is taking care of its people and gives more options and playability. I'm really tired of Dovetail where I don't play much anymore. There is no reason as someone who is a freight lover why more engines and cars have not been added, SD70M, AC45s, ES44ACs, even GP38-2 being added to Sherman Hill or GP40, you get what I'm saying. Different horns or a horn and bell selection screen, better headlight flares
If you have cane creek, you get an ac44 they subs in. Who knows what will happen. Just wait until the release notes come out

I don't get why they're making that UP heritage unit pack. It just seems like yet another lazy cash grab, in my opinion, especially to those who don't care for the US heavy freight routes.
As for New York to Trenton, I'm looking forward to it because it's a decent length and includes NJT rolling stock (even though we've already had it all in TSC). I'm just really ticked off over the glaring absence of the Arrow 3 and Princeton Branch.
These add-ons are far too expensive now, and I still haven't seen a clear explanation from the devs on why they've raised the prices. They're close to loosing a customer in me.

Sherman Hills route needed a major update. Looked and played like something made in the 90's.
The bombardier cars don’t look too unrealistic imo, although I’ve only ever seen the MARC supply of the cars, but even on the real life cars that wispy blue design is on the walls so they got that right
That’s cool they’re bringing back the metroliner cab
DTG has serious problems with lighting, it doesn't even look like the game is made in the powerful Unreal Egine.
They should take a course with SCS on how lighting is done

I figured out my performance issue with TSW3 and TSW2, I looked at task manager and the game was only running off 3 cores of my CPU. Anyone know how to keep the game running on all cores so I don't have to maunually do it myself? Also those heritage units look hella hot.

I'd expected we might eventually get back the Amtrak Cab Car ever since the ACS-64 returned with Boston-Providence. But I didn't expect a whole new NEC NY line. It would be nice if they also add it to Boston, but seems like no word on that.
Also, that NJT train set looks pretty good to me. So I'll pick that up, but only once it goes on sale. DTG's new dick-stomping US pricing model ensures I'll never again make a Day 1 purchase. Thanks for nothing there, Dovetail. 💰👎
The cab car only runs in new York and does the keystone services. It doesn't run in Boston.

I don’t understand why they can’t come up with something when it comes to the us. There are plenty new locations that will interest the younger generations. I.E the Chicago line on Norfolk southern. /
If tsw only created new routes that aren't in tsc, then that means we would never be able to play them at all.
@@potatoman451 make no sense what you said we been on these same ass routes for 2 decades now and that’s how you kill a title trust me at least in TCS/ railworks if you get bored With the routes you got you can always do some research and build your own like the community is heavily invested in it has even got to the point where you can merge routes with a little knowledge

Are there bringing out Mta M9 trains add ons and MTA mass transit what about the NJ transit and what about Toronto Canada TTC transit
Not buying until on sale for at least 50% discount.
The Acela sounds are actually pretty realistic compared to the real thing. Compared to the original Acela sounds in tsc WITHOUT mods it sounds 100 times better no doubt. The only exception is that the sound of the engine inside the cab is a little too quiet, and when the engine starts moving it doesn’t instantly go to that high engine noise. The thing that I think they missed is that in real life it takes a second for the fan to kick up, where as in the game it starts almost instantly. Overall I think it’s pretty realistic sounding, and looking, but that’s just my opinion.
$15 for the heritage pack is nothing but a cash grab. I wouldn't be surprised if any of these routes had issues as is the norm with tsw3
I always wait for a big sale and buy the routes I want for about £5. Never buy one for a full price

What about those who have the BP route purchased? Will i get the update for free or have to purchase it again?
It's free on bp and sherman hill. It's advertised that way for brand new players who don't have the route so they know they are getting an updated version of it if they buy tsw3. But free for users who own the route

Well, I can already tell you the Acela Train skin is wrong as I have ridden on them multiple times and the skin paint is like a Mirror but rough not able to see a perfect reflection but still reflects anything near it or around it. Work in progress looks bad super basic nothing says wow about it given this is TSW3 and still looking like TS just cleaner lines. Interior does have any shape corners on anything as what's shown walking through the cars, there rounded for safety reasons DTG not doing a great job on their research sure shows. 9:51 that's DTG for you not fixing anything just pushing out New content reminds you of TS haha. Too bad the UP-Heritage units aren't 100% legit to the real-life units as their interior cabs are all different to those of the Standard 70ACe units, but you know if it was a British unit, they would 100% all the way inside out. Skip the DLC skin pack waste of money. I'm sorry to say but Trenton NJ doesn't look anything like that! I asked day one about prices ever increasing and they said No well here's the Proof there Liars. Training Center isn't a route DTG trying to pass that off as a Route shows how much of a Joke they are.
I recently reinstalled TSW3 to checkout there Newer updates since September when I removed it and to find out the BNSF SD40-2 still runs 180mph by them self's which DTG never fixed. I hope theses' DLC's aren't the only DLC's I've been herein about that DTG is focusing on American routes this year, if that is then that's Sad. What HAPPENED to American STEAM Locomotives as I guess were Not getting any now feeling like DTG put them on the back burner and focusing on Electric Passenger trains instead. But I see DTG is making another UK Steam locomotive DLC, WHAT! like why you would do that. I honestly believe at this point DTG can't make American Steam Locomotives as we originally were supposed to have them in TSW2 if you remember and then released TSW3 and said now we can make them, well here's TSW3 where are the American Steam Locomotives THEN!
Guess got to wait for TSW4 to get them, Not a Joke!

Building a route is complex. It's not just 30 additional miles of track, it's every single station and scenery element and the whole gameplay

It's not just 30 additional miles. It's 30 miles of every single station and scenery elements. Routes are complicated to make and you can't have everything like tsc did. That's real life and how it's going to be

What do you mean it costs more. Currency value equivalents are different in different parts of the world, so don't know what you are talking about.
I think because the game is 🇬🇧 based hence why they concentrate sometimes more on the routes over lately and the reason we mediocre routes for USA because they have to travel and do tons of research which is why they need to implement a development team from the community of people from USA model railroading groups alone with railfan support hobby groups it’s tons per every state but on another note the real downfall I think is the whole whole third party content if they only made it with that in thought where you can create models and routes
I'm amazed they decided to do NJT, but I'm also happy, despite that horn STILL not being right.
