After sequels from Inside Out, Frozen, Kung Fu Panda, Despicable Me, Megamind and now this, we are truly in the age of recurrent animated sequels. They're everywhere! To be fair, Brad Bird (the person who made “The Incredibles”) is currently working on a film with Skydance Animation (a.k.a. Ilion Animation Studios) called “Ray Gunn”.

@@legiran9564That is partially true, but with how huge superheroes have been in the past near 2 decades, especially for Disney, you'd think they'd be cranking out Incredibles merch since the first movie.
They REALLY need to know that they don't need to make sequels to every single one of their projects. Sometimes, a film can simply stand alone, without the need for countless sequels.

They tried that, they were going to stop doing sequels to their movies after Toy Story 4, but Disney and Pixar's latest movies havent been doing very well in terms of money ( maybe cuz marketing has been severely lacking ) so i guess they will resort to doing sequels because that guarantees more money.
A fourth Cars movie has not been confirmed. All that has been said by anyone associated with Pixar is "There are more Cars things brewing, I can't say much more yet. Cars has got a life that will keep going. I am working on some real fun projects right now that you will see in a couple of years. It takes us a while to make them."
It has not been confirmed what these projects are; there's every possibility that they could also be another collection of shorts akin to 'Mater's Tall Tales' or 'Cars on the Road'. Anything saying what these projects are, the most common "story" being that it is a fourth movie, is nothing more than misinformation and bullshit generated to hype up unsuspecting people who haven't done their own research.

I think a fourth movie would only work if they retconned Cars on the Road, as I feel the only real avenue they could explore at this point is Lightning coaching Cruz.
Nah, McQueen said at the end of cars 3 he was gonna keep racing. So it will probably be about his last season as a driver.
Either that or McQueen enters a special event where older racers are competing. Hell, they could just rehash cars 2 with a second WGP only they’ll hopefully do it right this time.

Cars on the road didn't retcon anything. He never retired, and he never became her crew chief, that was only for one race. The race at the end of the movie where mcqueen had the doc hudson paint job was the "one thing" mcqueen wanted to do before he returned to racing.
The only reason he was going to quit was because of sterling forcing him to retire, but since Tex bought the company that's no longer a threat. He can keep racing and the only drawback is that he won't be winning as often as he used to be, but thats the whole thing he had to learn and accept throughout the third movie.

I agree, BUT, and this is a big but, if they do it properly I would be okay with Cars 4. Give the story a reason to keep going with Cruz, show character development, etc.
If they make a cars 4, it'll probably exist to "complete" the trilogy since the events of cars 2 aren't acknowledged in the 3rd movie if that makes sense.
Cars 3 wasnt the perfect ending at all, majority wanted to see mcqueen beat storm and thats what we want to see in cars 4.

Cars 4 should be about a new rookie face for rusteze, and the rookie will be a very big fan of mcqueen and would take his revenge by smoking storm, with the same number 95.
Actually, I personally think the Director's Cut version of Cars 3 could be great. Just by adding the ending of the movie where McQueen comes in 1st place in the race under Dinoco sponsorship and Cruz comes 2nd in the race under Rusteze sponsorship, I think he can win the hearts of the fans again and later on, which takes place between Cars 2 and 3, McQueen's first experience with his generation. A movie could be made about it.

Finally, I have been waiting For Cars 4 Since 2017!!!!
Cars is one of the only franchises that I feel actually deserves / needs another sequel. The transition from Lightning to Cruise has taken place, and there's a lot of plot potential still there as Lightning mentors Cruise as Doc did for him against new challenges. I just hope the story they have is compelling enough to be told based on its own meritts, and not end up as another Cars 2.
Pixar is still the one of the studios that usually has new original ideas, which is why I've been rooting for them most out of other studios. Sequels aren't AS bad as remakes and they do get new stories to tell, but it really feels like the big three studios (Disney Pixar Dreamworks) are burning out on creativity.

-Need Cars 4 to be a prequel to see how Montgomery became “lightning” mcqueen. Maybe the villain could be one of his idols (not the king or doc Hudson) a new entire villain who has the same attitude as Jackson Storm or pre radiator springs lightning.
-He also has a bitchy pit crew hence why he never used to trust them
-Maybe at the end of the movie the rusteez guys give him his “big break” that he mentioned
-At first lightning is a pushover and after the “never meet you heroes” lesson, he becomes a cool guy by the end of the movie making it understandable why he was a douche in Cars 1, he had to be cold.
I hope Cars 4 will be set either before Cars 1, exploring how McQueen became a racer, or between Cars 1 and 3, showing more of his glory days.
Before being humbled in Radiator Springs, McQueen had a shitty personality. The early parts of the 1st movie encapsulate that phase of McQueen well enough that I don't think anyone would want to see an entire movie about that phase nor would it be necessary.
Again, Cars 2 does highlight McQueen's glory days (even if he isn't the main focus of the movie).
The story has run its course and adding anything more would just be Disney banking on nostalgia and trying to sell more merch.
I would love to see a Cars 4: Lightning Back To The Past, and it shows how everything can be avoided, like how McQueen could see himself if he would've continued at the LA race instead of helping King, etc.
I hope it focuses on mater and McQueen. It would be nice to see McQueen get his title back. I just don’t want cars 4 about anyone else. Especially Cruz

Yeah I saw this coming from a mile away, because McQueen didn't end up retiring in Cars 3. Since Tex bought Rusteze, it just means that he and Cruz are both racers now. McQueen just accepted the fact that he will no longer be winning the way he used to.
The race at the end of the movie in radiator springs where he had the doc paintjob was the last thing he wanted to do right before he returned to racing, it wasn't symbolism that he would retire and become her crew chief. Everyone seems to get that wrong.

I had an interesting idea, what if McQueen is going to be an announcer in another Grand Prix, but now McQueen is added into the spy world, and one of the RACERS are the bad guy, like maybe Shu Todoroki. We hadn't seen much of him in Cars 2, so maybe it would be a good idea.

I'll believe it when I start seeing trailers. Don't forget, Disney is likely to take a critical hit when they release Snow White (and I'm not expecting much from Elio), so who knows where things will be in a couple years.
Although, considering how much merch sales they'll likely rake in from another Cars movie, it makes sense they'd keep churning them out. International ticket sales will probably be strong too.

i rly liked the idea of the cars 3 tbh. im sure everyone understood the plot of it. but i guess the audience wanted a more realistic approach on cars in general (which isnt even the case from the first car movies anyways, like a nascar jumping and surviving that land) i guess it is what it is.
I want them to do a world gran prix again to show how Lightnings racing has evolved. They kept cutting away from the races in Cars 2. They could also give the other Radiator Springs characters more screen time. If Cars3 looked beautiful in 2017, I wonder how Cars 4 will look😮.
Revisiting the World Grand Prix could be a really cool set up for Cars 4! This time there could even be much more focus on the actual races that would be featured, including the scrapped ones from the deleted scenes of Cars 2!
I mean, in 2024 when a company tries to make a new movie/animated movie they fail miserably, also so many people like sequels and prequals so that totally make sense to make cars 4. Disney lost it's creativity so yes :)

Also, Cars has earned $21.5 billion in merchandising sales revenue as of 2023. It reached the $10 billion mark back in 2011. A lot of misinformation in this video. RUclips's gotta do better to crack down on this clout-chasing crud.

While a fourth movie has not been confirmed yet, and I am kind of interested in what these "projects" will end up being. Truth be told, I've always had a soft spot for Cars. I really like the first movie, I enjoyed the third one and I even remember really liking the "Mater's Tall Tales" shorts as a kid.

Something that i was wishing for was a spin-off movie about Finn Mcmissile, i genuinely think Cars 2 would've been a good movie if it wasn't related to Mcqueen and Mater story, also Cars 2 was dark in a few scenes touching topics such as the black market, terrorism and literally killing cars in our faces, it had a lot of potential but were wasted because of being a sequel of Cars 1.
So a spin-off (Prequel or Sequel of Cars 2 events) about Finn Mcmissile can be really interesting and touch more of those topics without ceasing to be a children's film

@@eeveeofalltrades4780yeah really, even if it was a secret there's huge major events for both McQueen and Mater that are just ignored. Like, Mater got knighted or whatever by the queen of England, that's pretty major. Not very secretive. And in Cars 2, Mater says he never fixes his dents because they mean something to him and yet in Cars 3, a very noticeable dent he got in the second is gone. So either he got it fixed and all of Radiator Springs forgot about him literally being knighted, or Cars 2 is retconned because it was bad and sucked. I think it's the later.

Incredibles 3! Weird how they haven’t announced it yet. I mean, the sequel made over a billion dollars alone!

Probably because the creator of “The Incredibles”, Brad Bird, is currently making a movie called “Ray Gunn”, with Skydance Animation (a.k.a. Ilion Animation Studios).
Because Disney isn't doing one without Brad Bird, it all depends on what script he can produce for a third movie. It took over a decade for him to finally figure out what he wanted Incredibles 2 to be. I still prefer the first one, but I had a grea time with the second one

I personally LOVE the world of cars, I think a 4th movie done right could be phenomenal. I think the tone needs to be very melancholic, maybe a continuation of the “getting older” theme from the third film, but with actual dark moments, no punches pulled.
Okay, I get why they made Toy Story 4 and don't get why 5 is coming, but Cars 4 doesn't make sense to happen at all, there's no story left to tell.
Well, considering it ended with him and Cruz both becoming racers under Tex, they definitely can find ways to do it. McQueen didn't retire at the end of the movie, and he directly says he's going to continue racing. So if they wanted to keep it going, they absolutely could.
If they make a Cars 4 video game, let's hope it's something completely new and not another Cars 2 reskin

I feel like they should make different types of movie series out of cars. Cars Mator Adventures? Cars Piston Cup. Cars World GP. And make it so we can get many new stories. New characters. And have them separate from eachother. Or even make them into series

I have no words for how false this video is myself. There's nothing about Cars 4 anywhere.
I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if they announced one, but he could've at least waited for an official announcement of a Cars 4 instead of lying to his audience that they've announced one.
What I would argue about cars is that it's not much about the story telling but maybe more about showing motorsport to young people. For me it opened door to motorsport. It shows what racer can or does go thru in racing. It shows basic principals of racing and GREATLY shows the eager and passion that comes with it. Yes you can say every film should have great story telling, but for me it really doesn't need that if you show the sport whilst putting a main character that leads you thru it. Maybe it wasn't their intention, but I experienced it (as a kid and now an adult) more like McQueen is this young star that has some troubles along his way to become the greatest racer, and you as a spectator look deep into the sport while having someone you can hold on to so you aren't lost as a young person. I could be wrong. This is just my point of view.
