Hello sir, How should we scan a physical disk on a physical Linux server? Before Patching mounts were present but after reboot it vanished and when I checked lsblk output no disks were present for those mounts ? What might be the issue? Could you please guide me on this. Should I use echo scanning cmd for scanning will it work for a physical server?
Ensure all physical connections (SATA/SAS cables, power cables) are securely connected. A loose or disconnected cable could cause the disks to disappear. Verify physical connections. Check system logs for disk-related errors. Rescan the SCSI bus using echo "- - -" > /sys/class/scsi_host/hostX/scan. Use partprobe to update the OS about the partition changes. Verify disks with lsblk and fdisk -l. Ensure /etc/fstab is correct and manually mount if necessary. Use lsscsi and cat /proc/partitions for further diagnostics. Reboot if required. This approach should help you identify and resolve the issue of missing disks on your Linux server. If the issue persists, consider checking for hardware failures or contacting your hardware vendor for further assistance.
