    Hello, Jessa! We are glad that you mentioned the laser machine in your video and offered a solution for laser damage. Currently, we have added instructions on standard operation to reduce potential risk. We look forward to furthering repair techniques discussion with iPad Rehab.

      So the board most be removed so I can then use the laser

    No need to remove the motherboard, just adjust the template using an empty housing and save the template once it’s 100%. All this damage is from people who don’t know how to use the laser software correctly.

    • @alarmsquadnj
      @alarmsquadnj Год назад

      Good to know I’m guessing the TDK is the same to adjust

    Honestly I've done hundreds upon hundreds of back glass laser removals and I haven't had a single customer come back to me reporting weird issues. I'm always careful not to mess with default settings and to keep exposed holes in the motherboard covered up and haven't had a problem since.

    "Hi, and what do you do for a living?"
    "I make 0 Ohm Resisters"
    "You mean wires"
    "No they have microcomponent packaging"
    "So you sell resistors that don't resist... who buys them, technicians with a sense of humour?"
    "No... Smartphone and Laptop manufacturers, they buy quite allot"
    "OH!!! So you stick it to 'The Man' for a living."
    "Pretty much. What do you do."
    "The wrong thing, apparently."

    • @theEskalaator

      It is also called a "fuse"

    • @WolvenSpectre
      @WolvenSpectre 3 года назад

      @@theEskalaator actually fuses have to have a resistance or they will require too much current to fail and will likely let harm come to the other components first. You could just use a micro fuse instead and it would show its failed too.

    • @theEskalaator
      @theEskalaator 3 года назад

      @@WolvenSpectre those 0 ohm resistors do have some resistance. Just look at backlight circuit - always broken resistor (or "filter") but IC is hardly ever damaged

    The two signals are I2C signals to/from the Wide Rear Camera. One signal, I2C0...SCL..., is the clock signal from the bus master. The other signal, I2C0...SDA..., is the bi-directional data signal on the bus. Camera pixel data may be transferred on other signal traces.

    I have the same laser machine. I use it every day!!! got the same problem a couple of times. I started to use masking tape to cover up those holes where the laser can go through. problem fixed.

    I’ve had an instance in which an xs max started running very slow after replacing the back glass, however with micro soldering that was fixed. After that I had another xs max, and this time I decided to remove the board and do the repair, but ended up with the same issue, super slow phone after the repair, crashing etc. I’m guessing mine had been lasering some components on the charging port, and when connected to the board it fried the board. At this point it’s all just risk with lasers

    As long as you setup the template properly the laser is not a problem. The best way is to remove the board the first time you see a specific model, once you have adjusted the template you can leave the board in.

  • @VideoServicesLI

    Great video, love the 'new' format. Lasers are very expensive and you need to know what you're doing if just doing glass removal. Not sure it's worth it $$ even if you know what you're doing. Replace the entire screen seems more economical and takes less time.

    I have got "baked" iPhone 7 from my friends daughter, for "uncle fix this" challenge.
    A little of rust ate some of the elements around power converter chip that drives both front and rear cameras and the flash hybrid.
    Is there any chance that you would show the voltage drop values of the camera connectors in that model, same way as we can see it here?

    • @piwex69

      @Robert F thanks. Got it. Despite having such data item in the menu, the voltage drop values are no where to be seen.
