- Are you Pooh sized? Got a little extra around the middle? Well, you aren't the only one. I decided to a "plus size in the park" at Dollywood and show you all the test seats for EVERY roller coaster in the park and where they are and how they operate.
We all know that body types differ and hopefully this video will help you figure out what you can and maybe can't ride at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN.
We show you the actual test seat and location for them at the these coasters:
Lightning Rod
Wild Eagle
Fire Chaser Express
DragonFlyer
Mystery Mine
Thunderhead
We also throw in a few tips and tricks to help out with your adventure through Dollywood.
Remember, its the mountains and it gets hot!
You ready? Let's go!

Thank you for doing this video. I went to Dollywood two years ago and my family unable to ride half the rides. That gave me a jumpstart to have my family have a better lifestyle and lose weight. I went from 270 pounds to 200. Now I’m taking my family again in June and we will all be able to ride all the rides together. Thank you so much again.
That’s awesome! Congrats on the weight loss. I know how hard it is. I hope you enjoy your trip!
Thank you for doing this!
Great information
This was a very informative video. The only discouraging part is that the seats are out in the open. As we know people come in all shapes and sizes but the rides are usually made for the average person. A plus size person may not feel comfortable sitting in a seat that’s out in the open public. It’s difficult enough being a large person let alone sitting in a chair so everyone can stare at you. I know because I was that person once. However if you can get past that part know before you go is a great concept. Behind a wall away from the public eye might be a better idea.
It’s definitely an odd thing trying all the seats in front of people. I’ve been on both sides of it as well. I can appreciate the parks putting in a test chair because it does save time and embarrassing issues but it also leaves you out there testing the seats in front of god and everybody lol
I agree with you. My older brother is of larger size and has had trouble in some rides. However, we have learned that he best fits rides with over the shoulder restraints and not lap restraints. I do wish they didn’t have the seats out in front of people, especially since people are super rude these days.
I needed this video.
I appreciate this so much. I just got out of the danger zone myself and videos like this relief so much anxiety before I traveled.
I worked my way into, out and back into the zone lol. Im glad this was a help!
Tn Tornado has Test seats. When u go towards the food trucks, on the right side in the covered area
Great video.
Thanks and I appreciate you watching!
thanks for the info
Thanks for watching!
Good stuff
Thanks
I finally fit on Steel Vegeanace lap bar at Cedar Point,RMC same restraints as Lighting Rod. Also Gatekeeper at Cedar Point, same as Wild Eagle, I used to used red strap, but not anymore, I used the regular strap. I'm 6 foot 2 and 290 lbs.
you should be fine!
Hey just a follow up! Were you able to ride all of them ?
@@that_vs_them I was able to fit on everything at Dollywood at the weight in the video.
@@JonnyAmusement Yes I did, on Steel Vegeanace at Cedar Point in Sandusky Ohio, my home park, I just scoot all the way back into the seat as I pulled the lap bar down, then lift my knees upward while I was on my tippy toes, and got the sensor green light on.
Maybe Mystery Mine will be a broaded shoulders
Can you do a video on what bags are allowed on the different rides? I like bringing either a backpack, fanny pack or crossbody to the park. I know about the lockers but I would also like to know if small bags are allowed on the rides. Thank you. Your videos are really informative about Dollywood.
There are cubbies you place your things in at each of the rides(except the water rides) most of them don’t allow you to keep your bag on you)
I always bring a backpack. Always. I never take it on any of the rides. Almost all of the rides have cubbies at the station to let you put things in.
Most of the coasters tell you not to bring anything on them. My wife saw someone lose a phone yesterday on the lightning rod.
Dollywood does a good job of taking care of your stuff and I’ve never had an issue.
@@JonnyAmusement Thank you and keep up the great videos!
@@jadebussell5431 Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to my questions.
I did Wild Eagle in row 4 and it was still so tight, especially across the chest, that I couldn’t get a full breathe. I won’t be on it again!
It’s snug on me as well. I feel like another 10lbs or so and I may try the black strap…. Maybe.
Great video! I’m going to Dollywood soon and I am very underweight/skinny. Do you think there is a chance I can’t ride if I am too skinny?
I’m trying to decide if this is a real comment. Sometimes it’s hard to pick up if people are condescending or not. On the off chance this isn’t, you will have no problem riding any coaster unless you are to short. Enjoy your trip.
@@JonnyAmusement I was being serious lol. Thanks for responding.
