Would there be a way where instead of following the player somebody could make him follow a part? Like with waypoints?
Depending, you can put a sound inside a part, turn the volume low and set the see distance to 0 and it will continuously walk to that sound or if you can script it would be simple to remove the targeting code inside the script so it only walks to the part you want it to but I will do another ai in the future that would maybe help you

I WOULD do that but I’ve never liked using other people’s scripts. Not because they could be malicious, I’ve just never felt good about doing it.

Awesome AI overall. Though, I do disagree with the cutting off feature. Zombies aren't your playground bullies blocking your way. They're hungry! They want to feast! Basic type zombies are only meant to be a danger by their numbers, other types are what keeps a zombie game from being a track running simulator.
Yea I‘ll make it optional but I updated it to walk more directly to the player when cutting off so it also attacks while doing it and not just kinda walking in front of the player you think that is better ? Cus still if it cuts off the player the ai while playing feels way harder to play against which I thought was cool
@@UltraEngineStudios That's a good compromise, it's just trying to find that balance between braindead and just being too smart for a rotting corpse. I can't fully understand how difficult it must be for you to code this, so for that, thanks for sharing your creations!

i think it should cut players off because once all the specials are dead, that’s all it is. a track running simulator. if they just walk towards you at a slightly slower pace without any way of taking shortcuts or cutting the player off, they’re effectively not even there until the player messes up

Make them walk around in search for a target when they haven't found one. This would also make it so that when they go to where they last saw the player, they would look around the area, rather than just standing at the position of the player.
I started leaning lua 5 months ago, and i can tell how much work was put into that zombie, not just the zombie but plugin included! Pathfinding is hard enough but for you to add more features shows how good u are at coding.
Its been a long time since I have seen good zombie ai like this one, looks cool too
Now adapt civilian AI to interact with zombie AI.

I would add a random wander which happens once he goes to the spot where he last saw you the zombie looks around for a bit depending on what time is put in and then continues his walk. Also idk if there is already this but I suggest making a point where even if you're not behind a wall they can't see you.

Love this, would love to see different zombie types too with varying behavior, possibly different classes defined to use for different zombie types. Great AI overall

I suggest that with the transparent seeing through part, make the zombies bash, break or slam their bodies into whatever thing they can see you through. Why? Because its a bit.. odd if a zombie knows exactly what way to walk through to get to you, y'know?
Have you tried something similar to raycasting in its field of view then having it move towards the average position? adding some sin or cos to the direction to make the zombie move more naturally? Cuz i feel like that would be really cool as an option, if people dont want their zombies to just be standing still when not chasing.

i think that to draw distance from zombies, making the zombie do things like jumping across gaps instead makes them leap to the platform, and an animation where it scrambles to climb up onto the surface plays, before continuing to chase

The zombie corpses should be weightless if the car is going extremely fast, but should be heavy if the car is slow
Hey there! Not exactly sure if this is the best place to say this, but I ran into a few problems while testing this. Multiple zombies don't usually seem to work at once, and the zombies that do work have the attention span of a goldfish. Not to mention, the few that work only function in the test mode in studio, and don't function when I publish the new changes to my game.
There are a few things that might've caused this, though. I imported the scripts from this into a R6 rig, so that might be an issue. I also had the CharacterAutoLoads property in the Players tab off, since it messes with one of my other scripts.
Sorry to bother you, I just really want to use this since a lot of these features seem really cool (and I'm too lazy to make an actual AI).
Hey, I fixed the ai not working in the published game was a weird error from roblox should work now if you want to update the code select the rigs and press import I'll also update it to be a little faster I hope that will help !

now make it so multiple zombies can band together to create a huge zombie pile to get to the player if hes in a high location that doesnt have any ladders or stairs to get to
This ai is really cool! Does it use ray tracing? And is it able to chase people through doors?
Yes uses raycasting and can chase people through doors
this should be a zombie game where you gotta prepare

With the transparency you could try making it more customizable like the zombie cant or can see after a certain transparency value for example zombie cant see after the 0.9 value of transparency or cant see before 0.9 or just cant see between 0.5-0.6. All customizable.
