I'm a big Orioles fan living in NY. I have been to Camden Yards 5 times and was never able to snag a homerun ball. Long balls seem to be drawn to you. You are the man. Keep snaggin them my friend. Started collecting gloves since I found my Dad's old "Goose Goslin" glove at my grandma's house. Been finding them at garage sales ever since. Found a Willie Mays, Stan Musial, Joe Dimaggio, Roberto Clemente, Pie Traynor and many from the early 1900's, one inch webs...etc. Do you own any older gloves?
I have a Keith Hernandez signature model as well as a Ray Knight, Gary Carter, Johan Santana, Nolan Ryan, Tom Seaver, David Wright, Lenny Dykstra, Dwight Gooden and Darryl Strawberry. And the great thing about it is that if I ever want to go out and play catch, they're all in broken in condition and I can actually use them.
I love this video! I don't play baseball, but I have started a collection of used signature model gloves of my favorite players (mostly New York Mets). It's a great and economic way to start a cool baseball collection. You went to Friends Seminary, you rich kid?!! That's in my neighborhood.

I’m a first basemen and I have a Rawlings pro preferred first base glove and I can absolutely agree with you that the leather is very dry and slick in cold weather I have missed catches during games thrown right to me that have done the same thing as yours and squirted out of my glove I really do believe it was the glove’s fault

It is because he is blaming his gloves for giving up game home runs and catches but he doesn't properly take care of his gloves and turns them into pancakes causing the balls do pop out of the glove.

So sad that you have let the gloves turn in pancakes and flat as can be. Takes 10 seconds to put a ball and a band around it to keep their shape. You could throw a little conditioner on them as well. You should treat the glove with a little more love. If you didn't have the gloves, I wonder how many balls you would catch.

If you get another glove always clip to the outside of your backpack so it would look nice and keep its shape longer.
