That is Ad Rock on the guitar, MCA on the bass, and Mike D on the drums. They are not just posers rapping to digital stealings. They were true musicians (not great, but adequate) Before the Beastie boys, rap was not having an easy time being accepted by the masses. Run DMC was the biggest rap act before the Beasties. Before them, we had Herbie Hancock's ROCK iT that came out in 1982, launching the "break dance" craze. The Beastie boys still have THE BIGGESTSELLING RAP ALBUM EVER, the FIRST RAP ALBUM to go platinum and their careers started in 1978 in the punk scene and they continued until 2012. They did incorporate a lot of rock and funk into their music to make it familiar and palatable for the masses.

This came out in the early '90s. It was a huge influence and funny that everybody started wearing t-shirts and beanies

On alot of their tracks they use real instruments instead of just processed beats. Like here, the drums and guitar parts are being made by the real instruments. It really is unique in this genre and gives whatever they do a very different vibe for rap music. It's a big part of why their sound was always so unique.

They were considered rock rap and hip hop. That's why you hear guitar.
Amongst other genres , they weren't limited. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll of Fame in 2012.
    Thanks for the reaction. CHEERS

The wild thing about this band is that they started in music as a hardcore punk band called The Young Aborigines. Mike D was the drummer, Adam Yauk, aka MCA, joined the band in mid 1981. They released an EP called Polywog Stew the same year as Beastie Boys. AD Rock was in another hardcore punk band called the Young and the Useless. By 1983 he had joined the band and it was just the three, and they were experimenting with the transition into hip-hop. Not too long after that, they toured with Madonna on The Virgin tour. That was two years before Licensed to Ill was released. The boys were in the business for a long time.

Oh wow, that was something. For me a bit to... well, I just couldn't follow 🤣. But I noticed the crazy, spoken, hypnotic beat - Badum, Badum, Badum, you immediately start bopping along. No wonder you felt like dropping some bars 😜✌️. It's always a good choice if the song makes HAP rap😅. Thank you 🤩🙋🏻‍♀️.

If you want to check out the origins of Rap-Rock, I’d suggest checking out Run DMC’s 1984 song Rock Box. It was the first Rap song to be featured on MTV and had a massive impact on the genre. You could even do a double reaction video and check out their song Raising Hell which more so shows the peak of Rap Rock in the 1980s before groups like Beastie Boys, Rage Against The Machine, Limp Bizkit, and Linkin Park evolved the subgenre in entirely new ways in the 90s.
I do have to say, Beastie Boys, in my opinion, perfected Rap Rock. Songs of their like Heart Attack Man and Sabotage approach it from a more Rock based direction but still include scratching and sampling. On the other hand, songs like Pass The Mic and Looking Down The Barrel Of A G*n approach from a Hip Hop based direction but feature guitars (sampled or live) and Rock-style playing.
