"I'm not saying anyone here is a loser. Your just want to make sure you're not playing like one." So true. Big difference. Love the positivity balanced with truths
At the end of the season, this video is what I want my u11 players to learn. How do you adapt? How do you play the game? How do you overcome adversity? I haven't bumped into any material yet that addresses this topic. But this video helped me realize I need to actively teach this topic and that it cannot only be modeled. Great vid. Thanks
Thank you so much. This has been very hard to implement as a first time coach. After a hard fought loss today this put some wind back in my sails and helped me realize something that was missing from our practices. Explained so well, especially for younger players. Ive been surfing a lot of channels but this video earned a subscription from me. Bravo
Kids need to know they play to win, and to achieve it they have to work for it. Pretty much a life lesson as well. This is a great video for mentalityl. I will use part of this for my new team in the season at some point depending on numbers. Again great video guys 👍
Thanks coach for sharing this, really need this one for my first time handling an underdog team for this coming Saturday tournament... ❤ Thanks again fron me all the way from Tambunan, Sabah Malaysia
This and the tackling one have come at a really good time for us. Some of my (grass roots) u12s are not enjoying the greater physicality as they get older. They've also come back this season having forgotten a lot of the things they did well last year, have lost some games and are getting a bit of a negative mindset. I agree that the winner/loser habits are good principles to play by but we see a lot of winners at elite level constantly acting like "losers" so I wonder if this could be framed slightly differently?
Absolutely. It’s all about getting kids to see wins all over the pitch, positive attitude, togetherness, working hard for each other and accepting that if you lose, there’s things to learn from It! You’re never too young for that!
@@CatalanSoccer I'm coaching a team of girls that for most of them it's their first time playing and playing together, we lost our first match 6-2 and our second match 6-0.... Do u think i can apply this to a portion of their training this week then continue my training drills? I.e. teaching them to kick ball with their laces, running into space and passing into space etc etc? Or u think this winning mentality drill is better suited later down the track?
The game is a simple king of the ring, 1v1 style possession game. Keep the ball from your opponent. The session is not about the drill or the game. It’s about mindset, mentality and playing with a winners attitude, regardless of the game your playing.

Thanks! That’s great to hear. And your absolutely right, it is a teachable topic and one that kids can adopt given the right environment

Thank you for this session man, definitely learned some new techniques/drills as a new coach
Loved it. I hoped professional football would have more off this mentality
Nice to see the session doing well(James)
A can you come to st. And
Is this suitable for U9 girls?

Coach, what age group is this?

I absolutely don't understand this game. It's a session in chaos!
