Due to the nature of my work, I had the opportunity to talk to people whose grandparents were traditionalists, and they told me that there was a sense of guilt in Japan not because Hachi died, but how he died......alone on the frozen ground.

But japanese people have done that great thing which we didn't do for decades. And the thing is Japanese people build the statue in presence of hachiko which was the greatest thing ever I have seen. My respect for Japan became higher and higher then.

@@deba9186 I have done my research and found out a lot from other people and it is clearer to me why Hachi's life was miserable but it would be too long to write. In short, the government saw an opportunity in Hachi's story to promote loyalty. Know one thing, you don't make a statue while someone is still alive. Mrs. Sakano wanted to bury Haci, but she was not allowed to do so. They dissected him and removed his internal organs. It should not have been done.
Hachi's last three months of life are proof of their hypocrisy. Hachi shouldn't have died alone on the street.

Did Ueno have a family, children? And what is shown in the Japanese film, when the professor took a bath with Hachiko, caught fleas from him for hours, and Hachi fell asleep in his arms is it true?
