Cliff, it's been a while since I watched this one. Another facet of Lucy's talent shows here; her breath control. Particularly, at the end of the bridge she holds a slightly long note (with vibrato) then slips right into the next line all in the same breath. She does that in many of her renditions. She will blow right past where one might break to take a breath, only to continue on the next phrase, then eventually taking a breath.

Another great rendition by Lucy. As usual her voice is soft, silky, smooth, and has lots of depth to it. This one, like many others of hers, brought chills up the spine and some tears to go with it. And when she drops back to very soft and smooth last few notes it really grabs me. WOW! as usual.

Cliff you don't need to be a vocal coach to know a great artist when you hear it,I think vocal coachs are over rated ,too much analizing, some go overboard on some singers that are just good, not great at all, not mentioning any names, but people that have seen my comments before will know who I am talking about

At age 14, covers of the song " she used to be mine" ( very nice movie), and " i will never love again" , or " never enough "or "listen" . All are very very good , you will enjoy
Every time I think Lucy can't sing better she proves me wrong. This is incredible. She could hum to me every night and I would drift away to blissful sleep.

Thanks cliff for finally playing another class act song of Lucy's !!! I was on You tube when I got the notice of her new release, clicked on it and listened to it several times and immediately notified you and others of the new release. It absolutely does not get any better than Lucy, she killed this song and showed old Barbara how this song was to be sung. I go and watch the original singers when Lucy sings a new song and she has killed every song she has covered, I find it hard to watch/listen to any other singer as todays 'singers" are nothing but crap, with gimmicks rather than talent, only a couple I can watch clear through. Yes I am an old fart that grew up and aged on QUALITY singing and had all but given up until I discovered Lucy last spring, and yes I have ALL four of her CD's, and I really appreciate her little sister Martha for the talent she has and the guts she has to sing with Lucy, yes she is a brave little soul. I'll be honest I only found your channel because of Lucy and I only watch when you play one of Lucy's/Lucy/Martha's songs, the rest of the crap not worth the time to watch/listen. I have said it before ANYTHING Lucy sings or Lucy/Martha sings is worth the time to watch/react !!! They are a class act so missing in todays so called "entertainment" being offered up today.. YES !!!!! The first song I heard Lucy sing, Hallelujah, I subscribed and bought all 4 albums, first albums I have bought in many many years as most are not worth the money or time, but Lucy's are, and I play them in the Car on the top quality BOSE system, and Lucy can rattle the doors and dash !!!! Cliff we as long time watchers and supporters of Lucy have watched her grow from a 9 year old precious child to an almost 19 year old beautiful, talented young lady, she and Martha come from a very supportive and classy home whose parents are business owners of a fine hand made furniture company. Her mother is very talented and classic stylish woman whose influence is seen in her girls. I applaude her caring parent who have raise such talented and beautiful young Ladies. Cliff, I agree that Lucy seems comfortable. The way she slips from the opening humming into the lyrics, and then at the end she effortlessly slips back into the humming with her smooth voice is very pleasing. She is definitely getting more mature.

Happy New Year. I'm a new subscriber to your channel, but I've been following Lucy for over 3 years. My introduction to Lucy was the video of her singing "Memory" from the musical Cats. I will never forget sitting there and listening to Lucy sing and trying to convince myself she was 15 years old. Do yourself a favor and go listen to Lucy's rendition of Memory. I promise, you will not regret it.

@Wilbur Finnigan At age of 80, probably not, but Barbra owned this song for more than 40 years and no one could sing it better. Gladys Knight did an excellent version because she changed up the arrangement completely, she didn't try to copy Barbra's. At Lucy's current age, Barbra was already an absolute phenom and without the help of RUclips, and she stayed at the top for over 50 years being the only artist in history to chart an album at #1 in 6 consecutive decades. No need to dis the GOAT to elevate someone else. Lucy has a long way to go before she should even be mentioned in the same sentence with Barbra, and I have a feeling Lucy herself would agree. Props to her for even attempting a Streisand song, let alone an iconic one, most won't. But she needs to be more original and less karaoke in her interpretations of these older iconic megahits by superstars. But as they say, imitation is the best flattery.
As you love Lucy like all of us , i will suggest you two songs from Lucy:

Absolutely !!! When I listened to this new release of Lucy's, several times I went and listened to Barbara's version, several actually and Lucy's version blew Barbara's away !! And I was around when Barbara sang this song originally waaay back when, Barbara is now 80 years old, almost my age and Lucy has sooo much better voice, more
"music" in it and just better sound.

And yes, it’s sad to see what society has become - dress standards (or non-standards!), music types, fake electronic music, auto-tuned voices, film industry with its lewd scenes and vulgar dialogue, and much more. As far as music goes, I hope Lucy Thomas, and a few other young performers like her, can “resurrect” some of the freshness, genuineness, originality, purity, and simple beauty that it once had. I’m not saying all music of the past was great. Some of it was degenerate too. But much of it did have these wonderful qualities that Lucy and a few others seem to be re-creating in a sincere, meaningful, and impactful way. God bless you and yours in this New Year!

I have found since I discovered Lucy and Martha I find it very difficult to listen to most of the other singers. there are a couple I can listen to through the whole song but finding and hearing Lucy sing, perfection, it is very difficult to listen to others. When you can hear the best....why...listen to the rest ???
@@wilburfinnigan2142 Hi Wilbur...I have to agree with you. Since discovering Lucy and Martha, I also can't seem to listen to complete songs by other so called great singers. They all seem to be missing something that makes me lose interest very quickly no matter how good they are. Some I can't even tolerate like Dimash for example. He does absolutely nothing for me yet everyone raves about him. Even Angelina Jordan. Everyone gushes over her but she leaves me empty. I am not saying these two are bad singers. But there is something very special about Lucy and Martha that they just plain and simply don't have. I feel that Lucy is so beyond the others that she is endowed with very very unique gift that only comes around maybe only once in a lifetime. Because of Lucy, something mysterious has occurred to my taste in music. I have been altered with a new reality of what a truly great vocalist Lucy is and there seems to be no turning back.

Jeff There is another earlier, Lucy's first song before an audience, in a church at 8 years old, as she said missing her front teeth and recorded by her mother Louise, it is posted on her face book page as private, it is waaaay down the page but it is amazing and yes you can recognise her voice... There is another one also at 11 Let it go... and she really showed her potential fantastic singing and performing for 11 years old. But she also had stared in three school plays so her acting comes out. she is a natural !!! Did you notice the setting of colors of the wind ??? the fence??? same location as The Climb!!!! Family farm 9 years later !! !

I do not do Facebook either but I did find her site and the fan page site, but there are other people with the name Lucy Thomas and Martha Thomas, and there are some that use her name. and you can find info on her father Jason and her Mother Louise who own a fine furniture co for both kids and adults, Their company is names LUCY WILLOW FURNITURE !!!! Willow is Lucy's middle name, and several family pictures when the girls were small.

NO thanks !!! I was around when Barbara sang it many years ago, it was just OK and I went back after Lucy released her version and watched several of Barbara's versions and Lucy top every version, and it was not even close !! Lucys' singing just has more "music" to it better quality, wider, deeper, higher, and Lucy sings, not screams the high notes !!
