    Thank you all who added a note. My kids are now in high school. Time goes by very fast! Just as that sled trip.

    What an amazing man to find a product for both seasons. So the people could keep working and the Factory could be used all year.

      Many sled manufacturers did this. For instance, Standard Novelty Works in Duncannon (who made the Lightning Guider runner sled) also made baby gates and many other products in the off season.

    Some of my fondest memories of the '50's and '60's, sledding. So much fun and excitement. The last word spoken by fictional "Citizen Kane" was 'Rosebud'. No one knew what he meant; it was the name of his childhood sled. Thanks for posting this video!

    i was just randomly looking on google earth at the shit hole which is phili.. i just clicked on a random area and it plopped me down next to the S. L. Allen factory.. its sad its completely in disrepair.. so many of our manufacturing plants have been outsourced to china.. its killed our cities..
