The pastor at my previous church was a woman. The head and children’s pastor are women at my current church. Not only are women pastors completely valid, they’ve delivered incredibly insightful readings of scripture. How DARE The Transformed Wife blame anything on women being pastors. Disgusting. They claim to think Christianity is supreme yet spew hatred for their own religion when it doesn’t conform to their ideology. It has nothing to do with faith and everything to do with promoting a fascism

The biblical version is a Deathcult. A Former Catholic(who never confirmed) but was baptised so Mom could marry Dad(condition of the Pope) as he refused to convert. He was protestant. This used to be a big deal. Growing up, all they talked about was we were living in the End Of Days and being miserable now meant salvation after death. Having fun now meant hell and brimstone later. All I learned was we are ALREADY living in hell. The fiends have moved up here, and taken over, leaving that plane empty. Being dead just means an end to all the pain. I lost my faith at 9 after my mental illness got me thrown out of confession and labelled a child of the devil. I became Pagan later. I pity Catholics who never escaped, it really is a horrible take on faith and does more harm than good.

Also, I love how she's shit-talking women pastors in the very same breath as she tries to teach others about what her interpretation of the Bible is. Y'know, kind of like how pastors do. She's acting like a woman pastor, while saying women pastors aren't valid and shouldn't be listened to.
She really is dumb enough to tell people not to listen to her.

@@starscreamthecruel8026 I grew up in a conservative Mexican Catholic immigrant family here in the US and somehow I ended up becoming hardcore about my faith and it became my personality and identity as well, in the end I lost my faith anyways not because of the feminists or gay folks I was hostile to but because some of my fellow Catholics were saying more batshit crazy stuff than I did.
It wasn’t easy at all because by the time I left my mental health was already deteriorating (thanks Catholic guilt and Purity Culture) and so when I finally left I starting having thoughts of ending it all because I felt I had nothing left to live for but my sister (who became an atheist years before I did, I was the last child to leave this damned church) really helped me and she’s the reason why I’m still here, like you I feel sorry for some of the people still in because they may end up losing more than I did (and I sometimes felt like I lost everything because I nuked most of my social support in the process) and I don’t try to deconvert family that’s still in because it might be more devastating for them as they’ve been part of this Church for more than 50 years in some cases and I left when I was 24, I pretty much think they’re set in their ways at this point.
There’s some things I’ll never forgive the institution for (like the years of pointless repression I had to go through as a teen) and I’m sometimes still resentful of how strong the influence of that institution still is in the country I was born in and in my culture as well, Mexicans are still pretty religious compared to other immigrant groups and some of them might say I betrayed our culture through my apostasy.
From one ex-Catholic to another I wish you the best of luck and healing in your journey.

@@starscreamthecruel8026 See, I find the whole of Roman Catholicism interesting because its a form of Christianity that comes with pride in being a Roman, of the very people who crucified Christianity's messiah.
It's always been a strange thing to me why the very people who worship Christ would be take pride in killing Jeshua and one of the major realizations I came to is because he was their sacrificial Lamb of God. I say this because it was common to sacrifice an animal or person to absolve oneself to their god so it cane of special interest to me that they say Christ's death gives them eternal life.
And it had me realize that they preach the very same things they have since ancient times.
I dont think Christianity has really grown up with the world as we've grown an understanding of it and it shows in the attitudes of a lot of followers.

"Most young women want to play house." Maybe this is just one of the many signs of my autism that was missed in early childhood, but I wanted to set up the house. I did not ever actually want to then play in it. My barbie dolls had a very intricately decorated house with printer cutout posters and CDs and stuff all over their rooms, each doll had ownership over specific accessories and my toy horses, etc. I sewed special clothes for them. I braided their hair. Did I ever just pick up the dolls and act something out? Only if a friend was over and took the lead.
Also, I am a mother. I love my daughter more than anything in the world, and I know that even if I got to redo my 20s a million times I would become a mother. I simultaneously love her and am so glad that I'm her mother, but also don't like the ceaseless responsibility for another human that motherhood has brought, and I have no plans to make additions. One is all I can handle. I don't regret my daughter, I would die for her, but I have the utmost empathy for people who just know in their gut that this isn't their path. Parenthood is hard, and kids deserve parents who don't hold that against them.

I never wanted to play in that sense either. When I was a kid I had these old-style, bigger (kinda creepy) dolls and I enjoyed changing the color of their hair, painting on their face. At some point, I discovered that I could take their heads off. So I took off the heads of several dolls, put them in my backpack, and took them to school. Come break time, I went "hey everyone, check this out! boing!" and pulled one of the heads out of my backpack. I realize that sounds weird, but it was simply about making my classmates laugh. I loved making people laugh. Hell, maybe I should have become a clown, because once I also painted my own face after painting class. I went to the bathroom and gave myself a glorious black mustache and then came back into the classroom, causing several classmates to fall under their desks with laughter.

My family is from the American South, so my grandmother actually picked cotton in the fields, starting when she was nine. Enslaved women of color worked the fields in the American South, quite often, just like the men. You gotta love these people who really believe that life started in the 1950s and that it was like a TV show. Working-class women throughout history worked the farms, ran the shops, cleaned wealthy people's houses, etc. They were expected to work--but didn't actually get to enjoy the fruits of their labor because they weren't allowed to own property. In fact, women were considered chattel, er, slaves. Sooooo, women have always worked inside AND outside the home. It's just now, we get to keep our wages.

I hate when people use religion to be hateful to others when it should be a good thing that brings people together. I also agree that people are allowed to have their own beliefs and people shouldn’t be shamed for believing or not believing in different things. Part of being reform is we adjust to the present and we’re not living in BCE times anymore.

And it's SO fucking creepy to hear them basically call for that kind of cult mentality but for an entire half(approx) of society. it's barely removed from "you don't need to read or write, you don't need a bible in a language you understand, just let the preacher tell you what it means". About women flodding the job market: This is a false narrative. Woman always worked. Having a stay at home wife was somthing only upper class families could afford, even 200 years ago. Working-class and middle-class women always worked. Only with the post-war boom of income in industrialized countries, it became possible for middle-class house-holds to have a stay at home mom.

One of the worst things a couple can do is to stay together when they’re not happy or stay together for “the sake of your children” especially when it’s an abusive relationship! My Mom stayed with my late father because of their religious beliefs (we were raised catholic) and because of their parents not wanting the “stain” of having a child who’s marriage didn’t work. My Mom openly admits that doing this was the worst parenting decision she ever made because not were they unhappy but my father was physically abusive towards her and us, and we still live with that trauma every single day, so if this woman wants to stay in a bad relationship that’s fine you do you, but don’t push this shit on other people!
