In Fat Lip you can hear Deryck sing "heavy metal and mullets it's how we were raised, Maiden and Priest were the god that we praised" so it's definitely a tribute but one does not preclude the other. I also am and have always been a big fan of Iron Maiden but I always found that they looked a little ridiculous... but in a funny way. That's why I love this song so much and this video even more ! It's a fan made parody !
