My son and i used to watch ur F1 videos all the time; he really used to like racing sims and even had me buy him a decent setup. He passed away just a few days ago, due to terminal cancer, at the age of just 17. I just want to tell you that he really loved ur videos mate, ur energy whenever u speak, jokes, everything man.

Well actually... if the engine is having issues, it may be better to shut off the engines rather than have them continue and get worse, or cause more issues.
Obviously, but in this scenario two good engines shut off during landing is not a good idea cause in an emergency, you can’t go around.

Coming from an actual pilot, this is by far the most entertaining simulation video I have ever seen.
Do you recommend people getting their pilot's license? I'm thinking of getting mine after some time in the military, though I am very unlikely to use it. Do you think the experience is worth all the time and money?

*Trevor, info about fuel mixture* : you have to change your mixture depending on altitude.
The higher you go, the less dense the air is, right ? So you have to lean out the fuel mixture because there's less air to burn that fuel.
(ideal proportion we learn for a prop engine is around 14 parts air for 1 part fuel, but you don't have to remember that.)
Air control: Your altitude is too high...

My dad was a air plane mechanic in ww2 and when he got out he learned to fly and still continued to work as a plane mechanic. I think I took after him in the love of flying. I use xplane 11, but may have to get Microsoft Flight Simulator. One reason I love Trev is he makes whatever he does fun and entertaining. It also helps when he takes time to learn the game to gain knowledge and not just play it. Your the reason why I bought several games bud. Love what your doing and keep it up.
Looking forward for this series. I think I am as excited as you are.

I have three switches:
Left I think controls thrust.
Middle controls the engine RPMs?? I think? lol
Far right one is fuel mix.
If anyone can give me the run down on when I should have them where, that would be a big help. And any other tips that you have!

You have it right, left controls the amount of power. the blue lever controls the pitch of the propeller, and the red is the fuel mixture control.
I am no pro but I have done some flying (I’m 18) To save time, there is a take off and landing checklist in real life and the simulator. You are right about what the controls do. Always take off with them all in. One tip... Don’t shut off the engines when you land :)

4:24 Fun fact: in 1990 a pilot for Crossair wrote off a plane when he retracted the landing gear while on the runway to show another pilot how the landing gear couldn't be retracted while still on the runway. The same pilot would later die piloting Crossair Flight 3597 in a crash caused by, you guessed it, pilot error.

Ahh as a Chicago native I can say that portillos did originate in illinois, it’s so damn good lol
Just some tips from a pilot if you want lol:
1. Id recommend learning on a Cessna 172 or 150 which is what I learned on. It just has a throttle and mixture. very easy
2. The Beechcraft you flew is a turboprop, it has throttle(black leaver), a propeller leaver(blue) and mixture(red). For cruise you can go around half throttle, 2/3 prop, and half mixture too. and
3. In smaller planes, your pitch (nose up or nose down) controls speed and power (throttle) controls altitude. Yes I know its weird but thats how it is lol.
There's no "The Beginning", so there can be no "The End" 😁

Takeoff speed for widebody is about 170kts but you could do 120kts for your king air

Literally what you do on takeoff is use full throttle, every time!!!! 🤦🏼♂️
The average takeoff throttle is actually about 85%

Wrong. If the runway is long enough for aircraft to lift at flex thrust, it will always do that. Taking off with full thrust wears out the engine faster. To save money and time on maintenance you only use full throttle when you have to do so.
Dino Palic flex thrust isn’t used on smaller props & turboprops if i’m not mistaken. For take-off with props you need to set full power according to our sops
