This isn't even second lead syndrome. It's straight up the fact that Yeong Do was amazing. He's so vulnerable in his scenes with Eun Sang. He tries to act cool and nonchalant, but at the end of the day all he wanted was for someone to love him. He deserved so much better than an unrequited love. He's also such a unique k-drama character. His character progression throughout the drama was admirable, he never changed (he always had a good heart) he just needed to heal his wounds.
But like also, HOW COULD YOU REJECT YOENG DO FOR VANILLA-CLICHE KIM TAN?! Like how?!?!
I wish there was Heirs 2 all about Yeong Do's story and future.

Young Do doesn't know how to express his emotions well because he never received love and affection from his father. I pity him, but it was rewarding that towards the end of the drama, he finally meet his mom and perhaps everything will change for the better. This drama is so beautiful and all the actors are good. Gim tan was a great guy, fought for her the right way with his family.. with everyone that is how love should be. But just imagine how much yeong do would’ve changed if he got her🥺.. he only knows how to get things dont by hurting, bullying people. She would’ve changed his life significantly .. that’s why i feel bad for him. The second lead syndrome is real on this drama

I also felt bad for yeong do but we cannot forget the fact that he did bully the girl in very subtle ways. Tripping her so she falls, throwing her in the pool , constantly making her feel awkward by asking her so many uncomfortable question. I know he had a hard upbringing and didnt know any other way to show love but it is not her fault. If i were at the place of that girl, i would have also liked kim tan who was nice to me from the start. I think yeong do also realised in the end that he couldnt get eun sang becausw of his behaviour. Yeong do was a nice guy from the inside but he needed to be nice from outside too.

i watched this drama when i was 12 with my friends and i loved kim tan so much like literally we were fangirling over lee min ho after watching it . BUTTTTT idk what was i thinking i watched it for the second time when i turned 16 and i fell for young do , my favourite character switched from kim tan to young do . well maybe i was influenced by my friends bcs we watched it together and shared our thoughts on the drama . but the second time watching it was different , it was just me watching it alone i could look into young do ‘s different way of showing his love to eunsang . seriously i even watched it for the third time just for young do . he lowkey looks like my crush too
