    Hi Jack, This is so smart, I sent your video to the Insurance Bureau of Canada stating that Car manufacturers should do this much for their customers. Kubota is so smart. Someone drives off with your tractor and you can follow them in real time, fantastic. Take care. Roland

    The F3990 cuts grass like it is a bulldozer as it goes through everything- even 7 ft high thistle (with the deck up). I had the rear discharge deck and it has not clogged up even once. If you are just cutting really high grass (without small shrubs or woody thistle or rose), you can cut as fast as the ground conditions will allow you. This mower is unbelievably powerful. The cut of the rear discharge deck is not as good as the side as the side will mulch the grass clippings better, but if you need good cut, but not perfect, especially for large field cutting, this is a great machine to give a very high production, manicured look.

      John Doe Although it’s expensive, I’d rather have this than a tractor/bush hog combo. Bush hogs make a mess. The visibility is way better on this unit.

    You would think.. for the cost of that machine.. it should be push a button and the deck automatically lifts to the upright position.

  • @_P0tat07_
    @_P0tat07_ 7 лет назад +6

    Not bad. Only thing I question is the difficulty of lifting that deck up. Having worked on a golf course, I'm used to washing mowers off after each use. It seems many mowers don't have an easy option for putting the deck into a position to where you can directly blast the underside with water. The process you demonstrated, while actually having the ability to lift the deck, seems quite involved. Especially if you were to wash it off after each use.

    • @MessicksEquip
      @MessicksEquip  7 лет назад +1

      +P0tat07 it would be a lot for every use. Generally though I'd say it's more common for people to do it after every 3 or 4 times, just often enough to keep the grass from building up down there.

    • @HireFarms
      @HireFarms 7 лет назад +4

      I own one, and it's used for my residence only. Easy tip for the deck flip - I built ramps, just using some 2x6" boards, stacked 2 high on each ramp. Drive the front tires up on a 2"x6" board (or two) and you're just off the ground enough, to not worry about the deck dragging on the ground.

    I've recently bought one of these and have changed-out the 24" four plys for flat profile 6 plys , as there're a bigger footprint . With the drive being effectively front-end situated , they do tend to lose traction on the uphill/turns quite quickly. 16 psi in the front and 18 in the rears helps a lot . At 24/36 psi , it's useless really . I also picked up some solid front casters for the deck . Keeping ( and fiddling to air-up to 50 psi .... ) the pressure in the supplied pneumatic casters is a bit of a pain imho .Neither of these changes costed much at all . Oh , and that 1505 block four potter is magnificent :-) Had one in a B3030 for years . Nice review Neil :-)

    • @npet6842
      @npet6842 7 лет назад

      Nearly forgot : you'll need to re-level the deck if you change the front tyre pressure , as the rear deck position will of course alter !

    Hi, thanks for an awesome review! If you don’t mind answering this question, I can’t wait 5 months to get a new Kubota F but I can get a second hand F2890 with 72 deck. Was the F2680 underpowered to run a 72 back when you did this review? I just want to make sure this 2890 will run a 72 with power to spare. Thanks very much!

    so they quit making these due to the same regen type issues that the b3301 compact tractor had? i just bought a 2017 to use for snow removal, am i in trouble? hard to get the DPF good and hot when it's zero degrees out.

    • @MessicksEquip
      @MessicksEquip  2 года назад +1

      B3350, it has the same engine. We didn't have as many issues with the f series, but your concerns are warranted. It needs to get hot in the cold weather to regen properly.

    Do you have any customers who use the boot and blower from the bagger attachment? I own a F3990 and one downside is that you can get a lot of grass blown back on you. I've wondered about getting the boot and blower from the bagger attachment, to direct and blow the grass behind the operator. Would love to try it!

    could you drive it on a slope to show the stability of it . show going out and up the slope in 2wd then 4wd . the mower deck flipping is the best feature easy to maintain . good job on the videos .

    • @killstrees
      @killstrees 6 лет назад +2

      These mowers are super stable and controllable on slopes and will go just about anywhere you want so long as 4wd is engaged, occasionally locking the diff. Unlike zero turns, where they follow down hill slopes as much as possible, these are a joy to use on all kinds of slopes and terrain you may encounter.

And putting it in some fancy angle so it looks pretty doesn't cut grass put all the scalping rollers under it and you'll have many many more customer because them roller wheels are in the way

      Well even the Huskies are overpriced. FYI, the last F150 I bought new (purchased earlier this year, 2017) was cheaper than this thing, lol. It was only $22,832, including options. The cheapest 3990 I could build on the Kubota site is $27k. Probly doesn't even have a radio.

      That's why I bought a commercial Husqvarna P525d outfront mower. 61" cut. 28hp Kubota diesel. Easier to maintain/lift deck. Dedicated mulching deck or rear discharge (5mins to change plug). Articulated hydraulic rear STEER. AWD. Can swap the deck out for a flail rough area deck. 5yrs commercial warrenty. Handles our tough Aussie condition great.
