super cool cosplay!! as a beginner who has only made like 1-2 ever but is also very interested in splatoon, this is super inspirational and cool, even if it failed. keep up the good work :D
You are genuinely one of my favorite Splatubers!! I love seeing crafts/cosplays/ literally anything related to my favorite game. Thank you for posting this video despite it being a "failure" (I think it looks absolutely amazing even though it fell apart). It's... reassuring, I would say, to see the unsuccessful attempts at a cosplay. Also I just love seeing your craft videos in general (your Little Buddy plush video and pattern helped me make a gift for one of my best friends in 2022 and it was so fun to make thank you for that!). I can take a lot of knowledge away from them. I'm currently in the process of planning out a Horrorboros cosplay for a gaming convention in... 5 weeks (I am a procrastinator lol)? Only the head, "arms", and tail. Despite Iso Padre not being a Salmonid (obviously haha), some of the info in this video (like using EVA foam) is super helpful!!! (I am probably going to make the base of the head out of EVA foam, and then cover it in fabric). Question, what adhesive were you using for the EVA foam? Was it contact cement? I'm looking for an alternative to contact cement that's not toxic (my "workshop" is my bedroom and I don't want to toxic fume up my bedroom, or make my dog sick). Sorry if you said it in the video and I just missed it. Thanks again for all the content you make! I wish you had a lot more subscribers/viewers because your art is amazing, and I know it takes forever to make them. p.s. I liked hearing the Side Order soundtrack in the background (I heard Cold Storage and got really happy because I love that song!)
Thank you so very much for this comment. This almost started to make me cry! To get to hear this after that uncertain period where we had to focus on other stuff and then to come back with a failed project, it's really comforting to hear! Thank you very much! Sadly, I'm also using Contact Cement for my EVA Foam. And during all my years of doing this I have not seen anyone do it with anything other then contact cement. Hot glue can be a possibility, but it will add some nasty thick seams, it's add a lot of weight over larger pieces and unless you score some extra texture into the seams you want to add to another and add something behind it it can be really fragile. Do you perhaps have a garage or something of the sorts where you can do the glueing and then afterwards take it inside when the smell has left the foam? Because I think you will probably also need some spray adhesive to cover the eva with the fabrics afterwards which will also leave behind some nasty fumes.

And do you have a plan yet for the patterns for the head? Because if not I might be able to tell you in a little more detail how I made the pattern pieces for Iso Padre!
@@WVDCreations woah thanks for all the info! I do have a garage (and an entire outdoor area) I could do it in. I do have a plan for the patterns for the EVA foam base. I modified the Horrorboros 3d model available on “The Models Resource”, scaled it to 20% (of what the final will be), and printed it on my 3d printer. It should be ready when I get home. From there, I was going to make a tape pattern, put it on paper, scan it into my computer, trace the patterns, then return it back to full scale. Then, I would print it, trace it onto 10 mm EVA foam, then cut the pieces out (bevel what needs to be beveled, glue, and heat shape a pit. Also 3D print a hinge for the jaw). I got the idea from Mugiwara Cosplay and their tutorial video for a cosplay of Gummigoo from the Amazing Digital Circus. Although the shapes are vastly different, I think the method would work (I really need the base to be lightweight since Boros has such a long snout!). Also, I plan to use minky (can’t remember if I mentioned this or not) so hopefully it’ll have a bit of stretch for the jaw mechanism. I would still love to hear more about what you did to get Iso Padre’s patterns! Thanks for the responses. I’ll probably use contact cement, just safely outside. And with a respirator! The weather where I live is being a bit tricky right now (random rain showers), but I’m sure there’ll be a good opening over a few days. Thanks so much!!
Another question, is there a major difference between low-density EVA foam and high-density EVA foam? The Mugiwara cosplay video I had watched said they used 10mm low-density, but all I can seem to find on sites like Amazon is high-density (Amazon is just one of the most convenient places for me. That or Joann Fabrics). I don’t know if there’s a big difference or not?
It's a shame that the cosplay ended up failing, are you going to use it for parts when making the second version? Or are you going to make it from scratch? I loved your cosplay! Seeing everyone giving space to Iso Padre was so hilarious! My favorite part of the Iso Padre costume was all of his hands moving, It's really good for a handshake haha. I really loved it! The cosplay looked awesome besides those problems. I hope to see more of him next time!
Yeah, I am hoping to use as much of the old one as possible. Luckily for me, most of the body and the clothes are still as good as new! Which is really good since the clothes were the best part of the cosplay until that point in my opinion. only the face, tail and the shells need to be completely remade. But I only need to add those new vertical supports to the body and some supports around the holes for the arms and legs and they are good to go! I also love the multiple arms. This was a cosplay where I was actually kinda sad that I was not able to see it from the outside being worn. Because I would have loved to see him walking around myself. I now just need to add a little bit of stuffing to the wrists, because the claws on each of the extra arms kept going outward which made them look a bit too unnatural. But with that it should be a quick little fix together with the rest of the repairs.
ooo, this is so cool, even if it didnt work. can i ask if youll do an agent 4 coplay? they're my favorite character in the whole series and i want to see someone cosplay them
Sadly I can't remember where I originally got the font from but I do have a google drive link from Ardnint who made a lot of Splatoon fonts: drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1auWDr21L1gu6tzCJsXTHsiMJSOIxj5xn
It may have failed, but it was still a joy to see (on video). Keep those creagears turning!!
Even though it failed. It’s still an amazing cosplay that could’ve been so cool! Keep up the good work!
Thank you very much!

0:51 WAIT! I was at Dokomi this year!
What the hell that suit looks sick!!! Sad that we dont have more footage of the suit in action :P
I'm hoping to get to take him to a con in the first week of October so hopefully we get some nice footage then!
Oooo that suit is fire! Damn great job!
Thank you very much!

You should try making an Amiibo of Meggy Spletzer.
