FLIP KEY CONVERSION | Blank Key Removal & Reinstallation is a simple tutorial on the disassembly and reassembly of a generic or universal flip key fob as part of an upgrade procedure to the original or stock remote key. Disassembly is sometimes necessary if the locksmith asks for it or if you want to keep the flip key fob housing from getting scratched.
Having a Duplicate key made for this is necessary if you want to make full use of the blank key that came with the universal key fob for Toyota. The process is really simple and will just take a few minutes of your time and only requires a small Phillips screw driver and prying tool. The flip key mechanism has two springs and a lock pin. This seem simple enough but some people are mechanically challenged that even a simple process like this may cause a little confusion. This video helps to address that.
