Five Finger Death Punch performing Fiction live at Metro Theatre in Sydney on 14 August 2009
Five Finger Death Punch were formed in 2005 by guitarist Zoltan Bathory (formerly of U.P.O.). The American Capitalist Songfacts states that Bathory came up with the name after being amused by a scene involving a five finger punch in Kill Bill 2. Other members recruited to the band include former Motograter & Ghost Machine vocalist Ivan Moody, former W.A.S.P. members guitarist Darrell Roberts and drummer Jeremy Spencer, and former Anubis Rising/Deadsett bassist Matt Snell.

The thing about 5FDP, not only are they amazing live, they make every song better live... even though their songs couldn't really get much better, they find a fucking way! \m/

As much as I love five finger death punch & I do enjoy there new music I miss this version of 5FDP. I miss him screaming! He’s not so heavy anymore idk maybe it’s because he’s finally happy & is feeling peace. But we need more heavier IVAN!! He’s my favorite singer!! He can sing like an Angel and scream like the devil!

They saw success, record label began getting involved in song writing, and drummer had back issues. With a new label and new drummer, we'll see what they do next. New song on Monday

If you do a little research, they are currently being sued by their record company. Ivan (lead singer) went into rehab, and they had a deadline to push music all at the same time.... If that doesn't cripple creativity, I don't know what does.
