P-Trix this year innovated a new style of juggling and was super tight. Lookin back I think he deserved to win. I realize in hindsight that I brought nothing innovative, but I had to save face from 98.
There are a lot of questionable decisions in the DMC league of battles. THIS was by far the most controversial. Even to this day. Illest routine recorded.
Damn...DJ Slyce!! I just watched your DMC USA 97' routine. Used to have that on VHS. I bought 2 copies of 'Lets Dance' just so I could bite your routine lol. This set is so clean and versatile. You were one of the best to use body tricks but still be real clean and not "noisy".
@@DavidWilliams-vj2jg breakbeat records are one thing, but I was more referring to like the LeJad ones made specifically for a particular routine/battle/DJ. If it's something anyone can get, that's fine IMO
Gotta say it. Slyce is in my opinion the best. I always thought Roc Raida was but hands down slyce is more precise on the cut and beat juggling. No serato needed for Slyce.
I use to Have This on VIDEO I loved P TRIX he was DOPE but I got to Give it to SLYCE he was my Man because of ROUTEEN SKEMZ was FIRRRRRE from jump he never Missed a HEART BEAT he kept You ENTERTAINED and ended well .Sometimes when your on THAT NEK LEVEL stuff You kind of Have To Our it close to the END because I'f You try do all Your NEK LEVEL stuff at the start it's like feeding people something they never Tried Before and You have to do it with something They familiar.MY MAN SLYCE he chopped it up real WELL it could of Had MUSHROOMS in his miX ,but with a little bit of HOT SAUCE and grounded season With that chicken ,The PLATES gonna be too good to TURN DOWN .....
When I use to watch this tape I would laugh bc his shirts color pattern made it look like he had small arms and a big head. Ha anyways outstanding slick set.🎚👍✌❤
You were biting Craze's '98 juggle hard, at the start of your set. I did the exact same thing myself in '99..I should've made it onto the '99 UK Final tape, but was well and truly robbed by the judges at one of the regional heats that year.

Ptrix came with a new style but slyce came back in 99 with such a tough routine. This guy had the most skills in that room that night.
For years now, I find myself coming back to this set for inspiration and my dose of funk and tablism.

Loved the two snare thing at the end. One record had the soft snare and the other had the hard snappy one. Combined...that was fire!

I am torn between this one and Roc Raida DMC 96. However, I am leaning Slyce since Roc had 2 errors in his set.
+D. Jay Dummy's 1998 routine not winning was more controversial than this.
