No need to state your age!! Trance is ageless ... these tracks are in your DNA .. forever .. so sit back and enjoy,, and tell the next generation how awesome it was to have been there when albums like Tranceport were produced :)
This is the album that got me into electronic music. I didn't really listen to anything as a kid. But I walked through some store in a mall in Toronto, Canada and this was playing. I bought it and it changed my life ever since 1998.
This track. As soon as I heard the first note on this track, something in brain fired and my posture changed and my eyes widened with realization. I've been trying to track down a particular Trance album we used to listen to on the way to parties (or one the way back, as the sun was coming up). As soon as I landed here, it hit me like a ton of bricks that I'd found it. The reaction was physical. What an amazing album.
Heart is Smiling as memories of a time when music & freedom in life went hand & hand. I lived in Hawaii and had just turned 18 and ended up partying for 8 years straight never left the island 😂 Paul Oakenfold is my ultimate guru into the world of trance ~ clubbing scene. ❤
Dude, thirty? I'm 42 and have been rocking out to it since I first heard it in 2000. Used to blast it off the trailer of my brother's art-car at Burning Man. Perfect for the occasion. We attracted a large dancing mob.
I saw Paul tour this CD at Shadow Lounge in South Beach/Miami, Florida. Must've been February of 1998. While playing the drop of El Nino, I remember looking up at the "control tower" like DJ booth, seeing the light girl hopping up and down, hands in the air, to the beat, only to have the whole club plunged into complete darkness and utter silence because every dance floor light was going at once. LMAO. Huge "Whooooooh!" cheer came from the crowd. Lights were back on in 2 to 3 minutes.
heard this in 99, I am now 61 , rockin I liked it , saw him 2 weeks later in Cancun, my first dance party, no drugs , just hearing an energy that gave me hope, joy, and hope, still does, then my son played with him 10 years later. arggggg
it doesnt thats whats so magical about it! It was new to me in 2017 and it will be for my children later on and will far outlive them and anything that comes out after
It never gets old, still gives me chills and reminds me of the good times as a young snot nosed kid in my caddy w/ 2 12's in the trunk shaking windows :)
Got this CD for a dollar at local flea market today. I was stunned. I always keep my eye out for good electronic albums but never find any. I gotta keep my eyes open more
This is during the time period when there were TONS of electronic and trance albums at the record store. There was no RUclips to listen before buying, etc. everything was bought by word of Mouth or by gut feeling. This album was one of those that stood out. It was required listening, it changed lives literally
Goodtime Greg absolutely! I have the northern exposure album in my playlist. Absolutely seamless mix! These two albums are pure masterpieces...Morgan king’s Free is still one of the best tracks!
This is a benchmark Trance album. Before Oakenfold sold out and went mainstream. Thanks for at least one album without commercialization. You want to find Trance DJs who still understand what electronic music is about from the same era, search "Sasha, Digweed, Maas, Tenaglia, Fontaine, Warren, Lawler, Global Underground (Boxed)", etc.... not all at the same time, of course that might create some interesting results too...Peace.
This brings me back. First time I heard this set was from a live recording from some concert, Live from Creamfields I think it was. That was back in the late 90's. Here it is 2020 and it still gives me a rush up my spine. LOVE IT!!!
magical moment to this disc with two broth-as from Tenn an Iranian a Swedish gymnast a Lebanese man and me a transcending party raver of the day all in DC... we were all so different and diverse but all agreed to this disc for atmosphere and listened to it all morning after a full night of Rollin and clubbing...will never forget that moment
music is like writing, there are only so many types of plots you can write, so it can get repetitive. its how you bring out the details that makes a story or a song different from others, even if the plot is the same. that is what Oakenfold has done here. I have heard this same bass beat to dozens of techno and trance songs, but what makes this c.d. different is the way he adds to it.
i had to buy this CD twice because i wore out the first one.. and to think i was only like 16 at the time.. blew my mind back then and still does today even though i've long since moved on from my trance phase lol
I was listening to this in 2002 before I became fully invested in goa/psy. this was a great compilation with so many emotions in the music 8) the intro 2 minutes is goa-ish.
Its the 1997 your @ the listening station in Tower Records on the Drag in Austin TX. You sample this album and are immediately traceported to inner space. Oakenfold releaced many albums since then. Almost all of them delivered a near equal experience. While this album is seminal, Its a shame that the rest of the Trannceport series completely washed out, and were mostly un-listenable.
2:19 goosebumps. Wow. Timeless. I immediately traveled back in time to 1999.
No need to state your age!! Trance is ageless ... these tracks are in your DNA .. forever .. so sit back and enjoy,, and tell the next generation how awesome it was to have been there when albums like Tranceport were produced :)
Arguably the best Trance album ever made. This and the Global Underground: New York (house/breakbeat) are my favorite work by him.
THE BEST
Srugaaaa
agreed!
You're my new best friend.
@@Echolyris212 thanks for that game recognizes game.
Takes me back to my youth. Remember playing this cd over and over in my youth.

Holy moly! This brings me back to the times of Sasha and Digweed, and PVD.... Ahhhh the good old days, lol!
Yes indeed the good ol' days.
You have great taste in music.
Damb I'm getting old😂😂😂 good times! 💖💖💖 this 🎶
yeeeeup!
wow, have not heard "Sasha and Digweed" in 20 freakin' years. Thanks for the reminder.
This track.

What an amazing album.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤💯💯💯💯
My first taste of REAL trance music. I'll never forget it. STILL one of the best album mixes I've ever heard to this very day.
I can remember the way this album smelled when I purchased, and opened it up for the first time.
Synesthesia?
Those of us who were there and lived it have forever had all of our senses altered.
1997. The year everything started to flip upside down.
That's an airplane seatbelt. ❤

Goodtime Greg absolutely! I have the northern exposure album in my playlist. Absolutely seamless mix! These two albums are pure masterpieces...Morgan king’s Free is still one of the best tracks!
Still hittin' in 2021
I remember downloading this from Napster when I was in high school. Heard the name on sirius today and had to revisit
Mi primer disco de trance, 1997 una joya, y desde entonces no dejo de escuchar "TRANCE" saludos desde cdmx
I'm 34 and I just bought this for a second time on CD. Came here to listen to it whilst I'm importing the CD. Great album!

Same. Old school trance has a power that other electronic genres don't.
this album introduced me to trace music in middle school...memoriess
This was the album of choice tearing up the digital races on Burnout Revenge. Trance + Racing = a great time

I'm from the future year 3001 we still jam to this classic
I'm 32, just turned it on. Classic electronic music destroys most of the new stuff.

You never have to put down other "mediocre" bands to a certain artist credit. If the music is amazing, it speaks for itself. This is amazing. lol
when TRANCE was TRANCE
@JEPeters00 This album amnd 'Far from the maddening crowds' by Chicane are the ultimate pinnacles of all trance, past and present. Absolutely!
